Discovered at a local AEON that is a little rusty.
Precious Hokuriku sake.
Since the last sake meeting, I have been curious about sake from Fukui, so I picked up a bottle.
Although it claims to be dry, it is a little, why not, it does not feel too dry, and it has a plumpness that I like.
Eiheiji Hakuryu! It seems to be an ANA onboard memorial!
This is my first check-in at Sakenowa, but I'm drinking there!
The aroma is quite gorgeous, not quite fruity?
When you drink it, the sweetness is quite strong at first! It's sweet like sugar cane. And then, it gets sharp, but it stays quite a bit. It has a pithy feel to it.
In conclusion, it was not for me 😭It's too bad because it's quite expensive for a Hakuryu.
I find many Hakuryu's to be quite easy to drink. The cosmetics are awesome too.
However, there are some that suit me and some that don't... I like the Mizuiteki, Dragon Water, and Yuu series quite a lot, but I don't like Hakuryu Nyan or the sticky sweetness. This sake was in the latter category.
I see some reviews saying it's pretty dry, I wonder if there are differences from lot to lot or something? I'm not sure if there is a difference between lots or not 🧐I would drink the tekiteki series if it were priced this way myself.
memo
One of the sake brought to the sake club meeting the other day.
I decided to take it because it had a refreshing jacket like my Ippongi.
I said, "Oh, it's delicious," and he said, "That's because it's from Fukui,
I said, "That's because it's Fukui," and he said, "Oh, sure!
Ah, indeed!
The picture is out of focus, but it's just for my notes.
Hakuryu Dragon Water Silky light nigori limited edition.
Mild milky pleasant grain ginjo aroma.
The top clearness has a slippery texture and a clean, fresh mouthfeel.
When mixed with ori, the strength increases. The texture on the tongue becomes thicker and the umami spreads.
The moderate acidity, beautiful umami, and sweetness are pleasant, and the acidity continues from the mid-palate and tightens up in the latter half.
This year is another good one.
I was attracted by the tag recommending it for an introductory drink...
I was also attracted by the "white koji brewing" tag, so I chose it.
It had just the right amount of acidity as I expected and was refreshing to drink!
I remember it as
[Thank you to the manager of Tan for retiring next week].
So, the long-awaited sake party.
We started with this item.
Eiheiji Hakuryu Summer Limited Edition Junmai Ginjo.
I thought it was mainly refreshing and sharp, rather than having a strong impression of acidity, which is typical of summer.
[The third drink at Poziya 🍶.
Next up was this one that my dad didn't even have in his stock ✨.
Hakuryu Junmai Ginjo Usu Nigori
Soft, sweet, milky rice aroma, strong creamy mouthfeel with a crisp acidity, and a calm, soft aftertaste.
Add more entrée 🍴.
Spicy Gizzard" which was on the recommended menu, deep-fried gizzard with a lot of garlic, garlic sprouts, and curry powder on top, it had a strong aroma, so it was not a good match for sake 😅.
I think it would be a great partner with beer 🍺, so next time I'll have it with beer 🥰.
