Following the meat sauce 🍝 a while ago, Jay 😋 had an irresistible craving for kiritanpo nabe after seeing Hirupeko's post. While we were walking together as usual, I told Nobby about it and we were both completely in the mood for kiritanpo 😙 We bravely went to the supermarket, but they were sold out of kiritanpo😱gwahhhhhh😓...this must be because people who saw Sake no Wa bought all the kiritanpo 😁. I was wondering what to do 😨 when I found "Damako Mochi" on sale nearby ‼️ so I bought other ingredients and we had Seri Nabe with Damako Mochi 🤗. I bought some other ingredients and made this nabe with Damako Mochi 🤗 I served this nabe with Asahi Kohki's Kumi Kumi! I'll make love to you! The aroma is freshness of nokkumi ☺️ The first sip is easy to drink and sweeter than expected 😚 but the acidity is calm and brings it all together like a homeroom teacher 😋. The first time I tried Seri (Japanese parsley), it was surprisingly unctuous for its aroma, and the Tamako Mochi was delicious, just like a round Kiritanpo! This nabe was the right choice👍. The sake was just as good with the nabe as it was with the rice, and every time we ate or drank, we kept repeating, "Wasn't Asahi Koki this good? Nobby kept repeating "I don't remember Asahi Koh being this good" every time we ate or drank. Akita style nabe with Tochigi love 🥰!

Last week, my liver took a solid five days off from Monday to Friday after New Year's 🤗 and on Saturday, I joined my daughters in Tokyo as I mentioned last time! That night, my daughter and I went with him to an Okinawan izakaya (izakaya) where we drank beer 🍺 and highballs 🥃, but I was not in the mood for the Reimei 🍶 that was on the menu 😑. After leaving the restaurant, I split up with two other people and walked to Ueno Station. We had about 20 minutes to wait for the bullet train, so we wondered if we could have a quick drink at a soba noodle shop inside the station where there were bottles of sake 🤔I'm not that much of a drinker, so I decided to hold off...as a result, I haven't had sake for a long time🥲. But that's beside the point 😆. My first sake in 5 days was Ona-san, the first label after the zodiac bottle: ‼️ bouken-san drank it last week and informed me that it has a fancy taste among Ona's. â I will make love to you! The aroma is fruity, peachy and sweet. The first sip has the same fruity and sweet taste as the aroma, and then the sourness and bitterness come in, which is what I call a mellow taste 😋! If I didn't drink so much of this, I would only have 3-4 bottles in stock and I'm a mature drinker 😉. Mellow Tochigi love 🥰.

I've been curious about this one every time I see it at a sake shop! I was looking at the refrigerator at the liquor store wondering if it was sold anywhere in Utsunomiya 🤔 when I found it and rushed to pick it up, saying 😳There it is! I loosened my grip and looked at the price tag in my eyes and froze for a while. 😶‍🌫️ I didn't hear anything about it 🫢. But I wanted to drink it and I didn't spend any other money 😅 so I got it👍 I'll make love to you I'm feeling some kind of wooden vat feeling 😙 and Nobby I can't feel that at all Jay 🥲I looked back at your review on Sake no Wa and saw a lot of rice with the wood vat feeling! Nobby's tongue was sure 😄. The taste was a delicious one that we like, from light sweet and sour to a honnori bitterness that tightens up 🤗. Yesterday, we went to Tokyo to see them back in Japan 🤗Noby's brother and my mom joined us and the 6 of us went to Ginza for Sukiyaki lunch (delicious) → Asakusa sightseeing (very crowded💦) → beer 🍺 break! After that, we split up with my mother and brother and the four of us enjoyed drinking and eating at an Okinawan izakaya (🏮) in Ueno 😋. My daughter's English and his Japanese comprehension skills have both improved and we all had a great time 😄. We are planning to come to Utsunomiya in February together, so we are looking forward to many more things 🏮.

This was the first J&N walk of the year! We bowed to the health forest 🌳 of our usual course 💦 for about an hour of exercise. I can't keep up with my writing 📑🥲I'll be raising the drinks I had over New Year's break! Here's the first one! J&N's motto is to try new sakes and not buy the same ones as much as possible ‼️ 🤗 of course there are a few exceptions 😅 like the winter nigori sake, we don't buy many of the same ones 🤔. The only two exceptions are Sentori Yukidamari and HIRO-CHAN Nigori which I've brought two years in a row ‼️ I saw HIRO-chan last year when I went to the liquor store on a whim, but I didn't want to go back 3 years in a row 😶... but then I went back a few weeks later and met her again 😁It's fate 🥹 and I took her to the store! My mother Nobby went home for the night and our house was quiet for the first time in a long time 😌 Hiro-chan was able to open the bottle quietly too! We poured the top clear glass into the Riedel and toasted together for the first time in 2025 🥂This time has come back 🥹When I looked at the table, I saw a gorgeous Ori Dance 💃 had started and I watched it for a while...I stroked my cat while turning the glass. No, there was no cat 🤣. I'm so drunk with myself that I'm writing all over the place 😁. I was so drunk I had to write it all down 😁......! I could understand that good food is good food 🤗.

