I've finished up my public and private schedule, which was a bit of a whirlwind during the New Year's holiday, and I'm taking this week and next week off in lieu of work 💦. I have a three-day weekend next week, so I'm going to pay my annual visit to Kyoto for the first time and take it easy this week by going to the gym and taking a bath to take care of my body 😁. Now, I'm going to sweat out the New Year's drinking and have a relaxing evening drink at home after a long time 🍶. Fukkai Yamadanishiki Nama Sake I was curious about this sake, so I got it 🥰. When I opened the bottle, I could smell a sweet aroma similar to that of ramune or cider. [The sake is a gulp of sake.] The aroma of sweet rice is calm, and the mouthfeel has a slight gaseous feeling, followed by a quiet, mature sweetness, umami, and a long, pleasant aftertaste. [Mokkiri] A cool, refreshing rice aroma, a slight gassy sensation at the tip of the tongue, a subtle sweetness and umami that flows into the body smoothly, and a long, refreshing aftertaste that finishes with a mineral sensation that lingers on the tip of the tongue. [I heard that the hi-seasoned version has more sweetness, so I'm interested in that as well. The nigori sake that was sold together with it also looks delicious! The dish was "yellowtail sashimi from Oita" (🐟️), as fish from Kyushu had just arrived! Yamaoka House (after all these years) 🍜.

January 14 is the first full moon of the year and the first full moon of January [Wolf Moon] 🐺🌕️ The day before, when my family and I gathered at my parents' house for dinner, we saw the almost full moon 🌝 that had begun to rise, so let's have a good tsukimi-zake (sake at the beginning) for another year of delicious tsukimi-zake 😁, so let's have a drink with the sake we chose 🍶. Kibotsuru Shinshu Junmai New Sake from "Kibotsuru" that Maru-san, bouken-san and many others have been raving about ✨. I tried it, but my local liquor store had it in stock and I couldn't resist getting it along with the other sakes 🥰. This time I'll be having it with the Tsuki no Oubai 😋. The aroma is full and slightly melon-like with a sweet rice aroma, a slight gasiness that you can't detect unless you focus on the tip of your tongue, a fresh and penetrating sweet umami, a crisp citrusy acidity, and a gentle sweet aftertaste at the end. Is this junmai sake? I'm sure I'll have to repeat this 🤩and I'd like to pursue other specs as well ✨. Awesome...no wonder Maru-san is so enthusiastic 😋. The third one is one that I found the moon starting to climb 📸. The fourth one is at the Fukui Gokoku Shrine, where I got a red seal and a good luck charm during my lunch break, which are only given on full and new moon days 😁 This time, I got the "watchful moon version". This year, too, I'm going to have a moon-viewing party at 🌕️🍶.

The cold wave hit, but fortunately it finally snowed in my hometown, and the kids were excited to play in the snow 😁. Since I started Sake-no-wa, I have had the opportunity to drink many different kinds of sake, and have tried many different tastes. Now, how do you feel when you drink the sake that got you hooked on sake? 🤔 With that in mind, I opened this bottle of sake with the help of Menshuoh 🍶. Winter Fireworks Junmai Daiginjo. I've been drinking sake mainly since I got it at a yakitori restaurant in Wakkanai! [I've been drinking sake mainly since I got it at a yakitori restaurant in Wakkanai.] Aroma of mellow rice with a strong alcohol content, clear and clean taste, and a sharp sharp finish, with a deep and slightly long aftertaste of rice sweetness, and finally a 16° strength similar to bitterness that lingers in the throat. [Mokkiri] Aroma of mellow rice, a slightly soft mouthfeel with a mineral flavor, and a clean, crisp finish with a cool, refreshing aftertaste. I wanted to serve with seasonal yellowtail, but there were no good ones, so I served Kampachi Toro (yellowtail toro) and Motsu-nabe (motsu nabe) using Sumire nabe soup that I had in Hokkaido. The sharpness of the wine is pleasant as it goes well with oily fish and richly flavored entrées. It's still a delicious and beautiful sake ✨.

Trip time: 13 seconds When I asked my friends to drink this one, they all praised it. January 6 was the first day of work for some of us, but since we couldn't coordinate our schedules, we held our annual "New Year's party with sukiyaki" on that day. The place was the usual favorite, Kicchin Usagi 😁. After saying hello to the proprietress of Usagi and wishing her a happy new year, we started with beer and appetizers to quench our thirst, and then moved on to sake 🍶. We brought in two bottles of sake and the first one we opened was this one ✨. Shinshu Kamerei Yumemizuho. Please refer to the previous review 🙇. The reason why we chose this one this time is because the proprietress is from Suzu city in Noto, Ishikawa prefecture, and the place where she was born and raised was damaged by the earthquake last year, so we chose this one with a wish for the reconstruction! She has been to Suzu several times and was worried about the current situation that is not progressing as well as she would like. She was also concerned about the current situation, so she decided to do what she could to support the recovery efforts by drinking this wine. The proprietress also tasted a little and liked it 😋. I bought 3 bottles of "Yumemizuho" from Okazaki Shuzo in the summer and finished them all 😊. The fun continues with the excellent "Sukiyaki" 🔜.

