June 22nd was our second daughter's (our second child) birthday 🎂. My wife and children were back home from Saturday night to participate in a local sports festival held at my in-laws' place, so I spent the morning preparing for the evening party while getting some light exercise 🥳. Let's make a toast to the growth of these children and enjoy a glass of sake that is all about [2] 🍶. Sansho 2024 Yamadanishiki Ni-no-shuzake Nama-shu! First time drinking Kumamoto Sake and Sansho at home 🎉! Carefully cut the seal and lifted the lid to hear the sound of a pop 🍾. [Gulping down the sake] The aroma of rice is calm and quiet, and the taste is refreshingly sweet and clean with a lingering aftertaste. [Mokkiri.] A refreshing aroma of rice, a gaseous sensation that is pleasant to the taste buds, followed by a refreshing umami and a gentle sweetness that finishes with a clean, refreshing aftertaste. The refreshing, shwashy sensation is just as refreshing as the rumored "Koei Kiku Snow Crescent" and feels like Champagne 😋. If I could, I'd always have a bottle of this on hand, but I wonder when I'll be able to buy it next😅. I bought this one at Yoshidaya on a recent trip to Nagoya 💸. The entrée was Kibinago sashimi, chilled tofu, and the rest of the Hama Sushi Temaki set.

[After leaving "Soba Restaurant Oyabu", we walked all the way to "Shusenan Mizukami". After sweating off the amount of alcohol we had consumed during the day, we entered the restaurant, which was full of drunken sake that lived up to its reputation 🥰. After 20 minutes of perusing, I took home two bottles ✨. I'm going to have to stock up on more Shinshu sake 😅. From there, we headed back to Kanazawa station to our next destination [Sakeiki Daigo] 🚶. First, we quenched our thirst with a bottle of Akaboshi, and now let's drink 🤣. First, I'll start with the one that caught my attention 🍶. Iraka Gin Kuro Unfiltered Nama Sake Soft apple-like rice aroma, a refreshing sweetness similar to that of apples, a calm sharpness, and a slight bitterness on the nose at the end. Excellent with the asparagus tempura we ordered for our entrée. We drank several alcoholic beverages here, but due to check-in adjustments, we will disclose the other alcoholic beverages on another day 🙇.

I took a one-day trip to Kanazawa because my JR affiliate points are about to expire this month 🚄. In other words, it's time for a sake-terrorism trip 🍶. We went to Soba Restaurant Oyabu, which we had been wanting to visit since we learned of its existence at Sake-no-wa (Sake-no-wa). Wow, they have a great selection of drunken sake, including famous sake 🥰. I know I'm an amateur to start with, but I'm going to start my sake drinking at this place, which I haven't been able to drink very much 💡. Jyushidai Junmai Daiginjo Nakadori Kamimoroshiro, Banshu Yamadanishiki. Even at 1000 yen per glass for half a half gouge (45ml), you can get into the spirit of drinking 🤣. Soft and fruity sweet aroma, sweet and umami like a melon before it ripens, which permeates the mouth smoothly and smoothly, then it quickly becomes sharp and has a pleasant aftertaste. The cool air from the cooled tin cups, which were kept at a controlled temperature of -5°C, is also transmitted to the tin cups, creating a cool atmosphere. Inokashira: Shinshu Secret Sake Hanpukai Gold Course Finally opened May's bottle. June's bottle will be here at the end of the month, so I need to save some space in the cellar 🤣. [Gugumini!] Aroma of mellow rice that reminds me of apples, a really faint feeling of gas on the palate, a light sweetness and umami, and a lingering aftertaste that is calm and crisp. [Mokkiri] Aroma of mellow rice, a smooth and clean sweetness and umami, followed by a firm acidity and a lingering bitter taste on the tongue. The other day I saw Ao-chan eating a "Yokowa" and it looked so delicious that I decided to have it with some "bigeye tuna sashimi" and "horse mackerel tataki" that I had just found, and some "comte cheese" that I bought at a cheese specialty store in Fukui called "Happy Cheese" (🧀). I don't have to tell you that the fish went well with the rich, slightly stinky taste of the comte cheese, and it was a marriage that seemed to melt in your mouth.

