The end of the year is the time for Tochigi sake🤗But...it seems like I haven't had a drink for a while 🧐, so I looked back at the sake cup and realized it's been two months 😱Sorry 🥲. I'm sorry 󿽲 So I'm back on track now. I'll make love to you The aroma is like Omachi The first sip has a mild umami and a gentle sweetness, but it's sharp and finishes refreshingly clean. It's a perfect harmony 😚! It's a perfect harmony 😋. On Monday, Jay's last day of work, his son, who has been busy since the beginning of the year, returned to Utsunomiya until the end of the year! I finished up work early and met him at Utsunomiya around 6:00 p.m. We toasted at Sushi Katei Takumi near the station where we had made reservations 🍻After that, we walked to a Chinese restaurant to meet his request to have Chinese food😇I checked my phone to check the bus time for my return just in case. Hmmm ⁉️8am is the last bus 😳 Is that possible? It seems that was the case with the year-end timetable, but I ended up taking a cab home 😓. Hang in there Utsunomiya ‼️ save the day for the 🥺🥺. So, thank you all for your continued support of J&N Diary and occasional Sake🍶 this year. 🙇🏻🙇🏻‍♀️ I wish you all a very happy and drunken New Year! This one says "Autumn" on the label, and until I posted this I thought it was a leftover autumn sake 🧐, but when I looked closer I realized it was a new sake, the first one squeezed in mid-October 🤗. I'll make love to you The aroma is a gorgeous citrusy one 😌. The first sip is a gorgeous citrusy one 😌 and the noobie commented 😍 wow this is delicious 😍 it's so fruity that it floods the mouth ‼️ and yet it's not sweet but has a piquant feeling 😙 the aftertaste is pineapple-like and lingers on the palate ☺️ this is soooooooo good! I mean, it's soooo good! By the way, while everyone was choosing their favorite drinks for Christmas Eve 🎄, J&N were accompanied by a new student, Mr. Wine, who was among the children we brought from Nagano 😇Yes, Mr. Wine! It's Mr. Sogape's white wine 🤗. When we went to Hara Shoten and looked at the fridge, we found two bottles of Sogape red wine per person 💡 but we like white wine, so Nobby asked if there was any white wine? He said, "One bottle per person," and opened a cardboard box and served it to us. ‼️ We had enjoyed a lunchtime drink the day before, so we thought about skipping the alcohol, but we decided to just toast to the occasion...but as you know, we can't stop drinking once we get started 🥳 and it's 12 degrees Celsius! We drank our fill! The sake sogapé was absolutely delicious 😌.

The end of the year's annual lunchtime drinking party in Tokyo (2) As we started walking, our daughter called us on LINE to say "Come on!" 🤔It might not be a bad idea to see where she works, so we took a short walk to Otemachi💦Country parents hugging everyone at the building where the company is located😆Daughter more reserved than usual at work 🥺A short chat and bye-bye 👋. Then we finished up at Tokyo station and went to an izakaya for a mega highball chaser 😋The sake we ordered was the "Atago no matsuri" (‼️) which had a sake AI that would select the sake based on your mood 🤔I chose the dry one for the sashimi without relying on the AI 🤭. After that, I had a drink at Hasegawa Sake Shop next door, which was Aizu Musume Nigori🤗I wanted to drink it and it was delicious 😋. Then, my daughter who had just finished her work sent me a line saying she wanted to meet up with me! But my daughter was quick to spot a returning customer and found a seat for us ‼️ The three of us sat side by side at the counter for an hour or so and had an unexpectedly good time drinking and eating😇. We took the bullet train home and arrived home after 9pm🥱Slurping cup ramen together, we said, "It was a fulfilling day🥹. I looked at my phone and saw that I had walked 20,000 steps😳I fell asleep with a good amount of tiredness and a garlic feeling in my mouth🧄😴.

