Winter Nigori Linpic 2️⃣ In this Nigorinpic, I tried to collect as many different types of nigori sake as possible, such as nigori, nigori, ogorigori, sparkling ogorigami, etc., and also prepared a wide variety of tastes, such as sweet, umami-guchi, and refreshing based on your comments 😀 I thought about the order in which to drink the sake among them. I thought about the order in which to drink the selected sakes, but this time I decided to drink the ones I haven't tasted yet first, after the last Winter Nigorinpic to a certain extent 😀. For the second entry in the Winter Nigorinpik, I chose Yukiten by Choshu Shuzo, a brewery in my hometown of Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture😇. I've had a few sips of Amami's light nigori Momoten, but this is my first time drinking this nigori Yukiten 😀 I like Momoten, but this time I had a chance to try this one. I like Momoten, but the Yukiten I had this time was even better than Momoten😇. The aroma was citrus fruit, but my impression was pear 🍐. The second day, Mr. Sanomorosugi is still a delicious ripe banana, but this one is a delicious pear 😀. It's a matter of taste, but in my family we might prefer the pear... of course the ripe banana is outstandingly delicious😇 The top clearings were removed and tasted the same....but the orizzled ones tasted more fizzy 😇

24-25 Winter Nigorinpic 1️⃣ Finally, our Winter Nigorinpik starts today 😇! 45 people 🤣 participated in this event. Atcha..................................................before I knew it, we had a huge number of participants😅 I think I'm doing something stupid 🤣. With such a great lineup, I don't need to buy nigori sake until the next Spring Nigorinpik 😅. I mean, Kaorin would be seriously pissed if I brought any more with me 😖. The one I chose as the top batter is this ORIGARUMI, a brewery limited edition from Mr. Mitsumorosugi 😀. Imanishi Sake Brewery is located on the approach to Omiwa Shrine in Miwa, Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture, which is one of the three major sake shrines in Japan 😀. Nationally, the brewery is famous for its brand name, Mimuro Sugi, but the local brand name is Mitsumorosugi😇. I visited that brewery and got this sake on December 7 😀. At that moment, I decided that this would be the top batter for the Winter Nigorinpik 😇. However, the mom at the store told me to wait 2 weeks to open the bottle because it was just bottled this morning 😅. But it was worth the two week wait 😇 Tastes and smells like fresh ripe bananas 😀. Fresh❓Ripe❓I know that's a weird thing to say, but it's just delicious💕.

For some reason, we decided to start the Nigorinpic in our house on December 20, and we have a cellar and refrigerator overflowing with our favorite Nigori sake, but right now we are watching the Nigorinpic with our fingers crossed 😀 . So, the last sake I chose before the Nigorinpic is Jikin's special junmai hi-ire. I had a hard time deciding between Jungin and Tokujun, but I was in the mood for Tokujun today 🤣. After all, no matter how many times I drink it, Jikin is always delicious 😀. It gives me the illusion that it's still a pure sake despite the fact that it's hi-ire 😅. Now I can move on to Nigorinpik without any worries 🤣.

At a recent Izakaya Monorail event, there were 8 people sitting at one table with 6 bottles of 4-gou 😀. As we were about to arrive at the last stop, the attendant suddenly added another bottle 🤣. I was told that I was already drunk and couldn't drink any more, but after tasting a few more, the staff asked if anyone would like to take some home... Everyone had come from quite a distance, but since my family lives at the next station, I was grateful to receive a bottle of this Fujimusume 😇. The sake level is +5 degrees, which is rather spicy for our family who likes sweet sake😅. We also compared the sweet and tasty Murasakiu and Akakido, so it seemed dry in its own way, but it was a delicious sake with a stronger umami flavor than that 😇. I used to think that Kochi sake was harsh except for CEL24, but this Kochi sake event changed my impression of Kochi sake.

When I visited Tomikunishiki on a brewery tour at the beginning of October, Kaorin and I received this sake as a toast to the brewery's lunch 😀 I was so surprised by the crisp, dry, and beautiful taste of this sake that I bought it as a toast for my birthday. I was so surprised by its crisp, dry and beautiful taste that I bought it for my birthday toast, but I missed the chance to drink it because Kaorin gave me a surprisingly special sake as a present 😅. I'm going to miss the chance to drink it even more since the Gorinpic will be held soon, so I opened the bottle today😇. I knew it, this clear taste is more than champagne 😀. I also remembered the delicious lunch we had at the brewery and enjoyed it 😇. Next spring, Kaorin and I will go for the lunch and toast with this celebratory bubbles 😇.

Our family traditionally brings red and white sake to Kaorin's parents' house every New Year's Day for the Osechi meal😇. For the red sake we are bringing to the upcoming New Year's meal, we chose our favorite Aka Kido by Kido and have been storing it in the cellar since before autumn, but this year we prepared a nigori type red sake because the beginning of the year coincides with the Nigorinpikku 😀. We will open the bottle before the Nigorinpic because we are sorry to let the Aka Kido we had stored there stay over the New Year 😇. I really love Kido sake, but I think I like this one the best with the red rice derived flavor of Akaki-Kido 😀. The rich sweet taste of Akaki-Kido-San is really delicious and I love it 😇

Izakaya Monorail 3️⃣ We had a great time with the Kochi Yosakoi dance performance on the train. There were many Kochi sake that I had never tried before, such as Niyodogawa, Shimanto, Kure, and Tosa Space Deep Sea Sake, all of which had a strong taste but were more clean and refreshing than dry.

Izakaya Monorail 2️⃣ This is a raw sake from Aki Tora that Kaorin liked the best😇. Sake in Kochi is either dry with a lot of guts or sweet and umami with a CEL24, but this one was a very sweet and umami sake. This was a delicious sake with a strong sweet-umami taste 😇.