Today, June 11, is the full moon of June (Strawberry Moon) 🍓, but unfortunately, it will be difficult to see it due to the stepping stone night shift and thick rainy sky, so let's open a bottle of moonshine the night before and enjoy "tsukimi saké tonight" 🌝🍶. Tsuki Kiyooshi Junmai Sake The only sake brewery in Tsuruga City, where the Hokuriku Shinkansen bullet train opened last year and will have its final station in the near future, stopped brewing sake in 2005 and invested in a local volunteer group to revive the local sake that had been lost. The brewery uses 100% Tsuruga-produced Gohyakumangoku (five hundred million stone), and the name comes from a haiku by Matsuo Basho (a famous Japanese haiku poet). [A gulping sake.] It has a calm and full rice aroma, a clean and fresh flavor that flows smoothly into the mouth, and a clean aftertaste with a hint of sweetness. [MOKKIRIMI] Aroma of calm and full-bodied rice, soft and smooth drinking, fresh flavor and sharp taste, and a slight sweet aftertaste with a lingering bitterness and a refreshing aftertaste. The image of fresh and very clean umami is common to both, and I would like to try it next season as I heard there is a limited time draft sake. The entrée was "Sasazuke (sea bream)", "Komaki Kamaboko (fish cake)" and this season's regular "Chilled Tofu" with "Eating Rayu (Chinese red chili oil)".

I'm impressed that everyone is opening "Shinsei" on June 6 🥰. Well, on this day, my wife had been told for some time that we had plans with friends, so I took my two daughters to an indoor playground, then to the library, and then to Sushiro, which they requested, in that order, and spent the day doing fatherly duties 🤩. We brought a bottle of sake to the company's drinking party. Because there were over 30 people in total at the party, the "Hana-no-Mai Abyss" bottle ran out early, so we opened another one as a spare and had a drink 🍶. Shinanotsuru Tasatsu Junmai Ginjyo 60 Nama Genjozo Unfiltered. The aroma is like melon with beautiful rice aroma, cool and refreshing, melon-like sweetness and umami, and then it finishes with a pleasantly sweet aftertaste. Shinshu sake is delicious after all! This one was purchased at Marunouchi Sake Shokuhin, where we stopped during our recent drive in Nagoya. It was highly praised by my co-workers who said they don't usually have a chance to drink Shinshu sake 🥰. I drank so much! I drank so much that I lost my memory one station before getting off the train on the way back and missed the next stop 🤣. I realized that I missed one stop 🤣 Since the train is in the countryside, the feeling of one stop is far away😅. I walked 5 km to sober up, but on the way back, I saw fireflies in the rice field ✨. The 4th picture is the curry of beef tendon topped with fried bean curd 🍛 that I had for lunch the next day at Farmer's Restaurant Mamma. I always feel like eating curry the day after drinking, don't you? I'm sure I'll be satisfied even without the fried tofu topping 🍴.

[I left Shima & Coffe & Sake and went to the venue for today's drink 🚶. When I entered the restaurant a little before the start time, the party had already started and I thought I was late😅. We found out that there was no sake at all last time, so we checked with the secretary and brought in 2 bottles of Yongo (four-pack) 🤣. First of all, since it was the opening of the party, we opened the first bottle of the shuwashu one and had a saké 🍶. Hana no Mai Abyss It has a slight sweetness with a hint of rice malt, a sparkling gas feeling at the mouth, and a dry taste with a clean umami flavor, which finishes with a refreshing aftertaste, almost like a rather dry champagne. Later I found out that it is brewed with Burgundy yeast, so the Champagne-like taste may be due to this 🤔. This is a bottle I bought in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, where I went for GW! I poured it around to my other colleagues and it was gone in no time 🥰.

After opening a bottle of "Hana-no-Ko", we next ordered a glass of "Hana-no-Ko", which we had decided to order the moment we saw the cellar. Sono Kangiku Pray for 2024 Junmai Daiginjo/Aiyama 40 Nakadori Unfiltered Unrefined Nama Sake. The aroma is mellow and sweet like sugar candy, the mouthfeel is full and soft, and the sweetness is typical of Kangiku, then it finishes with a gentle aftertaste. I am thankful to have found it here as I had lost the chance to drink it 🥰.

Hana no Kaori Junmai Ginjo Kikka Sweet aroma like a white peach before it ripens, the mouthfeel is against the aroma, the flavor is mellow and delicious, the taste is gentle and sweet, and it finishes with a gorgeous fruity aftertaste, and the last thing that remains is the bitterness on the tongue and throat. For the entrée, we sampled a dish from Takashi's "Watercress soaked in watercress with fruit tomatoes and fresh ginger" that will be served tomorrow 🍴. The sweetness of the fruit tomatoes, the flavor of the fresh ginger, and finally the freshness of the watercress, which is refreshing without bitterness, seems to be a project for tomorrow's "June 6th.

