九州生まれの山口育ちで、昔から焼酎ばかり飲んでいました。 就職してからは、関西在住です。 60歳を過ぎてから急に身体作りに目覚めてしばらく禁酒していましたが、2022年のベストボディ日本大会で大会を卒業してお酒解禁 そこから最初に飲んだ日本酒にハマり、現在は焼酎も卒業してしまいました。 最近では日本酒専用の冷蔵庫を購入して、常に10本以上の好きな日本酒をストックしています。 日本酒初心者です。

Winter Nigorinpic 50 We have finally reached the big 50 bottles of Nigorinpick 😇! At this point, I checked the Japanese cellar and the Sake Reizo, and there are still 23 bottles of nigori type sake left 🤣. So we will end the Winter Nigorinpik today and hold the Spring Nigorinpik in the near future 😇. The freshness and fruitiness of the brewer's freshly made brews is unmatched 😀. It was a delicious sake that was a perfect way to end the Winter Nigorinpik 😇. Thanks to the Nigorinpic, we have a lot of clear sake left that we haven't had a chance to drink yet, so we'll do our best to open the bottle 😇.

Winter Nigorinpik 49 What's for dinner today, I made Oden 😀 ! Kaorin had to work late, but I finished work early, so I put my skills to the test 😇 For the sake to go with it, I chose Eikoufuji's Hakuyo Ochigara-mi Hakuyo 😀. As usual, we compared the top clear sake mixed at room temperature and the chilled one 😀. As expected from Eikoufuji, all types are delicious 😀. The one I liked the most was the mixture at room temperature, but the chilled one was also delicious 😇. What surprised me even more was the comparison of the previously opened Shichibonspear, which was served chilled and heated 🤣. I have always found the sweetness and umami to be stronger when heated, but this comparison showed that the heated version was more dry 🤣. Kaorin said that when she heated it up, a spear flew at her 😀. Today's comparison was a delicious one with cold sake, room temperature and heated sake 😀.

Hi Robin 😀 I enjoyed Robin's favorite Shiga sake at different temperatures 😀. The first day I tried it cold and at room temperature, it was sweeter at room temperature, but as soon as I heated it up, it changed its expression 🤣. Sake is a very deep drink 😀.

Winter Nigorinpic 48 Kaorin asked me what kind of sake we should have for today's nabe, so I thought about it 🤣. I opened the bottle thinking that since Honorary Ikezuki is a sweet and delicious sake, I wanted something nigori, dry and sharp...and if it wasn't nigori, Shichibonjari would be perfect for this 😇. It was a jackpot 🎯! Even though it's nigori, it doesn't feel too sweet, and the moderate umami of rice and the acidity from the activation accentuate the dryness, so it went well with the hot pot 😀. Kaorin was happy that this was the best sake we drank today and that I have grown up to be able to drink dry sake, but I think it was probably because it was a pot with a robust flavor that this sake was perfect for it 😀. It was a delicious sake that was perfect for a solid tasting dish😇.

Winter Nigorinpik 47 Following yesterday's Peach Color Activated Nigori, today we had the White Junmai Activated Nigori 😀 It is made with the same yeast as the Peach Color. The white one is made with the same yeast as the peach color one, but this one is made with Association 701 yeast (No. 7) while the peach color one is made with Association red yeast 😀. It's amazing how different yeast can give sake a completely different color and taste 🤣. The peach color was more refreshing and easier to drink than the peach color, but I could not forget the sweet taste of the peach color, which had a peculiar taste.

Winter Nigorinpic 46 We call it the Winter Nigorinpic, but we have finally reached the Peach Festival 🤣. Today, we had a beautiful pink nigori sake from Honorary Ikezuki, which is called "Peach Color Activated Nigori". It is a beautiful pink nigori sake, but I was surprised to find that it has more lees than any of the sake selections I prepared... it's like a dobrok 😀. First I let the supernatant come to room temperature... it was refreshing and had acidity from the activation, like a delicious rosé wine😇 After mixing it... this is a pink white sake 😀. The alcohol content is 12 degrees and the sake level is -40, which is a pretty aggressive spec, but here too, the carbonic acidity derived from the activation tightens the overall taste 😀. It was a very impressive and tasty sake with a beautiful appearance but also a distinctive taste 😇.