The annual end-of-year Tokyo lunchtime drinking (1) Here we go 😊First, a stroll on the first floor of the New Shinbashi Building 🔍It's interesting to see all the different stores 😄And at the end of the escalator going down to the B1F, we found the "Resting Underground Mall" 💡. First, we had a toast at New Niko-Niko Niko with meat tofu and kushikatsu with beer 🍻, then added a highball 😋, which was a bit Showa-era for me 😁. I wanted to visit various stores, so I made a quick stop and moved to the first floor! We were fans of Youtuber Tacchan and wanted to visit this restaurant at least once 🥹. The smell of garlic wafted through the air 🧄I decided before entering the restaurant to order stir-fried greens, garlic fried rice, and of course, a beer! My wish came true and it was delicious 😍but there was a huge amount of garlic! A good start," we said as we explored the building! The upper floors were filled with massage parlors with women in mini-skirts sitting at the entrances 😳I felt like I was walking in the wrong place😅. Then J&N left Shimbashi and started walking towards Tokyo station! I've been wanting a bottle of this since I saw Termat's post! I saw both "Ote" and "Ote" were on sale 🤔I was too pricey to buy one 😅. So here is Tsuneyama's autumn sake "Wase" ‼️I bought it at the beginning of October, but I drank it late 🥲. I bought it at the beginning of October but it's been a while since I've had a bottle! I'll make love to you The aroma is fruity 😌. I thought it was going to be sweet and tasty, but the sourness gave way to a sharp sharpness 😙Noby said "this is delicious 😊" 🤗. I'll have to try the "Oketo" as well... And on Tuesday, I took a paid day off to go to Ana Hachimangu Shrine in Waseda for the annual Ichiyo Raikoi, leaving home before 7am 🚃When I arrived there before 10am, there was already a long line 😳I stood in line for a while and got it safely ‼️ Now I should not have any money problems 😄. After that, I walked to Shinjuku to visit the graves for the year-end 🙏 and finish my business in the morning 🥳 and then it was time to go to Shinbashi for lunch 🚌 by bus 🚌 while sightseeing around Tokyo! When I got off in front of Shimbashi station, I saw some kind of queue 👀 it was the last day of the year end jumbo sales that day! J&N Living in Ichikawa (2) On the fourth night of living in Ichikawa, we scouted out izakaya (Japanese-style pub) 😄 even though it was a weekday. We ordered the "Tsumami" course and chose the opening sake, Jyushidai ❣️, for 700 yen for a single sake 😳 Isn't it amazing? ⁉️ and they told us that they charge double the cost of all their sake 😍Great store 🥹. I continued with dry sake 😙Mansaku no Hana +2 => Toyo Bijin +4 => Ura-Kiyama +10 to accompany the sake that kept going up 😚 but I found an unknown name "My Daughter" on the sake menu on the wife's handwritten bill 🔍. We ordered and the second picture came out! We both looked at each other 😳Eh⁉️ this is not "My daughter" but "Wakamusume" 🤭. Really? I didn't know that😅But My daughter is a better name😊, said the owner. We had a good time with the regulars and ended up drinking two strong highballs afterwards. Drinking out on a Tuesday night was fresh but I drank too much~😵‍💫 But I was able to free my sister for three whole days including the trip 😊. By the way, it's been a while since my sister's last overnight trip, but we chose Kamogawa as our destination! So, I thought it's been a long time since I've been away..........................................eh⁉️ same Chiba 😆. Still, she saw the sea 🏝️, picked up some shellfish 🐚, and relaxed at the hotel 😌...she said it cleared her mind 🤗☀️