This year, J and N will be celebrating New Year's Eve with their parents and older siblings! So we can't have New Year's sake together 🍶🥲, but we will have Tochigi sake ‼️ at the end of the year, so we will bring Kirifuri Sandesi to each other's parents' house as we did at the end of last year🤗. We also had a rare live post to toast to the end of another year 🥂! It's really good 😋Thanks for being able to buy it at the supermarket 😊. And I remembered the goal I set at the beginning of the year, so I'll announce the correct answer for J&N in a year 📣. No.6 home drinking: achieved in February🤗. Meet Imi: accomplished in November🤗Thanks Tsubu-chan! Go to Hokuriku sake drinking trip: Too bad 😫Next year ‼️ And for New Year's Day, Jay will start work on 1/2, so we will stay only one night and go home 😅Noby will be back late, so J&N's first drink will be after 1/2. --At the end of the year... In 2024, I was somewhat busy with work and was not able to go out for our annual sake trip 😓 We only had 2 prefectural meetings, but we met up at events, started a women's group, and met some new people, so I think our scope has expanded 😌. In 2025, we would like to go on a sake trip together again to meet new people🤗. Thank you to everyone at Sake-no-Wa for your support this year! Good work 🤗Noby finished his mission to see us off 😅 finally came home yesterday 🥹 after a 6 day reunion with J&N moving 🥹. So it was automatically the first sake in 6 days! Here's what I chose for my first drink in a long time🤗. Hanazumi-san, whose popularity has skyrocketed in the sake world since Manachie's post: ‼️ The main entrée was the 😋 squid toro maki from Asanoya, a favorite of the J&N family! I'm going to make love to you and drink a toast to that. The aroma of this beer is not so sweet, is it? I took a sip of the top clear liquid and it was so good 😍It's been a long time since I've had a sake that soaks up the flavor 👍It's sweet but you can also feel the bitterness of the sake 👍 The sweetness and the bitterness are both nice 😙. Don't worry if it's too sweet or too sour, it's just delicious. ‼️ I was talking about heating it up when it reaches the halfway point. I was talking about heating it up when it was halfway through, but then I realized how little was left 😅It ended up being so delicious that it was killed off in a blink of an eye 😚. I was re-confirmed that Mr. Wakata's quote "Active nigori is absolutely delicious" is not wrong 😄. This is probably the last time we will drink at home in Utsunomiya! We will finish off the night with drinks that we will bring to each other's homes 😌. My daughter, who got over various difficulties on the UK domestic flight ✈️ with guts 🥹, sends me on line how she is having a good time everyday 🤗.

Renewal first tank drinking comparison ③. The last one is SESAME 🤗. The first day, I felt it was different from the previous one... I felt it had a little bit of a lighter flavor 🤔... I thought the novice was a bit like a day-night kind of thing. But as the day progressed, the flavor started to come out, and the third day was the best because it was juicy and tasty 😋. Yes, it gives a strong Arabashiri feeling, but I think it's the best of all 😚. Now, it's time to announce the results of the J&N drinking comparison, which everyone was thrilled 💓🤗. The result of the old first tank series was satisfactory, wasn't it? But...will there be a reversal this time? ⁉️ Well then, everyone... that's enough! Yes! Everyone is different and everyone is good. This time, we added an additional phrase: "It's good even if you mix them up! So, all the Brothers in the first renewal tank are the winners! I see what you mean...it's like a light Aragashiri, but this one has more sweetness. We had a tearful goodbye 😭 and he flew out of Japan safely in the morning: ✈️ We'll spend the end of the year over there and come back to Japan together after the new year👍. Renewal Hatsu Tank drinking comparison ①. When we heard that the old Hatsubatake series was going to be discontinued, we compared three bottles of it in February of this year 😌. About 10 months later, there was a call from the Sakura City area for the revival of the series. So last Thursday, Nobby, who had some business in the "Mashidaya" area, found the new 3 brothers 🍡 and brought them back home 🤗They had just been put on the shelves and the price tags were not put on yet👍. We usually keep a low profile at liquor stores 😑, but when people say "thank you so much for all your help", that's what happens when you buy 100 bottles 😅. Jay comes home and says, "What do you want to drink this weekend?" Well, we, J&N, have to compare drinks first. ‼️ So we took a group photo with our hearts racing after our first tank in a long time 🤳. The old bottle was easy to see the amount of oli, but after the renewal, the black bottle makes it hard to tell the amount of oli or the remaining contents 🤔. I'll make love to you! Yes, this aroma~☺️ I take a sip and oooohhhhhh...! Unmai sweet and sour 😋. Nobby says it feels like a wooden vat 😚. This is like a sweetness gently wrapped in a sourness 😙. It's been a while since I opened the outer lid and the bottle automatically opened 😳I was surprised, but I was able to save the day because I was holding the bottle with my hand 😮‍💨 I'll make love to you The aroma is fruity and ripe 🍎. The sourness of the wine makes it refreshing and easy to drink, even with the added sweetness 😙. I feel like most of these white labels are sour, which we love 🤗. Two light, easy-drinking sakes followed, and did I really drink that one? I'm doubting my memory 🫢.

