Happy New Year to all of you at Sake no Wa🎍. I wish you all the best in this new year 🙇. I hope we can enjoy drinking good sake and posting again this year 🍶. I started the year with a zodiac label🎠 from Nanamizu in Tochigi, which I "jacked" at a liquor store for being cool! They started carrying it last year: ⭕️ As the label says, the aroma is elegant and fruity🍐. The palate is elegant, with a gentle sweetness and a sourness that spreads gently through the mouth while clearing the palate with a clean throat 😋. It has a wonderful taste that accompanies and does not interfere with the festive dishes 😊. Wishing you all a wonderful year ahead 😌.

In early December, I inadvertently broke my ribs and after 3 weeks of sobriety, I managed to recover enough to be able to drink at the year-end party at the end of the year. I managed to recover to the point where I could drink at the year-end party at the end of the year. 😮‍💨 The last bottle of the year was this one that the wife tasted and bought. The aroma is slightly sweet with a hint of muscat 🍇. The sweetness spreads on the palate, followed by a gentle rush of umami, with a pleasant acidity that makes it crisp and clean. It goes down the throat nicely. Since it is an autumn sake, the acidity seems to cut through the fatty dishes well. We had a lot of things happen this year, but we are glad to end it with a delicious sake 😌. I'm thinking of starting the new year with a zodiac sign label 🐎.

While I've been making nabe (hot pot) on the weekends lately and sake is on the rise, I finally got the last of the sake I was buying in early summer. The sake brewery was actually used in the filming of a TV series 📺. The wife had also seen it, so I was fortunate enough to buy it. The aroma is cemedine type, or sake-like. It has a mild umami on the palate, with a slight sweetness to an astringent and fluffy aftertaste. When I tasted it, I had the impression that it was more refreshing. I think it may have been stored poorly, as it seems to have aged a bit 😓. I will have to adjust the pace at which I buy it in the future.

This week has been busy as we head towards the end of the year and I finally had time to relax and drink 😅. I opened a bottle of this 🍶 that I bought in Tottori during the Obon vacation. It is "Inata Hime" brewed with "Goriki Rice". The aroma reminds me of the taste of rice. The taste of rice comes through in the mouth, and the umami comes on top. The finish is refreshing, with little lingering aftertaste. The taste is classic and satisfying. It goes perfectly with cheese kamaboko. ⭕️ It has been a long time since I had a relaxing evening drink 😌.

Yesterday I went out to see the autumn leaves 🍁 and today I went out for something else 🚃. I was feeling a bit tense, so I took a hot bath to warm up and finally had a glass of this sake that I bought in Tottori during my Bon vacation. It's a regular sake, so the aroma is moderate and the mouthfeel is light and dry, a classic taste that goes well with the hot pot we had for dinner today 🍲. As the weather gets colder, there will be more hot pots, and I want to find a sake to go with them. ☺️

I was going to open it yesterday, but I was too sleepy 💤, so I opened it today. We were busy running errands over the 3-day weekend, but this was a reward for our hard work as a couple. The aroma is sweet and pineapple-like, and the sweetness spreads on the palate, but there is also a hint of sourness, so it is easy to drink. It goes down the throat smoothly and there is not much of a lingering aftertaste. Neither of my spouses would buy a sake with a strong fruity taste, but this sake has an elegant sweetness that is cut by a moderate acidity, which is a nice touch. ⭕️

Today I had a light toast with a friend on the go. I tasted it at an event and bought it because it was easy to drink and had a stylish label. It has a sweet aroma, a gentle mouthfeel, sweetness and umami that spreads softly, and a dry aftertaste that goes down the throat nicely. It has a nice balance between the light dryness and sweet fruity taste that is typical of Niigata. ☺️ I didn't quite catch the woody aroma 😅 but it was delicious: ⭕️

With the arrival of cold weather starting next week, I opened a bottle of this one that I bought in early summer. The aroma is mild and melon-like 🍈. The sweetness and umami come out on the palate, and the acidity tightens up the mouth afterwards, followed by a pleasantly fluffy aftertaste. I paired it with mushrooms and tempura for dinner and it went well with them, making for a happy dinner. ☺️

Today we went to the liquor store again to buy sake that the wife wants, and for dinner we had a hot pot 🍲. I opened a bottle of DATESEVEN "Urakasumi style" which is now in stock and I had to drink some sake. The aroma is fruity and sweet. The umami and acidity spreading from the palate are well balanced and create a happy taste. ☺️ The lingering aftertaste is mild yet pleasant and refreshing, and the crispness is delicious 😋. I think I personally prefer this DATESEVEN: ⭕️ I'm planning to attend another event next week, so I'll probably buy some alcohol, so I'll have to savor it and drink it too😅.

The other day, I visited Izumo-taisha Shrine and bought a cup of sake 🍶 "Shimaneko labeled Tensho" at a souvenir shop along the approach to the shrine. I will drink it with the Shimanekko cup that I bought at Izumo-taisha a few years ago 😺. The aroma is mild and melon-like. The mouthfeel is soft, then the umami of the rice spreads out and the aftertaste is dry and sharp. Maybe the water is soft, or maybe it's the overall smoothness that makes it easy to drink. ⭕️ This sake made me think that classic sake is also delicious. ☺️

It's Halloween🎃 in the world, but it was cold today, so we had mushroom hot pot soup🍄🍲. To go with the nabe, we paired it with "Aizan" (🍶) from "Banshu Issen", which is a couple's favorite. The aroma is sweet, apple-like, and the mouthfeel is soft, with a subtle gasiness that gives it a perfect balance of umami and acidity. And the crisp finish with a nice lingering aftertaste is wonderful 😊. I feel that the high level of "Banshu Issen" is that you really can't go wrong with any of them. ⭕️ I hope to make it my goal to visit the sake brewery this year 😌.

