Here is the second drink of the three local sake tasting contest!
Bon Tokishirazu
Slightly smoky aroma, slightly smoky sweetness on the palate with a lingering smoky finish.
There is something strange about it, maybe it's twisted?
I started to wonder about that, so I quickly drank it up 😅.
When I was over 20 years old, the first sake I ordered at an izakaya was this "Bon Tokishirazu" or "Kuroryu Itchorai" 🥰.
When one of my friends drank too much and got sick, his famous line "Just kill me! It's still talked about among my friends.
It was a three-day weekend, but I only had Saturday off ✨.
My father-in-law had invited me to go with him to eat crab 🦀 every year, so I went with my brother-in-law and his family who came back home from Shizuoka 🙇.
Last year I was unable to attend due to my own work, so I'm grateful that they were able to accommodate my schedule this year ✨.
From the first appetizer [sashimi], [seiko crab], [grilled crab], [crab sashimi], and lastly [boiled crab] 🦀, all with a yellow tag to symbolize [Echizen crab]. 🏷️
Then let's start drinking from noon 🍶.
The restaurant had a 3 types of locally brewed sake to compare, so we ordered this one!
First, let's start with the sake cup on the right!
Kuzuryu Itsuhin
Clear aroma, clear taste, and a refreshing aftertaste.
A stable marriage of Fukui sake and Echizen crab.
Good evening, Mr. Gyve 🌙
It's Echizen crab season 🥳I remember when I traveled to Fukui in the past, I had a bowl of seiko crab called Matsuda seiko-don and it was delicious 😆 I was also surprised at the crab which was much more realistic than Kani-Douraku! 🦀🤣

Sotogahama Junmai Ginjo Haikara
The same mellow melon-like aroma, melon-like sweetness and umami, mellow lingering taste and slight bitterness.
Similar flavor profile, but if you compare Monochrome and Haikara, Haikara has slightly stronger acidity and bitterness 🤔.
And the fourth one I was told to drink because it's interesting.
I didn't know about this one, but it is a whiskey produced by Nishi Shuzo, which brews Tenpyo and Tominohozan shochu.
I had it on the rocks, but it's quite light in body, so I think it would be drunk with a highball!

After the shocking "Sentori Snowman 2025" was opened, the customer next to me and I ordered and compared the sake we were really interested in, which had been sitting in the cellar before the event 🥰.
Sotogahama Junmai Ginjo Monochrome.
The aroma was like a mellow melon, the taste was sweet and umami, and the finish was mellow and lingering.
I looked at the back of the bottle and saw that this is from the Tasake brewery 😲 I didn't know that. ✨️

After all the drinks had been consumed, one of the other participants brought this year's version of the "Snowman" and we all enjoyed it together 🥰.
However, there was an incident here: ❕️
The first photo shows the gas escaping without opening the bottle because it was laid on its side while being brought to us, and its capacity was reduced to one third as shown in the first photo.
But everyone was curious about the taste even in this state, so we had some 🤣.
Sentori Snowball 2025 (out of gas)
Rich aroma, taste of lactobacillus drink and bitter aftertaste.
In a word, very rich 😋.
I'm sure there are people who would like this but it's a very high class drink.
