Winter Nigorinpic 37 At this Nigorinpik, we started with the sake we hadn't had yet 😀 We drank Banshu Ichiken on the lees last year. Last year, I drank this Banshu Ikkyo Lees Tangled and was so impressed with the adult melon soda and Orin that I got it again this year but couldn't open the bottle 😅. We couldn't hold back any longer and opened the bottle a little out of order 🤣. This year's adult melon soda was just as delicious as last year's. 😇

Izakaya Kintetsu Express Hinotori Opening Two days of sake drinking in Mie are safely over and we are on our way home 😀. The sake we will have on the Kintetsu train on the way home is Junmai Ginjo by Fukuwagura 😀. This sake is made by Imuraya, which is famous for azuki products such as azuki bars and other Japanese sweets and ice cream bars. It is a sweet sake, as you would expect from Imuraya, but it was a delicious sake that did not interfere at all when paired with an assortment of Mie's specialty bento boxes 😀. I'm glad I was able to end my Mie Prefecture sake trip with this sake 😇. By the way, the return trip was my first ride on the Kintetsu Limited Express Hinotori 😀. I had always wanted to take this train at least once, so I was excited and decided to take the premium seats 😀. The three rows of seats were comfortable with wide space between the seats and a comfortable recline, but... everyone on the train was so quiet that if I made a single noise I would get stared at 🤣. I promised myself I would never sit in premium seats again😅.

Walking Brewery Tour Trip 25 The last stop on our Mie Sake Brewery Tour was Ogawa Honke. This is another small sake brewery where the brewer, who is also the toji (master brewer), is alone in his office 😀. Originally, their brand name was Yachiyo-san, but they started making a dry sake called Den because they themselves like dry sake 😀 The character "Den" is also written in the Japanese character "jinbun", which means "from the human side". The character for "Den" is also very particular about the character for "de" and "n", which is a good character for a human being 🤣. I bought this one and a nigori called Winter White, and I like the fact that they go to the trouble of bottling and serving it at the brewery 😇. I haven't had the Winter White nigori yet, but I'm looking forward to drinking it at home because it's so dry you wouldn't think it was a nigori 🤣. I'm looking forward to drinking it at home because it's so dry that you wouldn't think it was nigori 🤣.

A local father was kind enough to talk to us on the way and told us that there used to be four breweries in the area, but now there are only two 😇. This brewery had no sales office and they sold sake at the office, but we couldn't find the entrance at all and had to walk left and right 😅. Brewery tour on foot 22 Last night we enjoyed a Mie sake drinking contest at a hotel in Tsu, but first thing this morning we will visit Atsuta Shrine in Nagoya and then tour the sake breweries in Mie😇. The first brewery is Ito Sake Brewery, which brews Madenjo 😀. The paid tasting of 4 sakes was a great deal, but they offered us an additional 3 sake tasting after we had talked with them 😇. Kaorin seemed to like the sake here very much and said it was her favorite out of all the Mie sake she has had since yesterday 😀. We got a little excited and bought a bottle of fresh sparkling sake called Denjo, which is only available at the brewery 🤣.

I don't think I would have been able to finish all 11 types if I had been alone😇. Hanzo was well-balanced and refreshing and tasted like a summer sake, Tenyuma had an interesting change of taste from sweetness in the mouth to a throat hit at the finish, and Tamitsu was clear but strong at the finish, each had a strong personality and was very interesting 😇