Following on from Shoryu Yomogina, here is another sake 🍶 that we got at Isetan Shinjuku! We had been saying we wanted to try it 😅but we couldn't find it at the liquor store we go to 🥲You were lamenting why it wasn't in Utsunomiya ❓. We finally got it 😁 with the power of epicurean! This is Mr. u from Yoshida Kura ‼️ I'll make love to you! I'm going to make love to you! I love it! The aroma is mild and not sweet ☺️ When you pour it into a sake cup, it is full of bubbles! The first sip has a gentle sweetness and acidity with a slight gassy feeling 😋 but not too sweet, the fresh acidity brings it all together with the umami 😙It's 13 degrees so it's easy to sip 🤗. By the way, we got this one a little while ago, after we went to Lyodoen. After a leisurely lunch, we went to another destination, the MLB ⚾️ official store ‼️ where we were looking for Dodgers goods 🤗 Of course we were looking for a lot of things, but they were all expensive 😳 Among them, we found a hoodie we liked, but the price tag was over 30,000😰 What to do Jay...okay, first things first! Let's try it on first! I came in and found that it was a good size, but it was very heavy 😓Noby was too big and I couldn't find a size that fit... I came back to myself and just did some eye candy 😌.

I thought 🤔 this might be a fraud 🤔 and looked at the internet information, and it seems that there is indeed such a thing, and if you look closely, the phone number of the sender is also suspicious 😰. I called the courier to return it because I was scared. The liquor store we are most indebted to in Tochigi Prefecture is 🤔Mashidaya 👍and we were able to welcome the 100th bottle of commemorative sake from "Mashidaya" to our home: ‼️ It is obvious that such a commemorative sake should be Tochigi sake, isn't it? We agreed that a collaboration sake would be good 🤗. Mashidaya and Ona teamed up to create this special order product! We were told that Mashidaya understood our wishes and specially prepared a bottle by examining one tank of the brewing process. I know, I know... that feeling... well, let's not mention it now 😌. I'll make love to you The aroma is sweet ☺️ I love the way the aroma is so sweet 😋 but it's a good sweetness 😋. It's as good as the sign says 😄. I just checked the label again and it says "very tasty" 😅. The second largest liquor store that J&N buys from is Saito-san with 61 bottles, followed by Megada-san with 50 bottles 😌. 🤗 Well, the Utsunomiya area is really a paradise for sake drinkers, blessed with good liquor stores. Thank you Mashidaya for your love of Tochigi 🥰.

Here is a bottle that I received from a sake friend a while ago! It's been sitting in the fridge, but it's our first Morimin. ‼️ For people like us who always use Mori🌳 as a walking course, this might be the perfect bottle for you. I was looking forward to drinking it since it was highly rated by everyone at Sake-no-wa, including Mr. Wakata, Mr. Bouken, and Ms. Ane 😋. But I have not had this cloudy white bottle in a long time 🤔. I'll make love to you I love it 😋 I take a sip and it's soooooooooooooooooooooooo good 😊. At first I thought it was a little sweet, but it's fresh, fruity and easy to drink 😋 Or maybe it's more accurate to say that I taste it rather than drink it 😌. I thought it was going to be a traditional Japanese pop song from the looks of it, but eh...! It's a good pop song 😙...very unexpected 😄. I couldn't drink it all at once, so I split it over several days and enjoyed it 😊. I don't know how it came to be like this 🤔 but it's the J&N family tradition to describe something impressive as "XXXMIZAWA0mi" 😅. We named this sake "Doromizawa Doromi" to express our affection for it 😆. What the heck...

