The origin of Nanamizu is said to be that the first generation head of the family, an Omi merchant, started brewing sake in the city of Utsunomiya using "Niji-no-i", the seven famous waters of Utsunomiya at that time 🤔. As the label says, it's apple-like but... what mushrooms? and a malted rice-like aroma. The more you drink it, the more it seems like cacao! The more you drink, the more you feel the richness like cocoa, but also grape? It was juicy, sweet and sour like a grape 😋.

The Dolce and Jun Dai I was interested in were not in the store, and I was also interested in Junmai 80, but after much deliberation, I picked up the Tokujun 🤗. The first sip...oh? A little light? The first sip...oh my...is it a bit light? It has a gentle flavor, with a mild sweetness, acidity, and umami. The finish is clean and slightly dry, and I felt it was a type of sake that goes well with food. Rice: 100% Yamadanishiki Rice polishing ratio: 60 Alcohol content: 15%. Mr. Mita, whom I brought along 🤩 because he looked so cool standing up at the last shopping trip: ‼️ I thought it would be better to see how Tamitsu-san changed after a day, so I opened this one on the way and compared the drinks 🤗. And the main dining item on Saturday was a butcher shop we found the other day that serves delicious horse sashimi 😍They also do fried food, so we ordered some and were all set for the Japan basketball game 👍. As you can see in the third picture, we had a nice dinner table 🤗. Let's eat! Yum! This one is a very calm and sweet taste that can be said to be from Mr. Mita. ☺️ but it has a clean aftertaste that makes you keep on drinking! And after all, this Horse Sashimi with spicy miso is so delicious! ‼️2Day 1: The combination of Tamitsu & Mita's Tada 😄, a bite of Horse Sashimi is a whoop 😍, and a gulp of Sake is a whoop 🤩Ah? I think I heard that somewhere 🙄. And when I looked at the label on the back, it said "Please enjoy it slowly over time, cold or lukewarm 😮😫😫😫. I drank it all up before it reached that temperature 😫😓. So, as a result, I drank it all before the game started and watched the TV game while drinking tea 😅. Congratulations 🏀 on making it to the Olympics 🎉! Now I'm going to go cheer for Tochigi BREX 🥰❗️'s Tochigi love 🥰.

I was curious to see what you guys were drinking and here is one of the bottles I bought the other day from ❗️ 😊. We finished drinking Gobashi last weekend and still need more 😅, so here it is! This is the second bottle of Takachiyosan we have had in about a year and a half 🤗. Let's have some 😄! One sip and you'll be surprised how much grape it tastes like! But it has just the right amount of sweetness and is well-balanced with a touch of bitterness without being dull! This is delicious 😋. To be honest, Mr. Takachiyo didn't like the first one so I was hesitant to try it for a while 😅This was a delicious one 🥹. Then he exercised his adult restraint 😆 and succeeded in keeping half of it 😁. I was worried that it would be too sweet if I let it sit for 3 days since I decided to take Monday to Wednesday off my liver 😰 but yesterday I opened it for the first time in a long time and it was a nice splash! I opened it yesterday after a long time and it opened with a nice sound👍. And at the first sip! Wow! Grapes! No ❗️ grape🍇 Really ‼️ grape🍇 The grape🍇 trifecta of grapes🍇 was ❗️❗️❗️ meh🍇 darker 😆 This is a very impressive first bite 🤗. And we opened our next drink 🫠.

I remembered that Ran-chan once told me that Yodogawa is the only place around here that sells this series of Gobashi 🤗🤔I decided to choose one of the five colors: ❗️ I saw the description of the alcohol on each of the five series 🤩 and nodded my head 🤔I picked up the one by Yellow: ‼️ I gave it to Nobby and said, "I'll take this one! and also got Mita-san 👍I'm a little short on Tochigi sake these days 😅. After that, Nobby was watching the commentary and seemed to be convinced "I know why you chose Yellow". That's right🤗Yellow is a sweet and sour sake, exactly Jay's taste! Now, let's have the first Five's! The light acidity and clear sweetness of the white malt with a good citric acidity were well balanced, and as usual, it was so good that we drank it with ease 🏊! Last weekend, we had a day off from visiting my parents' house, so we spent the morning watching the Angels on TV. We high-fived with joy after Otani's grand slam HR on Saturday morning❣️ We thought it would be a good start to the weekend, but they lost in the last inning even though they had a triple play 😢. I drank a lot at the party in the evening 😅. The first half of this week is a rest day 😑.