The aroma of sweet melon filled the area when the bottle was opened, and when I checked the aroma up close, it was mellow and deep melon-like aroma. It's been about 6 years since I had a chance to drink it. Hare sake is really delicious 😋. I also had a bottle of "Ippongi Hatsushibori" from the same brewery that had been aged for 2 months! I had the 2nd day off after the New Year, but I worked from the 3rd to the 6th, including the night shift. [Nigori] Aroma of rich rice aroma, mellow sweetness, and a refreshing aftertaste. Drinking at Shima & Coffee & Sake on New Year's Day I was about to order my last cup of coffee when the master of a local shochu bar came to the bar and after chatting with Shima, he decided to open his favorite drink. Shinsei Amageru First time to drink "Amaeru" 🎉. It has a characteristic aroma, but I can't describe it well. It has a very firm gasiness at the mouth, a sweetness and a soft acidity after the shwash, and a fresh and sweet acidity after the shwash gasiness that goes down your throat. This is delicious. It has a more robust flavor than the Viridian I drank a while ago, but the aftertaste is lighter due to the strength of the gas feeling. The lightness of 8% alcohol and the strong gassiness will surely make you mistake it for champagne if you drink it blind 🍾. I jumped on the Echizen Railway without coffee because I was pressed for time 🚃.

Drinking at Shima & Coffee & Sake in the New Year (3) After comparing "Date Seven", I thought the next one I wanted was "KahayoYoku", a hidden sake announced on Instagram, but unfortunately it was sold out yesterday 😅. Then, let's ask for the one I was curious about when I saw the label. I was wondering what's this on the label 😁. Amezure, Sake Kaiyoshi (Leader of the Sake World) Aroma of rice like a mellow lactic acid drink, gasiness at the mouth, sweetness like a lactic acid drink, and bitterness on the back, followed by a mellow, pleasantly sweet aftertaste, and a slight tightening feeling on the tongue at the end. It's like a Yakult's millege soda. Mr. Shima said it is the same height as a four-pack bottle but has a capacity of 1.5 liters, so it is easy to find a place to put it.

This year, as is customary this year, we went on a drinking spree while making the rounds to greet the in-laws 😁. I wanted to greet them for the New Year, so I went to Shima & Coffee & Sake 🚶. Takashi-san was there cleaning up for the collaboration event, so we kicked off the evening with an Octopus Wiener and a bottle of Black Label 🍺. Now, let's drink! I went to the cellar and found a bottle that was rare for this time of the year, so I compared them 😋. Date Seven Junmai Daiginjo Katsuyama Style Orihime Bottle It has a cool, slightly pear-like rice aroma, a clean mouthfeel with a fruity flavor and a hint of sweetness that finishes with a punchy alcoholic aftertaste. As you get used to drinking it, the impact fades and the fruity and umami flavors come through, making it easy to drink ✨.