Tochigi Lunch - Night Out Drinking: Finished After adding one more dish, we finished off with a heated sake from Kamikimoto 🤗It was plump and delicious! We stayed for about two hours, but the food was reasonably priced and the sake was delicious! No wonder it's a popular restaurant 😊. It was a cold 🥶 night after that, but we returned to Utsunomiya station at a quick pace and walked further west for about 15 minutes to finish up! We arrived at Izakaya Shosuke, which is often featured in Solitary Gourmet and other TV shows. ‼️ When I opened the door and asked inside, there were many empty seats! I asked, "Do you have a reservation?" When I told them I didn't, they asked me if I had a reservation. I told him that I didn't have a reservation and he said ❌...😱It looked like it was empty...but it couldn't be helped, I would like to come back again 😌. By the way, I took a sudden weekday off this time. The night before, we talked about going somewhere 🤔 since it was a consecutive holiday, and the idea of going to Yamagata, which I have never visited before, came up. ‼️ but since it was late, we couldn't come up with a plan 😓 We decided to spend it slowly... so we made a reservation only for dinner at Oto's. The next morning was sunny and ☀️, and Nobby suggested, "Let's go out! The next morning it was sunny and , and Nobby suggested that we go out and have fun 🤗We didn't go to Yamagata and ended up going around the neighborhood, but it turned out to be a lot of fun! Tochigi Lunch - Night Out Drinking (3) The first Hidakami was quickly absorbed along with the sashimi, so next we ordered a spicy ten (辛天), which we had been curious about but hadn't had a chance to drink yet! I took a sip and wondered if it was dry or not ❓It was fresh and dry with even a hint of sweetness 😋. Nirutaro-san also went to this restaurant at the Kenmin-kai! The menu includes a 3,000 yen omakase 70% course, which is designed so that you can have your drinks with a 70-minute stomach, which is also a hit with the hearts of sake drinkers 😊. And the restaurant is so busy that you would think it was Friday night? It's so busy that you'd think it was Friday night! It's not far from the station, but this is great ‼️ and the part-timers are very conscious and attentive 👍I wish we could use it for prefectural meetings and such 🤔. I'm a Michelin guy ⁉️🤣. Next up was Kouji's Dai-harakuchi Hatsushibori-shibori-which had a nice bitterness and astringency on top of the umami, making it the driest of the bunch 😋Surrounded by all these great snacks, even though I knew I had to drink it slowly, it really made the sake go down the drain! The course ended with a bowl of rice topped with milt gohan (rice with milt)! It was delicious too! I'm at about 7 minutes sober and hungry. But I think I'll drink some more! to be continued

Tochigi Daytime - Nighttime Outside Drinking (2) After leaving Kanuma, we took a bus 🚌 to Utsunomiya and made a U-turn 🤗. In order to reduce the nira feeling 😅 in our mouths, we went into a coffee shop in front of the station and had a parfait 🍦 & coffee ☕️ while our cell phones and we took a short recharge 🔌 break. After that, we walked to Mekada Sake Brewery to fill our stomachs! We went through the sakes we've had before like HIRO-chan, Yukigumo, Yukidaruma ☃️, etc. 💃 and got the Tsuneyama and Iraka that we were interested in👍. But when I saw your post, I regretted a little 😓 that I should have bought HIRO-CHAN Nigori too. After dusk🌆, the next place I headed to was Oto, a restaurant I've been wanting to visit for a long time: ❗️ This popular restaurant is located in a residential area about a 15-minute walk from the east exit of the station. I had made a reservation the night before 🤗. We toasted with beer 🍻 and then switched to sake! First we started with Hidakami, which Ars-san also drank 🤗Kochira is a mouth opener! Lucky✌️ I had to wait until the sake arrived to eat some sashimi 🍶 and then I had a big gulp of hikakami 😌pya~‼️ yeahhhh 😚 it all goes well together! Even on a Tuesday night, the restaurant was packed with customers. And with the parade of tsuzumami, one sake bottle will be finished in no time 😋Now, on to the next....

Tochigi Lunch - Night Out Drinking ①. On Tuesday, I suddenly had a day off... I decided to go to Kanuma! and we started our activities in the morning.... Kanuma is a city of 90,000 people in Tochigi 😅I'm sorry it's not a major place name like Kyoto 🙄. Now, let's get back on track💦. We took a bus 🚌 to "Micchan Soba" near Shin-Kanuma Station, which I had been curious about after watching Ujikakuten on YouTube! We arrived at our destination after about an hour's bus ride including connections🤗. The restaurant opened at 11:30 and was packed right away. ‼️ We succeeded in getting a seat right after the opening! We ordered Chilli Soba, Chilli Kakiage, and Chilli Soba Yaki Sushi. And what was the fresh pickled vegetables served as a side dish? And what was the new pickled vegetables that came out as a side dish? Yes, you know what it is 🤣. If anything, this was the best chives I've ever had! I added some spicy konjak and ordered a bottle of sake to fight off this army of chives. It was a powerful opponent, but it had an earthy flavor that enveloped them all 😋. We were very satisfied with the taste of everything 😋 and left Kanuma after a quick sightseeing tour of Shin-Kanuma station with its fairy-like atmosphere 😅 with the smell of chives wafting around us. Tochigi Ai surrounded by chives 🥰. to be continued