Today, Kaorin and I went to the Osaka Monorail Sake Event Train 😀. Monorail Izakaya 1️⃣ Osaka Monorail runs from Kadoma City in Osaka to Osaka Airport, and there is an event train that runs once a month from Kadoma City to Osaka Airport to Banpaku Koen Station, which is located in the middle of the train, where you can enjoy Japanese sake and a local bento box lunch in the monorail car between Banpaku Koen Station and Osaka Airport 😀. This time, the train was a marriage of Kochi Prefecture sake and a plate lunch box 😇. Six bottles of Kochi sake from six of the 19 breweries were set up in seats that seat eight people😇. We randomly selected one of them and poured it, but actually my favorite of the sake we drank this time was this Itookashi Nama 😀. It was sweet and tasty, yet robust, and made me realize once again how good Kochi sake is 😀.

Purple Space Series 2️⃣ After yesterday's Murasaki Uchu Sugitama label, today we got the Snow label 😀. The rice polishing ratio is the same at 55% and the yeast is also the same according to Giovanni 😀 Sake level is minus 2 and minus 2.5 and acidity is 1.5 and 1.7🤣. The specs are almost the same, but I could feel the sweet and sour fruitiness of this Snow Label 😀. Maybe you wouldn't feel this difference if you drank them separately, but even my stupid tongue could feel it when I drank them side by side😇. It would be interesting if this is the difference between Gohyakumangoku and Miyamanishiki!

We had our first new sake of the year 😀. This is the start of our 24-25 season😇 We decided to start off with a new sake cedar ball label by Shihu 😀. My goal for this season is, 1️⃣We would like to chase the season's limited edition sake to savor the season by Shihuusan and Wakamusume 😇 2️⃣I'm a taste-o-phile, I'd like to decide on various purposes and taste different kinds of sake 😀 3️⃣Nigorist and nigori sake lover in my family, I would like to drink 30% of the sake we drink this season with nigori type (nigori, light nigori, orikarami, etc.) 😀 Purple Space Series 1️⃣ I'll start with this one, Sugitama Label Hatsushibori 😀. My impression is that it is a little bit different from the other Murasakyuusan I've had so far... 🤣. Of course it tastes just as good as the previous Murasakichi, but it seems to be more pungent than before...maybe it is a characteristic of the rice used for sake, I wonder ❓ I will be drinking the Snow Label Miyamanishiki tomorrow to compare the two, so it would be nice to know the difference😇

When I saw that my sake friend Maru-san gave me a bottle of Suitama, I had no choice but to drink the same sake as him as we are also members of the same hanpukai. Actually, my Kaorin is a big fan of Hanamup, so much so that she chooses it as her commemorative sake every time she hits the "Kiri" milestone. As soon as the bottle is opened, it has the same aroma as Hanamup's 😇. I'll leave it to Maru-san to comment on the taste 😀. Following yesterday's walk in Nara, today I walked to Hattori Ryokuchi Park in my neighborhood, walked around the park, had a meal, and came back home. 🚶‍♂️ Although it was in the neighborhood, the total distance was 14 kilometers, so it was a fair distance to walk 😀. Today's walking companion was Harada's special Jun, which I bought when I went back to my hometown Shimonoseki in September 😀. It was made from Yamaguchi Prefecture's sake rice, Saito no Shizuku 😀. It was a good sake with a robust taste but also a strong umami flavor 😀. It went well with my bento box lunch of takikomi gohan with chicken, and was a delicious sake that soaked into my body after a long day of walking 😀.

Walking tour of temples, shrines and sake breweries 11 Today is a walking tour of Nara 😀. We started from JR Sakurai station in Nara and walked 17 km from Abe Monjuin Temple to Oyamato Shrine in Tenri via Oomiwa Shrine and Yamanobe no Michi. 🚶‍♂️ On the way, in front of the gate of Oomigami Shrine is the Imanishi Sake Brewery of Mimuro Cedar 😀. The store at the brewery only carries the local brand of samorosugi, no mimurosugi at all 🤣. Lucky for us, we got a bottle of the newest limited edition Ooragarami sake that was just released today 😇. They didn't offer any tasting at all, so we moved to the branch in front of Miwa station where they offer tasting for a fee 😀. We had a new sake doburoku, a new sake junmai hatsushibori and a junmai daiginjo dewy leaf style. I think you can only experience that kind of dobrokku, sweetness, richness and petitiveness at the brewery 😇. I was also able to get a souvenir for myself, a new brewery limited edition ogara-mi, so it was a very satisfying walking trip😇.

Continuing from yesterday, today's sake is Mikotsuru's Suwa Miyamanishiki. The specs are almost the same, the only difference is the sake rice 😀. The taste... the same Mikotsuru nuance at the end finish, but the starting point was completely different 😀. Yesterday's Kinmon-nishiki started out with a robust flavor and Mikotsuru came out at the end, but this Suwa Miyamanishiki had Mikotsuru's nuance from the beginning to the end 😀. Kaorin said she prefers Suwa Miyamanishiki because she likes sweet flavor, but I think I prefer Kinmon Nishiki because I can enjoy the change in flavor😇. I think this area is the result of difference in taste 😀.

Yesterday, I went walking in Hoshinoenchi in Katano City, Osaka, where there was a specialty market of Katano City, so I took a peek 😀. There I met the beer in the 4th picture 😀. Hirakata City has a school called "Orime University", which is like an open school and closely connected to the local community, and they have a department for making sake and beer 😇. This is a beer made in the beer department, and it contains sakekasu, which is made in the sake brewing department 😀 It seems that the bitterness of the beer has a Japanese sake flavor. It was a delicious beer with a very strange taste, with the bitterness of beer mixed with the sweetness and umami of sake 😀.