It looks like the label was written by the author of Natsuko's Sake, which I read in a manga when I was still not interested in sake at all 😀. As soon as I put it in my mouth, I felt a strong attack, but while drinking it, I didn't feel the spiciness as much as I expected, partly because of the sharpness of the sake 😀. Mie sake drinking comparison: 3️⃣ Yesterday, after the sake drinking comparison, I went back to my room and posted two posts, then I got sleepy and went straight to bed 🤣. It's moderately convenient to have the hotel and the drinking venue in the same place😇. This morning I woke up in high spirits and am on the Kintetsu Express train from Tsu to Nagoya 😀. We are going to pay a visit to Atsuta Shrine and then go on a sake brewery tour in Mie 🤣. I really wanted to stop by some sake shops in Nagoya, but I can't add any more with the current state of my sake cellar 🥲. The third one we ordered at yesterday's sake comparison party was this one, Urasashi 😀. It was a delicious sake, sweet and fruity, but with just the right amount of acidity 😀. 21st brewery visit 😀 Unfortunately Hirai Shoten in Shiga Prefecture was closed the other day, so this is the 21st brewery 😀. We arrived at the brewery by walking from Kintetsu Shin Tanabe station in Kyoto via Aotani Plum Grove: 🚶‍♀️ The tasting was only available in Daiginjo and Jun-dai, which were sold by weight, but I was allowed to taste them, and I will slowly taste this Sandeshi recommended by the store owner back home 😀. The other day I mentioned that it was our 10th wedding anniversary and Aladdin told me it was a tin wedding, so I bought a pair of Nosaku's sake cups to commemorate the occasion 😇. Today we compared the glass and tin and I have to say that Nosaku's sake cups are amazing...they taste very mellow😇. The recommended Akaban Omachi was very clear, easy to drink and delicious sake, but the taste was much clearer with the Nosaku 🎶. Thank you Aladdin for sharing your good news 🙏. Starting tomorrow, we will travel to Mie for a Sunday-Monday trip to Ise and a tour of sake breweries 😀. On Sunday, I was planning to stay in Ise after the visit, but I heard from a friend of mine that there was a sake drinking event at a hotel in Tsu, so I changed the hotel 😇. Winter Nigorinpic 36 I took a little detour to clear sake, but I'm back to Nigorinpik again starting today😇. I recently discovered Miyanomatsu and I'm a little bit addicted to it 😀. The Shuwakimaseri I had a while ago was delicious, but this is Miyanomatsu's new sake made in January this year 😀. The sake level is minus than Shuwakimaseri, so it looks quite sweet, but the sourness that seems to come from the Shuwakimaseri and the firm taste of the new sake are good nuances and only moderately sweet and tasty😇. I guess Miyanomatsu will be my boom for the time being 😀.

Tobiroki is also very hard to find, but it's a clear and beautiful sake like Junmai Daiginjo 😀. It is the most similar to Niimasa among the sake we compared, but I think it tastes more transparent 😇. I guess it's a matter of taste here and opinions will differ... 🤣 What surprised me more than that was the Imi 🤣. At first it was a clear golden yellow, but over time it turned a bit dull 😅. Walking tour of temples, shrines and sake breweries21❓😅😅 As I wrote yesterday, tomorrow is the anniversary of my mother's death, so every year on the National Foundation Day holiday, I go on a walking tour to visit temples in the 33 sacred sites in the western part of Japan 😀. I don't have enough merit to go to the temples 🤣. This year I went to Otsu, Shiga and asked for offerings at two temples, Ishiyama Temple and Mitsui Temple 😀. Since I was in Otsu, I decided to visit the sake brewery, Hirai Sake Brewery, where Asakayousei is brewed 😀. I thought they were open because the information said they were closed irregularly, but unfortunately they were closed today 🥲. I decided to open a bottle of Shinmasa today on the Shin-Kaisoku train on my way home to open a bottle of delicious sake when I was disappointed 😇. When I got home and read Sake-no-wa, I found that Aladdin-san drank the exact same sake😇. I'll leave all the comments to Aladdin, but they are all delicious even though they are completely different from both the Izumi and Jikin sakes we compared 😇. The deep, sweet and umami flavor of the Imi is outstanding, the sweet, umami, bitter and spicy of the Jikin is well balanced, and the fresh, delicious rice flavor of the Shinsei Viridian can be enjoyed...they are all delicious😇! It was a nice and tasty home drinking comparison😇

Today is 2 days before the anniversary of my mother's death😅 That means it's my and Kaorin's 10th wedding anniversary ㊗️ Exactly 10 years ago, my mother was in critical condition, so I rushed to register my marriage with Kaorin and reported it to my mother and could see her relieved face 😀. The store owner was surprised that I won again 🤣. Thankfully, I have 5 bottles of Jikin in my house, but today I got the oldest one, Senbon-Nishiki Hi-iri, which was made in August last year😇. I was so surprised to find out that I have 5 bottles of Jikin in storage at the moment, but today I had the oldest bottle, which was made in August last year and is called Senbon Nishiki Hiiri.

Hakusetsu kurabiraki 2️⃣ As expected of a brewery with hundreds of years of history 🤣. We had 5 different kinds of sake to compare in the paid tasting, but the one that surprised me was the dark yellow sake in the middle of the 5 kinds😇. It was made by recreating a recipe from the Edo Genroku period 😀. The sake was just as impressive as its color, with a robust sweet flavor reminiscent of super-ripe old sake and a dark aroma reminiscent of nuts 😇. I decided to take home the nigori sake, which is limited to the brewery 😀. Yesterday, too, we always choose nigori sake as a souvenir to take home 🤣.