After quenching my thirst with Akahoshi, I found a bottle at Mizumoto in Fukui Station on my way to Shima that I couldn't miss, so I stopped by 🤣. Kuroryu Hiiraju. The aroma is sweet and mellow like melon even from a distance due to the large mouth of the glass, and the bitter taste behind the clear umami and sweetness on the palate quickly fades to a sweet aroma on the nose and a firm bitter finish. I have not had this sake in 20 years 🤔. The 4th picture is a little yakiniku (grilled meat) at Matsumoto Shoten.

This week, after picking up the kids from school, I took the expressway to Nagoya 🚙. I went to a ramen shop I wanted to eat at, and then went to a liquor store, in this order: ramen shop, Yoshidaya, Marunouchi Sake Shokuhin, and Sake Sento Horiichi ✨. Basically, I try to open the bottles in the order I buy them, but sometimes I thought it might be intoxicating to open them right after they go on sale, so I bought this one from Sake Sento Horikazu 🍶. Oku Trial Bewing No1 Nagisa no Yoneyaka [Glass.] The aroma of mellow rice with the strength that is typical of "Oku", a clear and smooth sweet umami from the firm gas sensation on the tip of the tongue, a crisp and refreshing aftertaste, and a slight bitterness at the end that is typical of "Oku". [Mokkiri.] Refreshing rice aroma reminiscent of citrus fruits, a refreshing sweet umami taste with a firm gassy sensation on the palate, followed by a refreshing finish with a clean aftertaste reminiscent of lemon, and a rather firm bitterness at the end. As the temperature rises, the sweetness plumps up and expands, leaving a refreshing, clean and pleasant aftertaste. The entrée was the same as the dish served in the Enshu Sea: Shizuoka bonito tataki and Fukui flying fish sashimi, both from the Enshu Sea. The combination of the two brought to mind images of the summer sea, and I was pleasantly intoxicated. ⛵️

Sentoku: "Kangazukuri freshly pressed uncured sake". I bought it at Nikomaru Sake Brewery where bouken-san took me the other day. First time drinking Miyazaki sake at home✨! [Glass.] The aroma of mellow rice flavor and alky aroma, the mouthfeel is 19° alcohol by volume, but it has a smooth flavor and alky sweetness, then it finishes with a refreshing and fresh aftertaste, and a bitter taste lingers in the throat in the freshness. [Mokkiri.] Fresh rice and a sweet aroma from the alky alcohol, the mouthfeel is smooth and refreshing, and the sweetness from the alky alcohol gives it a pleasant kick, with a sweet aftertaste at the end. I tried heating it up, but the sweetness and umami did not expand as much as I expected, and I felt the alcohol content was relatively strong. It would have been more interesting to try it on the rocks 🤔. To go with the Miyazaki sake, I took out "Charcoal Roasted Hinadori Chicken and Oyadori Chicken" from "Marudori Honpo Tasaya", which has a smoky aroma and goes well with the fat of the chicken 😋.

[The 6th drink 🍶 that I drank at Poziya. The last drink we had was this one ✨. Hakkaiyama Junmai Daiginjo Hyokushitsu Storage for 3 years. Aroma of mellow and sweet rice, soft sweetness on the palate with a gentle aftertaste and a sharp acidity that leads to a gentle spreading sweet aftertaste. Perfect for shime (Japanese rice wine). The salt content was taken away by the decomposition of alcohol, so the salt ramen with its gentle flavor and richness was just the right amount of intoxicating! [Whenever I come to Poziya, I almost always have about 6 drinks, so the number of reviews for this spot has skyrocketed 🤣.

[The 5th drink at Poziya 🍶. Next up is a first for me ✨! ICHIHAKU JUNMAME UZUNIGORI NAMAZAKE (light nigori sake) The aroma of rice with moist and heavy umami, juicy flavor and dry acidity, and the bitter taste lingering in the throat at the end. The taste and aroma go well with the spicy gizzard as a side dish. (I later found out that it was brewed using the facilities of Hata Shuzo of Daijiro, which the brewer of Nakazawa Shuzo studied when he resumed sake brewing, and that it was brewed with the facilities of Hata Shuzo when he resumed in-house production. When I checked the label carefully, it is true that the "Haku" in "Ichi Haku" does not have a dot. I gained another piece of knowledge about sake 🤣.

[This is the fourth drink 🍶 that I've had at Poziya. This one was served after the first 5 drinks were poured ✨. Takejaku Yamahai Nama-hai Nama-no-Filtered Nama-shu. The aroma of rice is a little heavy like Yamahai, the mouthfeel is heavy but the taste is clean and crisp, with a sweet aftertaste and a lingering bitterness on the palate. If the flavor is this robust, I think it would be good with spicy gizzard 🤔.
