This week, I decided to go with a sake from Hokkaido, a region I rarely have a chance to drink, which I took to a liquor store I visited the other day after much agonizing. So, we will open a bottle of Chitose Tsuru by Nippon Seizake. This time we will open a bottle of Fuyu-Higuma. This is the first time I have tasted this brewery since last year's Summer Higuma. Let's enjoy it right away. The first day The top clear liquid. First, the aroma. It has a refreshing aroma. When you put it in your mouth, you will taste a refreshing sweetness, followed by a pungent spiciness and bitterness. The lingering aftertaste is sharp with a firm bitterness. It is a refreshing sake with a smooth taste that can be enjoyed from start to finish, and goes well with a meal. Nigori (nigori) The mouthfeel is firm with just a hint of sweetness. The middle to the latter half of the bottle has a bitterness. It is very tasty with an increased drinking experience. The sweetness and umami in the bitterness is nice as you continue drinking. The second day The top clear layer. When you take a sip, you will feel sourness, bitterness, and a hint of sweetness. The bitterness lingers in the aftertaste. Nigori (nigori) The sweetness and umami also increase and it is delicious. The second half is nicely balanced with lingering bitterness and spiciness. A good sake really makes you feel blissful.

My wife is shopping with a friend today. I have no family or personal matters to attend to today. So, after finishing miscellaneous errands and shopping at home, I will have lunchtime drinking alone at home today. The accompaniment for such a continuous lunchtime drinking immorality is Denshogiku from Kangiku Meikozo. I had been looking forward to drinking this sake since I learned about it from Sakegawa. So, let's have it right away. The first day The first day was Friday with my wife. First, the aroma. It has a refreshing aroma. When you put it in your mouth, the sweet and bitter taste hits you. It is already delicious at first impression. After that, only the bitterness remains, and you feel a lingering, wriggly taste and a chili chili stimulation on your tongue. It has not only sweetness but also bitterness, and it finishes cleanly, giving the impression that it is a very delicious sake that can be easily matched with food. My wife was also pleased with the taste. The third day The sweetness has increased and it is very fruity, juicy and delicious on the third day. The bitterness spreads from the middle to the latter half of the bottle and lingers on for a long time. It is well-balanced and this time, too, Kangiku was as delicious as its reputation. A good sake is a great source of energy 😊.

The third drink at my favorite yakitori restaurant was Nabeshima Harvest Moon, which I had previously enjoyed. The owner asked us if we would like to drink it. The owner asked me if I would like to drink it, so I gladly accepted. It was a delicious Nabeshima after all. The last one was SAKUGENOCHI from Shimizu Seizaburo Shoten. This is my favorite sake that makes me think what a delicious junmai sake it is. I will have it immediately. First, the aroma. It has a sweet and gorgeous aroma. When you put it in your mouth, it is as you would expect from Saku-sama. The sweetness and umami from the fresh mouthfeel are irresistible. This sweet and umami taste with a solid drinking experience is truly delicious. Gennochi is always delicious, and you will want to repeat the experience again and again. We spent another blissful day full of sake, from lunchtime drinking to the liquor store to our favorite yakitori restaurant.

The second drink at my favorite yakitori restaurant was Drunken Whale Akiagari by Drunken Whale Brewery. I haven't had drunken whale since my first post on Sakegawa. I will have it immediately. First, the aroma. Refreshing ginjo aroma. When you put it in your mouth, you can feel the spiciness and bitterness from the umami. It is certainly not sweet, but it is delicious. The lingering taste in the latter half is bitterness. I thought it was a delicious sake that goes well with food.

After feasting my eyes at the liquor store, I went to my usual favorite yakitori restaurant. The first drink was a Kutouryuu from the Kuroryu Sake Brewery. It has been a long time since I had a drink other than Kuroryu. First, the aroma. It has a refreshing ginjo aroma. In the mouth, it has a traditional Japanese sake taste, but at the same time, it has an exquisite sweetness, bitterness, and spiciness. This sake is supposed to be heated, and it certainly looks delicious when heated. It was a very tasty sake with a smooth and clean mouthfeel that you would not expect from a junmai sake. We were served oden today.

The last sake at Unagidani will be the first sake from the brewery. It was Sekiya Brewery's Houraisen no Sora. We chose this sake that we had been curious about since we saw it at Sakegawa. I will have it right away. First, the aroma. The aroma is not so strong. When you put it in your mouth, you will be hit with sweetness and bitterness, but the sweetness is very beautiful and delicious. The sweetness and bitterness shake your brain. It is just definitely delicious. As I continue drinking, I think that this sweetness is quite my favorite. And it is not only sweet, but also has a good balance of bitter and spicy. I would like to drink it at home someday. Now, after this, I would like to go to a liquor store to feast my eyes.