Winter Nigorinpic 45 The other day, before visiting Joyo Sake Brewery in Kyoto, I went to see the Aoya Plum Grove and was disappointed that I could not see any plums at all, so today I went to see the plum grove at Expo Park 😀 . Unfortunately, the weather was on and off with light rain, but I brought a bento lunch and fruit cakes... and the sake to go with it was Miyakanbai's Origaraumi, which I thought was the only sake for ume ume ume ume ume ume. The aroma of this sake calls for spring. As soon as the bottle is opened, the gorgeous aroma spreads out. The aroma is even stronger when you bring the bottle to your mouth 😇 The taste is as good as the aroma, and is as delicious as Chinese or Japanese bento 😀.

Winter Nigorinpic 44 I forgot to mention that I visited Aoya Plum Grove the other day with my bento and this Isshaku Suisei Sasanigori before visiting Joyo Sake Brewery in Kyoto 🤣. I had heard that the plum festival would start the next week, so I thought I could see a few plums, but unfortunately I only saw a few branches 😅. This Isshuikusuisei Sasanigori was a delicious sake with a robust flavor and fullness, but what surprised me even more was the great value for money 🤣. What surprised me even more was the great value for money 🤣 What a surprise that such a delicious Sasanigori Special Junmai was priced at 1400 yen! I feel like I got a great deal 😇

Winter Nigorinpik 43 Today I wanted to drink something with a strong schwag feeling, so I chose Nozomu-san's Active Nama Nigori Sansan 😀. It had a perforated cap just like the other day's Sengoku Yukidharma, so I put cello tape on the cap as soon as I got it home and stored it in the cellar at 0°C... but it still didn't work and I couldn't feel much of a fizzy sensation 😅. I guess you can't cellotape a cap with a hole in it and you have to drink it as soon as possible 🤣. As usual, we compared the top clear and the mixture at room temperature and the chilled mixture, and Nozomu was impressed with the taste of the top clear and the mixture at room temperature 🤣. The chilled one was impressive with its doshy taste, while the room temperature gorgeousness was more to my liking😇. I'll try to open the sake with the perforated cap as soon as possible when I get it 😅.

Winter Nigorinpik 42 Following the comparison of Wakamusume's sake from my hometown in Yamaguchi Prefecture, we had the Winter Otoshiri sake from Omine Sanzukuri, also from Yamaguchi Prefecture 😀. The Winter Nigorinpik has passed the 40th selection, but we still have more than 20 bottles of Nigorinpik selected sakes in our house 🤣. I'm going to finish the Nigorinpik once I reach 50 bottles and then move on to the next Nigorinpik in the spring, but I think it's not the right season to have a beautiful Yuki-Onna here in the spring, so I'm opening the bottle today 🤣. As usual, I compared the top clearings mixed with the top clearings brought to room temperature with the ones left chilled, but I think this Osa tastes best chilled 🤣. It has a strong carbonation and is very fruity😇. Kaorin and I wondered what kind of fruit it was 😀. Melon? Green apple? Gruffre? ... the one that fit best was the muscat feeling 😀. This is definitely a delicious drink too😇

Winter Nigorinpic 41 The fourth bottle of light nigori from Wakamusume is the newest Usukazakura 😇. Not only are all of their wakamusume's wines delicious, but also their labels are gorgeous 🌸. Until yesterday, it was Hana Tachibana, a combination of Omachi and Yamada Nishiki, which was the first one we had (Kaorin said it was the 12 secret colors of Yamada Nishiki), but after drinking Usuhana-zakura today, Kaorin and I agreed that our family's favorite is this one, Usuhana-zakura Usugori. We have decided to go with this Hu-Hanazakura Usu-Hanazakura Usu-Nigori. I was a little disappointed that it didn't have the fizziness of the Hana Tachibana, but the juicy fruitiness from the gently spreading mouthfeel and the beautiful sharpness...it was delicious😇!

Winter Nigorinpic 40 We have finally reached the 40 bottle mark, and we still have more than 20 bottles of nigori sake on standby because of the participation of additional nigori sakes 🤣. Today's sake will be Wakamusume's Juni-Hisiro 😀. The 12 Secret Colors is made with Yamada Nishiki 😀. We've had a lot of different sake rice so far, but our family seems to like other sake rice better than Yamadanishiki 🤣. I have an image that it is too sharp, but this Jyunihishiki has a light and clean acidity that I don't feel so much 😇. I liked Hana Tachibana the best because I could feel the complexity and schwarziness of the same lineage. I liked Hana Tachibana the best, but Kaorin said she liked this Jyunihisiro the best😇.