Living in J&N Ichikawa (1) Two posts ago, I wrote that I stayed with my father for four nights for a reason. I wrote that we stayed with my father for four nights for a reason. The reason was... my sister, who always takes care of my father while working as a self-employed person, hasn't been able to travel overnight for a while 😢, so my daughter took her out for a trip 🥹 and from Saturday to Wednesday she was at J&N Care during that time 😊. And on Sunday afternoon, I bathed my father 🛁 and watched him fall asleep tired and then we went for a walk to the bar 🛁. When we arrived at the restaurant we were interested in, there was less than an hour left until it opened 😓 We went into another restaurant for a quick bite to eat and drink to kill time, and then headed back to "Seasonal Kappou Jubei" (‼️). At the entrance of the restaurant, there was a signboard signed by Mr. Rui Yoshida, which made our anticipation grow! We first toasted with Tengu Mai (a toast) 🍶 We ordered stewed fish, potato salad, and grilled Spanish mackerel! All of them were good, but the Spanish mackerel was outstandingly delicious! The owner of the restaurant is now working alone since his mother passed away, but he and his wife, who came late, enjoy conversing with the regulars and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Next, we went to Shuho for our first drink! We ended the night with a fin of pufferfish sake with daikon-ni (radish stew) as a side dish 😌. My impression of the sake... it was all very good... ☺️

On this day, I carefully defrosted a fence of tuna sashimi that my father had given me as a year-end gift! I washed the surface in salt water, drained it well, vacuum-packed it, soaked it in ice water, and it was ready in about 2 hours! Isn't it a very beautiful fillet 🤗. I paired this with a bottle of sake, also a gift from my daughter's boyfriend 🇺🇸! He also visited Yamanashi Meizo a little before his visit to Yamaguchi😄! I'll make love to you! Refreshing aroma The first sip is a little bit sweet! The quality of the sake is quite robust! Perfect with the sashimi of the day! You know what you're doing when you choose a dry sake! And while we were drinking this, we decided to go see a movie for the first time in a while! We decided that a quiet movie would be good, so we chose "Back Home in Glory"! It was a long movie, over 2 hours on a Sunday afternoon, but there were many touching and sad scenes such as friendship with friends, family ties, and the relationship with the Hanshin baseball team 😅we tend to have tear gland collapses these days due to our age, so we were both shaking and crying a lot from the middle 😭. This was good 🤔 but I still want to see movies with happy and fun endings! That's my conclusion 😆. We had a late lunch with coffee because we were driving 🚙 that day, but next time I'd like to have a lunch drink after watching a fun movie 😙.

The timeline is all over the place because I didn't post it right away😅 I had a little reason to stay with my father for 4 nights at the end of November 🤗. We bought frozen gyoza from "Minmin" and "Masatsugu" in Utsunomiya and had a gyoza party on the hot plate we brought 🎉. We had a bit of a hard time getting the dumplings to cook, but they tasted great 💦 and were a hit 😋 We also grilled sausages, had yakisoba, and washed it down with beer and shochu, and had a great time as a family for the first time in a long time♪ I was talking to him at the time, and he told me that he had a chance to visit a sake brewery due to his work in Japan, so he went to Yamaguchi Prefecture! First he visited the Nagayama Honke Brewery in Ki and then the Asahi Brewery for Otter Otter and was amazed at the difference in facilities and equipment😳. But he also explained that some of the processes are handmade 🤔It's not all automatic, there are also human hands involved in the tradition! I guess he wanted to tell them that! So here is what he gave me as a souvenir! We drank it last weekend! I'll make love to you as I always do! The aroma is like water. The first sip is refreshing and crisp with a nice dry taste. You know what we like!

Nagano Sake Shop Tour (7) After that, we stopped by Shimizu-ya in Saku one last time to finish our shopping! Then we left Nagano and strolled around Matsuida in Gunma Prefecture, where Jay used to work 🚙 but the town was completely rusted out 😢 the stores we knew were gone... The only sign of a snack shop that was left! I wonder if they are still in business? Sentimental, I decided to head home, but then I spotted a sign that said "Roadside Station Myogi"! There was a roadside station on the way up the mountain road! There, "Momiji-jiru" (maple leaf soup) was being served free of charge👍It was warming and delicious as it was chilly and raining 😋. Now for the sake! We got this for the first time at Shimizuya 🤗. I'll make love to you! The aroma has an apple type feel to it 😌. It's a low alcohol (13%), but it's unfiltered and has a solid core of apple flavor that makes it very comfortable to drink. ‼️ The sweet and sourness becomes more and more pronounced and you can drink it comfortably. It is a bottle that you can drink comfortably. The third picture was taken at a small park next to Kiyomizuya because I realized I didn't take a picture of the autumn leaves 🍁. There are still 3 unopened bottles including a new student's wine 😅For the time being, this is the end of the Nagano liquor store tour report! I'll make love to you!