Happy New Year 🌄. Please bear with me and my jive ramblings this year 🤣. Well, after taking a nap after a successful night shift on New Year's Eve, I started [drinking] ❗️ I opened a bottle of Jive 2024, the most impressive bottle from the previous year 🍶. Rairaku Junmai Ginjo Abelia Yeast Nama Sake. Sweet floral aroma like nectar filled the air from the moment the bottle was opened. [The sake has a gentle and gorgeous aroma of rice.] The calm and gorgeous aroma of rice, the sweet flavor reminiscent of floral honey, and the lingering aftertaste that leaves you with a sigh of relief, and the bitterness that lingers in the mouth at the end. [Mokkiri.] The same calm, sweet aroma of rice, a sense of gas that you don't notice until you concentrate on drinking, soft sweetness and umami, a pleasant lingering finish, and a hint of bitterness in the soft finish. A cup that relaxes you as you drink more and more of it. From my past experience, I have found that when I drink a wine that I liked once and then drink it again, I sometimes feel that the taste is not quite the same. In the past, I have found that when I drink a bottle that I liked once and then drink it again, I sometimes find the taste strange, but this "Rairaku" is one that I like even more the second time around ✨. Well, since I won the night shift on New Year's Eve again this year, I opened a bottle of sake that I was going to drink on New Year's Eve to finish the year a little early 🍶. Shinshu Kamerei Junmai Ginjyo Yamae Nishiki Kurage Limited Edition. I bought this one when I went to Okazaki Sake Brewery in the summer and have been saving it to drink at the end of the year 😙. [I kept it to drink at the end of the year.] The aroma alone is a trip, with a full-bodied, mellow, sweet aroma of rice, a slight gas feeling on the tip of the tongue, a rich umami and fruity sweetness, and a pleasantly sweet aftertaste that finishes with a sharp finish. Trip time: 19 seconds [Mokkiri.] Rich aroma of rice, a slight gassy sensation on the palate, and a long, pleasant aftertaste that is almost heavenly, from the rich umami and fruity-sweetness to a long, sharp finish. Served with [horse sashimi] and [oden]. This week has been a combination of my oldest daughter's flu and a mountain of work! Work was like a buckwheat noodle shop on New Year's Eve, and as we worked, we kept getting asked to do more and more things, and there was no time to take a break. When my eldest daughter came down with the flu, my brother-in-law was the next one to come down with a fever, but had we been in contact? Then, when he was tested, it turned out to be corona, which is a different strain of infection 😷. From there, the infection spread to my sister's family. Fortunately, we found out that it had not spread to other family members, and we were finally relieved on the 26th. Originally, I was invited to my in-laws' house for a hot spring vacation on the 26th after getting through work, but they cancelled the trip due to the flu infection. The fever had finally broken, so I had a glass of sake to help me through the busy week 🍶. Takeba Shiboritate Nama Nama Sake [Gugumeumimi.] Aroma of mellow rice, clear and silky flavor, sweetness with a hint of alcohol behind it, mellow lingering taste, and a slight bitterness at the end. [Mokkiri] Aroma of firm rice, clear and silky flavor, a little bit of alcohol taste with a hint of sweetness, and a pleasant aftertaste that relaxes the palate.

Hi, Pon-chan! When my siblings and their families gather at my parents' house, we naturally have a joint party on Saturdays and Sundays, with a presend at each family's house 😁. Recently, I've started drinking about 1 gou of beer and 1 gou of sake combined 💦.

Hi, ma-ki-chan! There are 3 versions of "Sunokure" with different rice, so you still have a chance to get it 😁. I think you can buy it almost all year round at Nishimura Sake Shop in Kyoto, which Pon-chan told me about ✨.

Hello Kotaro! I've been drinking this for about a month now, so I think I'm just a little bit drunk 😁. I was drinking hand-rolled sushi when it came to my place because the rice was gone 🍶.

December 21 is my wife's birthday 🎂. What do you want? I asked her what she wanted and she said she had been wanting to eat at Tondo for a while, so I called the restaurant and had her take out 😁. I knew I wanted to pair the food made with local ingredients with a good sake, so I opened a bottle of sake with a versatile flavor and had a glass of sake 🍶. Nabeshima Special Junmai Namaishu [Gugumeumi.] The aroma is sweet like muscat, the mouthfeel is slightly sweet and mellow with a lingering aftertaste that finishes with a slight bitterness on the tongue. [Slight bitterness on the tongue at the end.] Slight aroma of rice with a hint of white grapes, soft sweetness and umami, and a pleasant aftertaste. Long time "Nabeshima" home drinking ✨. I bought this one at Takakura when I was in Osaka for the Sakegawa Off-line Meeting the other day, after Aladdin told me about a distributor in Osaka 😁. I was so impressed with the number of "Nabeshima" bottles on the shelves that I asked the clerk if there was a limit on the number of bottles I could buy. I was so surprised that I asked the shop assistant if there was a purchase limit. I bought another specs, so I will open it around the beginning of the year 🤔. The 4th one I found when I went to a stationery store to buy Christmas presents for my daughters 🎄🎁 [calendar with the month's age] I want one, but I can't spend 6,000 yen 💦.

Hi Gyve, hi there. Happy birthday to your wife 🎉. There are rumors that Nabeshima is the best special junmai, and I'm sure the sake with delicious rice must have been a wonderful birthday drink ✨. Takakura-san has a great selection of Nabeshima 😊.

Thank you for your comment, HinaHanaMama🙇. We really wanted to take them to the restaurant, but we had to give up because the kids are still small and there's not much on the menu they can eat💦. Instead, we paired it with sake, which we can't do at the restaurant.

[The last dish I had at Emmi was this 🍶. Tsuneyama Junmai Daiginjo Aiso Naokumi Nama We had a sealed bottle ✨. Tranquil and firm sweet rice aroma, a slight gas feeling on the tip of the tongue, a beautiful sweetness and umami, a clean sweet aftertaste, and finally a lingering bitterness on the tip of the tongue. It's been a long time since I've tasted "Tsuneyama", which has a solid dry image, but this "Araiso" has a mellow sweetness that is delicious with a gap between the two. I found this restaurant by chance on Instagram, but it's very cozy and I'm sure I'll be a repeat customer 😁. The system is fixed price all-you-can-drink, so next time I want to visit early in the day 🍺🥃🍶.
