Ori Hunter 3️⃣th bottle Today's sake is Yuki no Bijin-san, which is the first time I've had it, including the clear sake 😀. As expected of an active nigori, you can feel the great piquancy 😀. I managed to prevent it from blowing out, but the automatic stirring was about to start and even the supernatant has a little bit of oriki mixed in 😅. Still, I could taste the difference in taste from the fully mixed stuff 🤣. The supernatant was very sharp and conveyed a straighter taste 😀. The mixed sake conveyed a more rounded taste and fruitiness better and more suited to our taste preferences😇 I have never had a clear sake so I don't know what the base Yuki no Bijin tastes like, but I could imagine that the clear sake is probably a delicious fruity sake as well😇.

Orihunter 2️⃣th book Following yesterday's visit, today we have another lovely beautiful snow woman from Yamaguchi prefecture 😀. After all, this sake is also a must-have nigori sake😇. When the bottle was opened, there was a rather loud noise, but there was no automatic stirring and the supernatant was removed without incident 😀. The supernatant had a weak melon squash nuance, but the mixture turned into a more complex and delicious sake with some dairy and sweet rice nuances mixed in 😇 I was impressed with the sake on our table today 😇 We had a gorgeous lineup with Jikin, Shinshu Kamerei, Yukiten, and Yukiojo 😇.

Ori Hunter 1️⃣ We just opened a bottle of Yukiten from my hometown, Amami in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture 😀. We were going to start the drinking year with this sake, but due to 🐢's arrival schedule, we had to delay the start a bit and Yukiten ended up being the second best sake 🤣. But as an Orihunter, I'm the top hitter though😇. There was no blowout or automatic stirring, but I could still feel the vigor of the sake 😀. The supernatant was elegant, sweet and fruity, reminiscent of white peaches and apples 😀. When we mixed in the oli, it suddenly became more energetic, and the sourness was added and changed to a nuance reminiscent of grapes 😇. The ability to taste these little changes in flavor at the same time is one of the fun aspects of nigori sake😇.

We have a rule in our family that the first new sake of the season is the start of the sake drinking year 😇. The 25~26 sake drinking year will start with a new sake from Shinshu Kamerei 😇. We were told by our regular liquor store that the new Shinshu Kamerei sake would be available on Saturday, so we extended the start of the sake drinking year until today 😀. It's been a long time since I've had a fresh bottle of 🐢sake 😇. We still have a few bottles of 🐢sama hi-ire, but I definitely prefer the nama sake 😀. The aroma is more subdued than jungin or jundai, but it has a fruity yet robust sweetness and sharpness 😇. I drink a lot of nigori type sake. I also focused on Shihiro and Wakamusume, but with 8 bottles of Shihiro and 6 bottles of Wakamusume's light nigori, I think I did ok 😀. This season I will imitate Hiro and become a hunter 🙆‍♂️ First, I will be a nigori sake hunter...or Ori hunter for short! Next, I will drink more than 10 bottles of 🐢sama, 🐢hunter😇 Lastly, I will be a ❤️ hunter, looking for my favorite sake rice, Aizan😇 Today I am a 🐢hunter 1️⃣😇

Today, after buying new sake from my favorite brewer at the sake shop, I went to the Railway Expo at the Expo Park with Karin for a walking tour. I don't particularly like trains, but when I went to Iwakuni this summer, I took the Iwakuni Seiryu Line from Iwakuni to Nishikicho to buy Kinjaku, and I heard that Iwakuni sake would also be on display 😀. Unfortunately, I did not win the lottery for the right to buy a bottle of Kinjaku 🤣. We had lunch at the Expo Park with ekiben from the venue and horumon udon from the kitchen car, and the sake to go with it was Five White by Gobashi in Iwakuni... a sake we had bought from a brewery in Iwakuni and brought back with us😇. The other Fives have always been made to the same specs, but the White is the only one that can be changed to any color, so it seems to be made to different specs every year, and the specs are undisclosed 🤣. According to the information I received from Mr. Nakama, the Toji of Gobashi, it is an assemblage of Nishitoshizuku and Yamadanishiki and is Junmai Ginjo. The aroma is a fruity mix of banana and citrus, and the taste is sweet and fruity with a citrusy acidity that accentuates the sharpness of the sake.