We brought this Nabeshima to you because it looks so cool 😍‼️ I was sure it would be a good bottle even if I saw the reviews on Sake-no-Wa 👍I had no problem opening the bottle! Let's have some 😊. The first sip is a bit sweet and sour (‼️), but as the cup progresses, the first hint of sweetness and sourness is felt. But as the sip goes on, the sweet and sourness you felt at first fades away and the robust umami comes to the surface 😋. I also heard that it's better to let it sit for a day or so, so I switched it off halfway through the first day🤗. The next day, the first cup is again acidic, but the overall flavor is more rounded and more umami 😋. This is delicious😍. By the way, the day before Obon vacation🤗 We decided to visit a liquor store on the first day of the holiday to see if it was safe to continue. ‼️ The night before, we were determined to leave the house by 9 a.m., but the next morning Nobby woke up at 8:30 a.m.💦 saying, "I fell asleep 😫. So guess what time we left the house: ⁉️ She was in the car by 9:00am as planned 😳. I can't believe how fast she woke up and left the house 🤣. I prepared two cooler boxes for Mr. Sake and off we went 🚗. The story of the liquor store tour continues

This goes back to the night of my sobriety ban. One bottle was not enough after all, so we decided to go for a second bottle 😆 What are you drinking? The kids came to take a peek and were surprised to see the fridge almost completely occupied with alcohol 🫢‼️ We can't fit any food in there. No, no, it's all right as long as there's alcohol in the fridge 😁 and I made sure to educate the adults too 🤣. So the second bottle was my first time drinking Dairuri 🤗 before Natur X came out it was the first sake to return 😅. Dairuri is a beautiful blue bird and is the prefectural bird of Tochigi 🙂 👩‍🎓 It's a blue bird that brings happiness 🥰. And this sake is a regional brand only available at 6 stores in Tochigi prefecture! Let's try it! Wow, the gorgeous aroma spreads and the umami of the rice can be felt. The balance is good, with a clean cut at the end! It's a solid food sake 👍. I'm really happy to be able to drink sake well 🥹! Love Tochigi with sake named after the prefectural bird 🥰. I'll start uploading the Aizu trip after this (probably tomorrow) 👋

WBC final against the USA 🇺🇸! Jay was working and couldn't watch it live 🥲. But Sake-no-wa and Nobby kept calling me on LINE to check on the progress of the game 😁I was so busy checking on them that I almost didn't get to work 🤣. But I appreciated the calls👍 The winner that night was chosen to celebrate 🎉 with Nozomu's Nigori, who I finally got to meet 🤗. A bottle brewed with "Hitogochi" from Tochigi prefecture and prefectural yeast 😊. It has a citrusy aroma 😌and as the label says, it has an elegant and classy taste with a harmony of umami, sweetness and acidity ☺️ Classy is perfect for us 😅. This is delicious 😋and another one we can enjoy with a sip! It's nice to be able to watch the video of the final in peace, but I really wanted to see these tense matches live 🤔. Let's hope in 3 years ❗️ The memorial is still Tochigi Ai 🥰.

We had it while cheering for Samurai Japan 📣 with Nozomu 🤗 (The second picture is the three Sotoike sake brewing brothers who were waiting in our fridge). This is a Daiginjo made from Yume-Sasara from Tochigi prefecture, polished to 45%, and was selected for the President's Award🥇 out of 1110 entries in last year's Kura Master, a French sake competition! This sake also has a fresh fruity aroma with a hint of apple. The fluffy umami of Yumesasara spreads out, followed by a subtle acidity that refreshes the aftertaste. ☺️ I thought it was a little more robust than the Comet Nozomu we drank together, but either way, both are delicious 😋. The chairman of the Kura Master judging panel said, "On the palate, it has a gorgeous and refreshing flavor as well as a quenching thirst. It has floral and exotic aromas. The acidity is moderate and the sweetness is soft. Hmmm.... sums it up to be delicious 😆. Wishing Samurai Japan 🏆 a victory 🏆 Tochigi Ai 🥰.

Yesterday's WBC match against Italy🇮🇹❗️ was a perfect preparation for the game, and we had a dinner before the game started. We sang "Kimigayo" and started cheering for the team 🤗Because Mr. Otani is a two-sport starter, we compared two sakes from the Sotoike brewery, Nozomu and Sanbana. We also had a Riedel and a sake glass drinking comparison at the same time 😆 We started with Nozomu, which is a 60% pure Hokkaido comet. The first one was Riedel, and I could smell the aroma of this one better. It is slightly fruity and melon-like 😌, with a hint of carbonation and a beautiful sweet acidity. But the sweetness is only a little, and then the bitterness comes in and the sharpness is very good👍. Now on to the gulping one...oh⁉️ it tastes different...but I can't really put into words what the difference is🤔I guess it's like the umpire calls it a ball and you say no, that's a strike! I guess it's the difference between the two 😅. The result is that they are both delicious 😋. Samurai Japan is getting better as a team! Good luck in the USA ‼️ The game starts at 8am so I'll be cheering for the veterans with a cup of tea 🤗. And this is finally my 50th bottle of Tochigi sake 🍶㊗️ Aiming for 100 Tochigi Ai🥰!