Winter Nigorinpik 39 Second sake of Wakamusume-san drinking comparison 😀. The first bottle of the other day, Wakamusume Hanabachibana, was a mixture of Yamadanishiki and Oyama, but this Botan was brewed with 100% Oyama 😀 The basic taste that is typical of Wakamusume is the same, but we could also taste the robust flavor that is typical of Omachi 😀. It has the same basic taste that is typical of Wakamusume, but I could also taste the robust umami that is typical of Omachi 😀. However, for my personal taste, I would prefer the assemblage sake Hanabachibana, which has a more complex taste and fullness than the Omachi alone 🤣. Of course, the difference is so slight that it can only be felt by comparing the two 🤣.

Izakaya Monorail Niigata Sake 3️⃣ My least favorite in this Niigata sake drinking comparison was Nohtaka 🤣. I think its robust flavor is a favorite for those who like light and dry sake, but it's still a little too early for us little kids😅. The one we liked the most in this comparison was Yukichubai 😇. It was light but had a delicious junmai-like rice flavor 😇. I was impressed by the variety of flavors in this Niigata sake 😀. I should not judge it by the image I had so far 🤣. It was a day that opened up a whole new world of Sake for me 😀.

Izakaya Monorail Niigata Sake 2️⃣ The Niigata Sake we had this time was all made from Gohyakumangoku 😀. It is indeed a sake from a cold region of Japan 😀. I knew the name of Ayu Masamune before, but I had passed it by thinking it was Niigata's dry sake, but I was surprised when I drank it for the first time this time ‼️🤣. It was a delicious sake with a good balance of sweetness, sourness and bitterness. Preconceptions and assumptions are not good 😅.

Izakaya Monorail Niigata Sake 1️⃣ Following the Kochi Sake event in December and the Tottori Sake event in January, this time it was the Niigata Sake event 😀. For us, Niigata sake has an image of being a light, dry and very expensive sake 🤣. I asked Orin what she was going to do this time because it was Niigata Sake and she said she could drink a little more dry sake now, so we decided to attend the event 😀. We were allocated to 8 sake categories in our car this time, and I was surprised when I looked at the bookmark 😅... there were quite a lot of sake with negative sake content. Among them, the sake was +4, but very mellow, sharp and tasty. It also looks like it has gold leaf in it, so I was able to enjoy drinking it with the people at the same table, wondering how much gold leaf was in it 😇.

Winter Nigorinpic 38 Like the previous Banshu Issen, I had been holding back from drinking nigori sake that I had already had at this year's Nigorinpik until now, but I decided to drink it later 😇. I couldn't hold back and had to skip it 🤣. We have 4 types of sake in our house😇. The room temperature supernatant was so delicious that it made me think that this was probably Hanatachibana without the light nigori, but the chilled mixture had a fruity sweetness in a solid taste and even a sparkling taste that bounced on my tongue, making it a really delicious sake 😀. By the way, this Hanabachibana is brewed with half Yamadanishiki and half Omachi 😀. I'm looking forward to seeing how I feel when I compare different sake rice in the future 😇.

Winter Nigorinpic 37 At this Nigorinpik, we started with the sake we hadn't had yet 😀 We drank Banshu Ichiken on the lees last year. Last year, I drank this Banshu Ikkyo Lees Tangled and was so impressed with the adult melon soda and Orin that I got it again this year but couldn't open the bottle 😅. We couldn't hold back any longer and opened the bottle a little out of order 🤣. This year's adult melon soda was just as delicious as last year's. 😇

Izakaya Kintetsu Express Hinotori Opening Two days of sake drinking in Mie are safely over and we are on our way home 😀. The sake we will have on the Kintetsu train on the way home is Junmai Ginjo by Fukuwagura 😀. This sake is made by Imuraya, which is famous for azuki products such as azuki bars and other Japanese sweets and ice cream bars. It is a sweet sake, as you would expect from Imuraya, but it was a delicious sake that did not interfere at all when paired with an assortment of Mie's specialty bento boxes 😀. I'm glad I was able to end my Mie Prefecture sake trip with this sake 😇. By the way, the return trip was my first ride on the Kintetsu Limited Express Hinotori 😀. I had always wanted to take this train at least once, so I was excited and decided to take the premium seats 😀. The three rows of seats were comfortable with wide space between the seats and a comfortable recline, but... everyone on the train was so quiet that if I made a single noise I would get stared at 🤣. I promised myself I would never sit in premium seats again😅.

Walking Brewery Tour Trip 25 The last stop on our Mie Sake Brewery Tour was Ogawa Honke. This is another small sake brewery where the brewer, who is also the toji (master brewer), is alone in his office 😀. Originally, their brand name was Yachiyo-san, but they started making a dry sake called Den because they themselves like dry sake 😀 The character "Den" is also written in the Japanese character "jinbun", which means "from the human side". The character for "Den" is also very particular about the character for "de" and "n", which is a good character for a human being 🤣.