Nagano Sake Shop Trip (6) I've been so busy with my trip to Nagano 😅I've been so busy that my sake activities tend to get delayed 😓. Well, the next morning after a good night's sleep or lack of it 🥱, we met an old man at the breakfast buffet who was a heavy drinker, and he looked like he had just had a second helping of rice 🍚 and back again 😳. After leaving the hotel, we went to the liquor store we discovered by chance last time 🚙 and there he was, Mr. Katsikoma ‼️ We had to spend more than 4,000 yen, but Nobby encouraged us to buy some sake since we were here 😊! The first bottle was decided to be the cosy Jurokuyo! Then I was looking in the fridge for the rest and found a bottle that Pon-chan had drunk a while ago 👀 It was a bit expensive 😅 but it was good enough for 4000 yen! So, here's Matsuo-san from Nagano for our first drink 🤗. I'll make love to you The aroma is fruity 😌. I'm going to make love to you 😌! It seems to be dry 🤔 but it is unexpectedly sweet 😋 and bitter 😚. It's like "sweet on the way in, bitter on the way out! I wish they would make it a motto and put it on the label😇 I split it into two days, which is unusual, but the second day was sweeter as Pon-chan wrote 😙, but I only had a cup of it left on the second day 😆. Trip to Nagano Sake Bars (5) All-you-can-drink buffet at the inn! Beer, wine, shochu, sake, and a bottle of Keiryu 🍶 but on this day, we had beer followed by red and white wine 😋. An old man at another table with a big family poured a glass full of Keiryu into a cup instead of a cup 😅I can't tell you how many times we went back and forth 😅It was a quintessential Showa style drinking 🍶. The lighting in the hotel was dark and the lights were turned off at 9pm. Maybe the management has changed and they have cut costs 🧐. We went to bed early without turning on the TV 🛌. I woke up and looked at the clock to see that I hadn't slept well in a long time 🥱 and it was 11:00 ⏰If I was younger, I would have said, "Oh no, I overslept ‼️" but it was actually 11:00 at night 😆 and it was still today😓and from there I slept every hour and got up and repeated every hour until morning arrived! I miss my younger days when I could sleep as long as I wanted 😢. And that's why I'm drinking Nagano sake! As J&N readers with good memories may know, I made a mistake 🫢 and drank Toyoka-san, and ever since then I've been looking for the "賀" one, Toyoka-san. ‼️ I'm so excited to have found it 🥹. Nagano Sake Shop Tour (4) Here's the trip report again: ‼️ We headed to an inn in Iizuna Kogen beyond Nagano city 🚙 Actually, after booking online the night before, I checked YouTube to see what kind of inn it was, but I could only find one from 9 years ago 😑... We talked about what we would do if we didn't go there😰, but we found a sign on the mountain quite high up! I'm glad I found it: 😮‍💨 As soon as we entered the entrance, we saw an open view in front of us and found a single inn in the back! The rooms are quite spacious, but there are not many things in them, so there is plenty of space! All-you-can-drink buffet for dinner🤗A group of 6 people was seated diagonally behind us, but I think I've seen them before 🧐...! I tried to report to Nobby that they were the same people we saw when we were people-watching at the grass whistle 😳 and he said, "Right 🤭!" I tried to report it to Nobby. He seemed to have noticed it too, but I didn't think it was such a coincidence that we met again at an inn on top of a mountain from a crowded soba noodle shop in Ueda 🫢 in the vast Nagano area...! I'm going to make love to you for the first time in a very long time 😅. The aroma is fruity and has a nice atmosphere 😌. I'm sure you'll be able to find a way to make it work for you........ to be continued