Last week, on a holiday, I went for my once-every-three-months haircut. I need to make sure I look good before my weekend Tochigi Prefectural Meeting 😉 The guy I usually ask for wasn't available at a good time, so I ended up getting it done at 7pm 😩Cutting is really a hassle 😤. After that, I remembered that our fridge was getting lonely and I stopped by the liquor store on the way home 😊 and got a few bottles of Tochigi sake for starters! ❗️ and since I'm a local, I brought this one in a bottle from the Hatsutankai series that is still left, because it's definitely delicious 🤗. So I'll get to it later, but I'll open it on the Emperor's birthday! Yes, it's delicious ‼️ I'm sure of it 😊I'm relieved to have a bottle of this kind 😋Gubi gubi 😋. After that, we both drank a little after No. 4, and it was almost gone when we finished it after drinking Gokotsuru the day before yesterday! Isn't it kind of early 😆. The second extra photo was taken yesterday evening as Venus and Jupiter approached each other 🤳 It's beautiful when the #1 and #2 brightest planets in the sky 🌟 are this close 🥹. This is another sake I drank last week 🍶. This is my first Wakakoma, despite being local: ‼️ This year I'm going to try to bring as much Tochigi sake as possible that I haven't had yet👍. I'll have some now 🙏. It's a bit cloudy when you pour it into a glass. And the aroma is fresh, yes! Banana🍌 is here... ☺️ As some people have mentioned in Sake-no-wa, and as the label says, this is banana🍌! The color of the label is yellow, so it must be 🍌😄. The first sip is again banana🍌-like sweetness😋 followed by a bitter sourness: ☺️ The rice polishing ratio is 80%, so is this a heavy sake? I thought it would be a heavy sake, but it has a sharp but juicy taste 🍌 but I think it's quite refreshing. It was delicious! Love 🍌 Tochigi 🥰.

Yesterday was Nobby's birthday 🎂 Since it was a weekday, we kept it light. As I knew that Tochigi sake is the best drink to celebrate such a milestone, I made a toast with this that I had left in the fridge 🥂. It's a sparkling wine with a cute label from "Sanbana", a local brand of Sonoike Sake Brewery, which brews Nozomu brand. The white malted rice produces a lot of citric acid, so you can taste the refreshing sourness like lemon and the sweetness of rice. A sparkling wine goes well with an anniversary, doesn't it? Yes! It's finely carbonated🫧. It definitely has a lemon🍋feeling and this is a swishy blink ❗️. I thought 😓 but as I drank more, the sweetness started to prevail and I was able to mesh both sour and sweet 😏 It's a little too sweet for us.... I drank 80% of it, but I wanted to drink something different 😆. Don't worry. We just finished the rest 😊. Long time no Tochigi love 🥰.

It was hot, so I put some ice on the glass... ah... it's so nice and cold and shwashy 😋It's unusually sweet for a sparkling sake (I was told by the liquor store that the second fermentation is dry). I looked closer and saw that it said "carbon dioxide gas" so I wondered if it was a gas-added type. I thought Kubota was supposed to be light and dry... 🤔That was delicious! Thanks for the treat 🙏.

I opened the bottle because I wanted to drink something sweet once in a while. The aroma is mild rather than sweet. Oh! The sweetness rushes in as you continue to drink. It's a delicious 🍎 sake! Sweet and sour and noobie lover 😘. And Jay, as long as it's chilled to a crisp, it's not too sweet for him. Maybe he has a young tongue 😝.

After having been to Chiba and then Nagano, all of which have deep ties to J&N, it was time to go back to Tochigi for some Tochigi sake 🤗. First Nanamizu! Oh, it smells so sweet! The label said it smelled like pink grapefruit, but I don't know what that smells like to begin with 😆. One sip and this is definitely tropical! But the aftertaste is sweet and bitter. Hmm⁉️This leaves a bitter aftertaste. I know what you mean," said Nobby. I was drinking it while saying, "Yes, that's right... What? Where did the bitterness go? 😳 I've heard that it disappears after a few days... but it's gone after two or three cups⁉️. We both felt the same way and laughed at how ridiculous it was 🤣 We decided that the bitterness of the grapefruit turned juicy! In summary, it was delicious 😊. Love Tochigi