The second drink at Unagidani-san was Tazake Junmai Ginjo Yamahai by Nishida Shuzo-ten. Tasake is another sake that you don't come across very often, so we went ahead and had it. First, the aroma. The aroma is not so strong. When you put it in your mouth, you will feel a bitter taste from the beginning to the end. Then, a fresh and beautiful sweetness takes over and disappears, followed by a gradation of lingering spiciness. It is also delicious. After all, the mouthfeel is overwhelmingly beautiful and smooth. As the temperature rises, the bitterness is suppressed, and the sweetness and spiciness increase, which is also good.

Today I am visiting Unagidani in Shinsaibashi for drinking alone. I have been wanting to go there once and finally did. The style is to choose and order from a large refrigerator. Since I was there, I ordered a Cosmos label from Shinmasa Sake Brewery's COLORS, which I have never had before. So, let's have it right away. First, the aroma. It has a refreshing aroma. In the mouth, citrusy grapefruit-like sweetness and astringency~. It is already too delicious. It was like a quintessential Niimasa. The acidity is also present, and the sake is truly refreshing and tasty from start to finish. It is the best for lunchtime drinking.

This time it is a fresh Sake Mirai Tanrei. The first time I had Kwang Suisen was so delicious that I was looking forward to drinking another sake rice. So, let's have it right away. The first day First, the aroma. It has a refreshing aroma. When you put it in your mouth, you will feel a gentle sweetness. Then, as your tongue gets chili-crunchy, you feel a slight bitterness, and the aftertaste is also slightly spicy. Again, too delicious. Overall, the wine is refreshing. It is truly fresh! The sweetness is felt first, but because it is so smooth and silky, you can't stop drinking. My wife also said it was delicious. Day 3 The sweetness is as refreshing as ever, but the bitterness is gradually coming through. I feel the bitterness has become a little stronger. The lingering aftertaste is a refreshing spiciness that spreads in the mouth while the bitterness remains the same. Fourth day The sweetness has become stronger. The balance of bitterness and spiciness finishes off the lingering taste. This refreshing taste is also good. Packaged sake. It is really a delicious sake and made me feel blissful.

Today my wife and I celebrated the anniversary of my parents' wedding anniversary and longevity celebration! Both of my parents were very touched and we talked a lot about the memories of our trip last month. On such an evening, I recently purchased a sake from Hatsumomiji, which I became interested in after reading a post by Sake-no-Wa. This time it was Harada Gentetsu. This is my first sake from the brewery! Let's have it right away! The first day First, the aroma. It smells sweet. When you put it in your mouth, you will feel a fluffy sweetness, and then, poof, it's gone. You will feel a slight bitterness and a refreshing citrus sweetness. The lingering aftertaste is a slight spiciness in the back of the throat. The mouthfeel is smooth, clean, easy to drink, and delicious! When paired with a meal, the bitterness and spiciness increase, giving it a slightly thicker feel. It was delicious without interfering with the meal. Day 2 The same beautiful mouthfeel as before. I started to feel a stronger bitterness and I think it became easier to match with meals. However, when matched with a meal, it has a different taste with an interesting sweetness. I also felt the firmness of unfiltered unpasteurized sake today. Third day The taste is soft again today. It is delicious with a firm sweetness. The bitter taste and the spiciness in the back of the throat come out when you think it has been reset. The third day was just as delicious as ever!

Wednesday's story. My wife was off the next day, so we had a complication drink. This time, we opened a bottle of Houou Mita FLY HIGH 2nd Mikumari by Kobayashi Shuzo, which we had enjoyed the first one so much that we got the second one as well. We drank it immediately with a delicious memory. Great effervescence. I wonder if the first one was this fizzy? First, the aroma. It has a refreshing aroma. When you put it in your mouth, you feel the stimulation of firm fizz. The bubbles are quite firm. The spiciness spreads in the mouth with a refreshing sweetness. The slight bitterness is also felt, and as always, it is a well-balanced and delicious sake. When paired with a meal, the sweetness and bitterness increased, and it was delicious as well. The third day It is still a bit shwashy, but it seems to have calmed down a bit. The sweetness and bitterness in the mouth and the chili fizz are as good as ever. I think the bitterness is a little more pronounced now. Mikumari, fortunately I was able to enjoy both the first and the second Mikumari, and it was truly a blissful sake time.

This is the first sake from the brewery I got at a souvenir shop on my trip to Toyama. Fumikiku Special Junmai Sake by Fumikiku Shuzo. Let's start with the sake. First, the aroma. The aroma is not so strong. It has a refreshing taste in the mouth. The spiciness spreads quickly, which is probably why it is so refreshing. The spiciness is followed by a hint of sweetness, and then a bitterness. The lingering taste is well-balanced between spiciness and sweetness. This sake is so beautiful that it is hard to believe that it is a special pure rice sake. I was surprised in a good way because I started drinking it with the image of a traditional sake. Well, we enjoyed it very much today.