Here's a short break from Nagano travel stories 🎌. This is a bottle of Kawaguchi Natto that I had wanted to try before my Nagano trip. ‼️ I knew it was sold at the Megada Sake Shop, but I finally got to see the actual bottle 🤗. I've been wanting to make love to you for a while now, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do so 😅. I'll make love to you The aroma doesn't smell like natto 😊. I'm not sure if it will pull strings 😆 I'll try it afterwards. It didn't pull the strings 😆 but the lingering deliciousness made it easy to drink even at 17 degrees 😇 Now back to ⌛️ the week after the Nagano expedition! The weekend before last, the weather was nice so we went for a 7km walk 💦 to Utsunomiya station instead of the usual forest 🌳 on ☀️ Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed a quick gyoza🥟 & beer🍺 at our favorite restaurant, Karan, followed by a rare sweet🧁 & coffee☕ and a healthy bus🚌 ride home😌. And just when I was about to finish... I was about to finish with 🤔I think it's about time❓Yes! I realized that J&N has entered its 5th year after 4 full years 🤗. It's not Tochigi sake, which is unusual for an anniversary celebration 😅I will continue to try to be as persistent as natto and as helpful to everyone as natto bacteria 😅🙇🏻🙇🏻‍♀️

Nagano Sake Shop Tour (3) After leaving Okazaki-san, we followed the exact same route as before😅Go to the next sake shop, Sake-no-Osaka-ya🚙. Last time I was here, there were a lot more rare sake in the fridge 🤔This time there was not that much, or maybe it was just the time of year? Or did they change the lineup? I got it at Ikusakaya because I was looking at the fridge and I was like, "What? I got it at Ikusakaya because I had a strong memory that I took a quick look at it on my last Nagano Sake Trip and it was really good 🤗. I was surprised to hear about the fire at Furuya Sake Brewery on the news after that 😰 but with the cooperation of Osawa Sake Brewery, I was able to buy a rare bottle of Osawa & Wawa for the hanpukai (distribution)! I went to the cashier with a big hug! The shopkeeper asked me, "Do you know this bottle?" I told him that I knew about it and picked it up right away! Please drink it and have a good time 😊. I'll make love to you! The aroma is sweet 😌. I think it's sweet 😌! It has a strong flavor 😚 but it's gentle on the palate 😋 combined with a nice bitterness, it's a mature bottle 😌. After this, we will head to our hotel in Iizuna Kogen, just beyond Nagano 😅. to be continued

Nagano Sake Shop Tour (2) We left Hara Shoten and vowed to revisit next February-March, aiming for Sogape 🥹. Then we decided to have soba noodles for lunch! And we talked about eating soba for lunch! I remembered Maecin-san had eaten Soba in Ueda a while ago 🤔I checked out Sake-no-wa and decided to go to "Kusabue" ‼️ It was my first visit and it was very crowded during lunch time on weekends😳But checking out "Sake-no-wa" and observing the people waiting 👀 made the wait time seem short. I didn't realize that this would lead to later realizations... When my turn came, I ordered a light Morisoba and Kurumi Soba with one assorted tempura! The soba arrived right away, but it was a lot of food😅. After I thought I had eaten quite a bit, I unwrapped the soba that was lurking at the bottom and the amount came back and I added one more serving ♾️ loop ⁉️😳 and as a result, I was starving 😵! After that, I was not going to go there, but I parked my car at Seven and took a walk to Okazaki-san to eat 😅I was confused because the entrance seemed to have changed 😅I got two bottles of Shinshu Kamerei here: ‼️ First I'm going to make love to you 🤗. The aroma is gorgeous and fruity 😌. I thought it was a classic when I took a sip, but then the sweetness came and it was a little sour 😋 It's very cost effective! I finished it with J&N's standard of sweetness but loose 😙. to be continued