Kaorin and I had booked a ticket for the Okayama Sake event on the Osaka Monorail the week before last, but we couldn't make it 😅. We wanted to give the tickets to our friends at Sake-no-Wa, but they all seemed to be busy 😓. I was going to take only the lunch box for the event, but the monorail staff offered me a leftover from the last Hokuriku Sake Monorail along with the lunch box 😇. I couldn't drink Okayama sake, but I could drink Ishikawa sake 😀. I had heard a lot about Sogen, but I had an image of it being a dry sake, so I couldn't get my hands on it. Today we celebrated Kaorin's father's birthday at our house, but since he only drinks beer, we weren't planning to drink sake. But after Kaorin's parents came home, we decided we wanted to have a little sake, so we opened a bottle of this sake that we had stocked up on during our Yamaguchi brewery tour 😀 This sake is a limited edition sake from a brewery, but we heard that it is not so much a specimen itself. This sake is a limited edition sake, and while the specs themselves are unheard of, the taste is also extraordinary 😇. The color was a beautiful clear yellow with no signs of aging 😀. Hi Yasbaye 🐦. Opening a good drink on a good day, that's a phrase I'd like to put up as a poster in my liquor store ✨Ash I haven't seen it since I went over budget and passed on it 💦 I'm jealous that I haven't been able to drink it 😍.

Good evening, Pon 😀 Of all the Colors, Ash was the only one I hadn't had before, so I couldn't help myself 🤣. But now that I've had it once, maybe 2 bottles of Cosmos would be better next time😅.

We had just purchased another bottle of Otters from the Otters' brewery, so we compared Otters 😀. This is BLUE, which Otters started making in the US 😀. I was surprised to see that the taste of BLUE is quite different from that of Toryumon 🤣. It's a delicious sake, but I don't think the name "Ottersai" is quite right 😅. I'd like to ask the brewer next time I talk to him if it's the taste made for American tastes or if it's the difference in water 😀. By the way, I heard when I visited Kido the other day that they are going to start making sake in the US too 😀. Otters make their sake next door in New York, but Kido-san is planning to start on the West Coast😇. But Heiwa Shuzo said they won't ship under the name Kido because the water is still different 😀.

Good morning, Yasube-san ☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀☀. I see that you can buy the newest "Otter Blue" at the brewery 😲. I'd like to taste the early version I bought before, the facility and water were imported from the US and the sake rice from Japan, but now the sake rice is produced locally.

Hi Gyve 😀 I see what you mean 😀. I bought it at the brewery's store, thinking that BLUE is sold only in Yamaguchi prefecture, even though it is also sold in Kansai 😀. It seems to be a mixture of domestic and US rice 😇.

Hi Yasbay 😃. Otter BLUE has a different taste: ❗️ I avoided it because of the import price, but now my interest in drinking it has exploded: ⤴️

Hi Hiro, good evening 😀 I think it's good if you think it's a different kind of sake 🤣. But considering the price, I don't think I'll have it next time😅.

Since we've had two posts in a row of drinking alcohol that is so unlike our family, I'm going to continue with another oddity 🤣. It's Otters' Dragon's Gate 😀. This is also a sake that we bought when we visited the brewery. What's so unusual about it is that Otters have been trying to reproduce the taste of their sake without having a toji (master brewer), but as a challenge, a pair of young brewers went through the whole process of making the sake from washing the rice to the top of the tank and made this sake expressing what they think is Otters' style 😀. The head brewer, who happens to be a good friend of mine, told me that he would not release any sake that did not pass his check 😅. This time Mr. Hori and Mr. Yamaguchi expressed themselves Otters😇. From the attack to the mid-palate, it had the same Otters' nuance as usual, but the usual Otters' sweet and umami taste lasted for a certain length of time and then snapped, whereas this one seemed to fade out gradually 😇. Which one is better is a matter of taste, but that's the only difference I felt 🤣. I thought it was wonderful that young brewers are growing up like this😇.

Good morning, Yasube! I enjoy your posts about the different types of sake from Yamaguchi Prefecture 🎵. We are going on a trip to Yamaguchi Prefecture and plan to visit both breweries, so if there is a tasting, it will be up to my wife, but I'm looking forward to seeing them 🤗.

Good morning, ma-ki-chan 😀 I see you are planning a sake brewery tour in Iwakuni City 😀. It's fun 😇 Of the five breweries, Otters and Gobashi are the only ones that offer tasting, especially Gobashi who let us drink everything for free😇.

We recently visited MURASHIGE SHUZO in Iwakuni City. This is Uraginkan Kuromatsu, a limited edition sake from that brewery. When poured into a glass, the color was more golden than yellow, and the aroma was rich with a hint of caramel 😀 It was a matured sake. It was a matured sake, like a so-called "matured sake" 😀. It's not likely that we would ever choose such a sake at home, but this time we took it home because it was a limited edition from the brewery 😀. It tasted rich, thick and sweet 🤣. I compared the taste of the cold sake and the room temperature sake, and while the cold sake tasted a bit angular, the room temperature sake tasted rounder and tastier with a touch of rice 😀.

Good morning, Yasube 😊I see that Murashige Shuzo also has a back-label 😳I'm curious about their aged sake, as I personally have an image of an unusual brewery 😆.

Hi Nemuchi 😀 Rare sake from an unusual brewery... that's exactly what it was like 🤣. The only time we have had so called "mature sake" was when we had a sake tasting. We had only received Dharma-san's old sake for our sake tasting 😀.