I finally opened a bottle of Amezure's summer sake, which I had been curious about because of its stylish label and bottle. The aroma is mineral or cool and refreshing. The mouthfeel has a strong gassy feeling with a hint of sourness, and the bitterness quickly rushes in and goes down the throat smoothly. It is more like beer than sake. It is dry and crisp as described, so it is certainly good for summer ❓ but since both of us are not beer drinkers, it was not a good match for us 😅. I guess it was also a mistake to open it in the cooler season 💧.

Today from noon, I attended the Fushimi brewery opening event for the first time and was happy to visit a sake brewery I wanted to try ☺️ (the picture is of Jyuseki's event limited edition sake). As the evening settled down a bit, we opened this bottle 🍶. Pale peach-colored sake brewed with "peach yeast" that I bought at an event in early summer. From the aroma of grapes like red wine to the mouthfeel, from the fruity sweetness to the refreshing aftertaste, it goes down your throat nicely. Since it is 9%, it is light and easy to drink. It is so nuanced that if you serve it to someone without telling them, they may not even realize it is sake, so it is good for beginners.

I tasted it at a department store and it was delicious, but I didn't buy it because I had a lot of stock at home, so I bought a small bottle at a supermarket wagon. The aroma was subdued, and after a light umami taste, the spiciness rushed in and left a sharp taste and a lingering aftertaste. It has a traditional sake feel to it, but it is completely different from the sake I was allowed to taste, so I wonder if the quality has gone down a bit ❓. Next time I will buy a proper one and post again.

Today is the Mid-Autumn Moon, so the wife was very excited to have a tsukimi-sake (moon-viewing sake) and opened the bottle because she bought this sake for that purpose. (I ran out to buy it here 😆). The aroma is fresh and pear-like, with a fruity sweetness and umami that spreads well in the mouth. The aftertaste is crisp with a sharp acidity that makes you want to drink the next cup and the next and the next. We had a couple of drinks in the evening in a nearby park to accompany the cheese 🌕.

Today is Sake Day🍶, so I opened a bottle of this Junmai Daiginjo that I bought at the event to drink a little better sake. Takeoka" is my personal hit of the year. The aroma is fresh, youthful and melon-like 🍈. The palate has a very pleasant flow from a slight gasiness to a gentle sweetness to a pleasant acidity: ☺️ The smooth finish with a nice lingering aftertaste makes me happy 😊. I've only been immersed in the sake swamp for about a year, but it was one of those days when I wanted to spend time without forgetting to thank the people who work hard to make sake. ⭕️

The mornings and evenings are getting cooler, so I decided I had to try a summer sake. The aroma is like fresh pears, the mouthfeel is very gentle and smooth, the sweetness and umami spread out with a pleasant acidity, and it goes down the throat gently, but it also has the sharpness of Yamadanishiki. You can feel the high level of Hiroshima's sake. ⭕️ It is 12%, so overall it is gentle, so it may not suit those who like strong sake, but I would recommend it to those who are not used to drinking sake 🍶. We tasted two kinds and bought this one, but we regret that we should have bought both 😅.

I had always wanted to try Oumine. When I found a cup of sake that is only served twice a year at a restaurant, I bought it without hesitation. The aroma was mild and fruity. The palate has a fruity sweetness and moderate acidity, with a nice bitter accent and a refreshing aftertaste. It made me want to try the other wines as well, and I ran out of them very quickly.

今日は奥様は実家でお泊まりと言う事で1人で晩酌🍶 家の掃除等を済ませて、奥様に頼まれていたお酒を買いに酒屋さんへ🚗 ミッションを済ませて、自分の物を店員さんと相談してこちらを購入⭕️ 香りは甘いかつ柑橘系のような酸味のある香り。 口当たりはほのかなガス感からグッと旨味を感じさせてくれて程よい酸味が口の中を引き締めてくれてスッキリとした後口。 飲みやすいので、どんどん注いでしまうのは上品な酸味のおかげなんでしょうね😋 何となく田んぼに沈んでいく夕焼けをトンボが飛んでいるような、どこか物寂しげだけど懐かしい晩夏を思い起こさせる味わいとでもいいましょうか🌇 裏のラベルの身内トークも遊び心があって良いですね😄 ちなみに酒屋さんいわく、「サンセットオレンジ」の方が酸味が出てるとの事です。 「サンセットオレンジ」の情景みたいな感想書いてしまったけど、飲んだのは「ターコイズブルー」です😆 1人でしっぽり晩酌もたまには良いですね⭕️

Since we prepared yakitori for dinner, we thought Omachi would be the perfect sake to go with it. This is a sake brewery that the Omachiste's wife was interested in at the event. We tasted several and finally opened the bottle after purchasing it in early summer. The aroma is very sake-like with a slight fresh fruitiness. The mouthfeel has a fruity flavor, but it also has the umami and sweetness of Omachi-like rice, while it leaves the throat with a good sharpness, giving a great sense of satisfaction. ☺️ As expected, it goes well with yakitori (grilled chicken). It's 17 degrees so you have to drink it with care 🍶. I'd like to try the autumn hiyaoroshi as well. ⭕️