Nagano Sake Boutique Tour (1) The weekend before last, we had planned to go to Chiba, but it was suddenly postponed on Friday night, so we were free. Okay...let's go to Nagano! Let's go to Nagano ‼️ but we don't have the same vitality as the Tsubajiya family 😅 so we decided to go overnight 🤗. Then we looked for a place to stay and booked a reasonably priced hotel with all-you-can-drink buffet around 10am, and left at 7am the next morning! The last time I went on a Nagano sake trip was in March 2023, so it's been about 2 and a half years 🤗. The drive to Nagano was a beautiful sunny day with no traffic jam, so we first visited Shimizuya's Koumi Honten! Just to be sure, Nobby asked, "Do you have any Sogape sake?" Nobby asked, "Do you have any Sogape sake?" and was told that it usually comes out in February and March and is sold out right away, so they don't have any now. The sake trip is still going on, and I'm going to drink the sake I got at Hara's. I told shinsaku3 & Pekho that I wanted to drink it. I'll make love to you! The aroma is...! It's so sweet and sour and fresh! I'm going to drink it for the first time........ The third one is the kids I brought from Nagano 🤗I only have one bottle of wine in my 👋. to be continued

I can't seem to keep up the pace of posting 😅. Time flies and I feel like it's been a long time 🤔Here's one I got on the night of the Dodgers WC win 🤗. I was watching the game with my sister at my father's room in Ichikawa and we were all so happy when Roxas and Sumichan hit a HR⚾ and the last double play 🥳 My father, who is hard of hearing and usually difficult to talk to, shouted "Shut up ‼️" twice 😆. Then we came back to Utsunomiya in the evening 🚙, bought some light snacks at Seven, and started the celebration! But the main snacks of the day were YouTube videos of the game and player interviews 🎤 But Betts' house is awesome 😳. We wanted something light 🤗 so we chose this Mimurosugi 🤗. Coincidentally, this is the first bottle of Mimuro Sugi I've had since February this year, when I also had a bottle of Bodhi Hashi, Rohafu Oorigara-mi 😙. I'll make love to you now ♬Congratulations on your victory 🥂! The aroma is sweet and fruity 😌. The first sip is a nice sweetness. Hmmm? It's time for him to come...here he comes! Here comes the acidity team ‼️ and with their addition, a pleasant flavor rushes through the mouth 🤗It's clean and crisp, and I finished it off!

I saw bouken-san, Hissan-san, kurumafu-san and others posting on sakéwa and thought, "I must have this! I thought, "I must have this!" Here it is: ‼️ When Nobby went to Mashidaya, he couldn't find it in the fridge, so he asked the cashier if he could have it 🤗 and the cashier said he didn't know about it 😳I showed him the picture and explained it to him and he apologized that he didn't know 😅No, no! I'm sorry I didn't know. I couldn't help but go to Hitomi Sake Shop to buy it! This is a great liquor store where you can buy sake that you think might not be left anymore😊. I'll make love to you! The aroma is gorgeous and fruity 😌. I'm going to love it 😌 The aroma is gorgeous and fruity! I think it's sweet! I drank it in a gulp, but the aroma comes through quite well, so I think it would be sweeter if I drank it in a Riedel 😋. Still, it was sharp and crisp, as if to say, "It's dry! The feeling that the wine is sharp and tight is quintessential Ona-san 😙. We are the type of people who drink mostly by feel, so this is a perfect bottle for us. ‼️ I want this one to be umakuchi (delicious) or sweet and sour! I think there might be a series of "Umakuchi" or "Sweet & Sour"! Maybe we can make a series called "Umami" or "Sweet and Sour" 😄. I think someone might say "Give me some money 🤩" 😆. Love Tochigi with a lot of sensitivity 🥰.