Yesterday, the first day of a three-day weekend, I spent a relaxing day off. On a day like this, when I had nothing planned, I thought it would be nice to relax and drink at home from noon 🍶. So I decided to open a bottle for lunchtime drinking on Saturday. This is the first time to visit this brewery. It is a Junmai Ginjo from Shinshu Meizou. I have often seen this sake at Sake-no-Wa and wanted to try it. So, let's start with the sake. First, the aroma. It has a rich aroma of rice. When you put it in your mouth, you can feel the full-bodied aroma of cooked rice. This may be the first time for me to taste this kind of aroma. The taste has a soft sweetness and a firm umami that reminds one of rice. It also has a nice smooth taste. I don't feel much bitterness or pungency. If I had to say, I would say that there is a slight pungency in the aftertaste. I think it is about the same. I felt that it was a new taste that I have never had before, with a strong drinking experience and a strong sense of rice flavor. Overall, I thought it was a delicious sake with little stimulation, and one could immerse oneself in the umami of the rice. It was really a great sake time and made me want to drink more and more Nagano sake.

The second sake in the "Sakusaku" un-available-label drinking comparison is Hakutsuru-nishiki. I remember having Hakutsuru-nishiki sake at Toyo Bijin and remember how sweet and delicious it was. I am looking forward to seeing how it is brewed at my favorite sake brewery, Saku. So, I will have it right away. The first day First, the aroma. The aroma is not so strong. In the mouth, the usual gorgeous aroma of Saku is not so noticeable, but the balance of subtle sweetness, bitterness, and spiciness is the same as ever. Compared to Okayama Asahi, there is less gradation of flavors, and it seems to flow more smoothly. Day 2 A slightly sweet aroma was detected. The sweetness in the mouth seems to have increased a little, but the taste is still the same, flowing smoothly and cleanly. It is easy to drink with a slight lingering bitterness and spiciness. Fourth day. The same gentle sweetness as before. The bitterness seems to have become a little stronger. The lingering taste is soft and pungent. Hakutsuru-Nishiki may be my favorite on the 4th day, but my overall impression is that I prefer Okayama Asahi. This week we were comparing unbought labels from Seizaburo Shimizu Shoten's works. Saku is from one of the breweries that got me hooked on the sake swamp. It's been a while since I've had it at home, and I'm looking forward to it. The first bottle was Okayama Asahi. Let's have it right away. First, the aroma. First, the aroma. It has a citrus aroma. When you put it in your mouth, you can feel the gorgeous aroma that is typical of the crop, but you also feel a soft sweetness. It is already delicious. The mouthfeel is smooth and smooth. I managed this week. I want to drink well today because I have to work on Sunday. So I'll open another bottle today. Kumaya Shuzo's Iori Junmai Daiginjo. I tasted this sake at a Hanshin Department Store event the other day and brought it home. I know it is delicious, so I will enjoy it right away. First, the aroma. The aroma is not so strong. In the mouth, there is a beautiful sweetness followed by a chiri-chiri-chiri bitterness. In the second half, the spiciness spreads quietly - it is, after all, a delicious sake. When served with a meal, the bitterness also stands out a little, giving it a nice balance. It's time for a really delicious sake.

Something about drinking on weekdays has become a regular occurrence 💧. Today, I got this one from a nearby liquor store before visiting my favorite yakitori restaurant this past weekend. This is my first sake from a new brewery, Kaygetsu CEL24 Junmai Daiginjo from Tosa Shuzo. I was told by Sake-no-wa that CEL24 sake is delicious, so I finally got it. So, let's have it right away. First, the aroma. It has a sweet and fruity aroma. When you put it in your mouth, you can feel the sweetness that is also fruity. The mouthfeel is clean, smooth, and easy to drink. In the middle part of the bottle, you can feel the bitterness and a little bit of saltiness. In the second half, the spiciness spreads quickly in the mouth while retaining the sweetness, and the balance is so good that you can't stop drinking it. It was a truly delicious sake that completely changed my image of Kochi sake. If I had not learned about this sake at Sake-no-Wa, I am sure I would not have encountered this sake. It was another blissful sake time.

The last sake at our favorite yakitori restaurant was Ganki Junmai Ginjo Hiyoroshi by Yaoshin Shuzo. This will be the first time to drink Ganki Hiyoroshi. So, let's have it right away. First, the aroma. It is hard to describe, but it has a nice aroma. When you put it in your mouth, the sweet, delicious bitterness attacks you in a good way. The aftertaste lingers until the end. It has a freshness, and this is a really delicious sake. The balance is very good, and the richness of the sake is very satisfying, and it goes well with food. Once again, I was very pleased with the delicious sake and food. It was a fun time drinking and talking with my wife and the staff at the restaurant.

The second drink at my favorite yakitori restaurant is Gizaemon Aki by Wakabisu Shuzo. Following the summer version, I was able to enjoy the autumn version as well. Let's start with the aroma. First, the aroma. The aroma is not so strong. In the mouth, it has a complex flavor, but at the same time, it has a slightly old-fashioned sake feel to it, making it easy to drink. It has a gentle bitterness and is light on the palate, giving it an overall sense of freshness. It goes well with food and is good as a mealtime sake.
