I once drove from Shizuoka to Koyasan (Mt. Koya) and on the way back, I stopped by Kamotonami Shrine (see photo). I was a little impressed to see that the Aburacho brewery was located near here. I looked up the topography further and found that there is a "Wind Forest Pass" (p.o.v.) I thought it was a modern name, but it is an ancient road. I wanted to go there. Well, I have never drunk Kaze no Mori, so I decided to buy it even though it is a little expensive if it is going to be donated to a charity. It is said to be stored in ice temperature, but it has been half a year since it was released from the warehouse, so I wonder if the taste has changed. I'm not sure 🤔. It has an alcoholic taste and the sourness is a good match 😁I see, this is the Kaze no Mori 😁. I had a pot of Kaldi's soup curry and pepper bacon as a side dish, but I wonder if they didn't go well together? 🤔

I thought it was Tenju Shuzo because it was called Chokaisan, but it wasn't, it seems to be a brewery specializing in dobrokusan. I noticed this after I bought it😅. There were black and white, but I couldn't get my hands on the black one, which claims to be rich, so I decided to go with the white one in favor of the easy-drinking one 🙃. I think I had had a Dobrok a long time ago 🤔 I don't remember. And what should I have as a side dish? All I don't know. When I opened the bottle, it didn't particularly blow me away. It tastes like... A strong sourness that I have never experienced before❗️∑. I thought it would be sweet, but it wasn't, and it was round without being too much on the nose, seriously delicious 😋! (I like sourness). This might be the most impressive since Tasake... The side dishes were pork salt nabe and chutoro (medium fatty tuna) sashimi. I think it goes better with oily food than sashimi.

Business trip to Fujieda. Speaking of Fujieda, Kikusake is the most popular sake in Japan. I wanted to drink Kikusen, so I dropped by a liquor store and found a bottle of Amezure. I bought it. I never thought I would encounter Ame-no-Ashizuki in Shizuoka (and Fujieda)! This liquor store had a great selection of Shibotan and Koshi 😁. The label says "Ohanasake with flower yeast." They use Tsurubara. The rice is pink because it is mixed with ancient rice. 97% is Aizan. As is typical of Yoshikawa Brewing, the acidity is pronounced. The sake has a very high sake level, but the alcohol content is so strong that it doesn't seem too sweet. The snacks are simmered taro and tonkotsu (pork bone) hot pot. The Fuji in the photo was taken a while ago.

I was not looking for this sake, but I found the much talked about Hirotogawa. I thought, "If I don't buy it here, I probably won't see it for a while..." and bought it. It is as good as they say 🧐. I prefer this to Sairai and Kangiku. The acidity and umami are clear. The sake was always a lot of fun 😁. The snack was tonkotsu nabe from Ippudo.

I had a good thing today, so I'm opening the bottle even though it's a weekday 😆. I drank the red label last year and didn't like it much.... But I bought this one because it was cloudy. The overall flavor is similar to the red label, but I like the slight sourness that stands out 😋. I also feel the heat that is typical of sake when it goes down my throat. This one is good 🤔. I paired it with hapoho chai and fried beef hormone and karaage from Matsuno butcher store.

The second bottle for a drink at home with a friend. This is also a souvenir from a colleague. It seems to be distributed only in Nagasaki. It was on the top of the list of products on the Mori Sake Brewery website. It is a "rice-only sake" standard. I did some research, but it seems that in the past, a sake with a rice polishing ratio of less than 70% was called a "normal sake. This is the first time I've tasted Hiran itself. It is suddenly delicious for a normal sake 😋 The alcohol taste comes afterwards, but it is moderate and the sake is easy to drink because it is a draft. It doesn't have any aroma, though. My friend doesn't like Shinshu Kamerei, and says that Hikakami and Hiran are too sweet and not enough for her. I should have let her drink Kikuhime.

ellie, I don't know about izakayas that specialize in local sake from Hokkaido, but Sakuramotoshoten (the main store and Maruyama store), Nemotoshoten (Kokonosukino store), and Yamasho Sake Shop are easily accessible from central Sapporo, so be sure to bring some local sake as a gift ✨.

I am drinking at home with a friend. We have more than a dozen bottles of sake in stock, so I let my friend choose what she wanted to drink. This is a souvenir given to me by a colleague😄. We opened the bottle even though there was still some Akabu and Shinshu Kamerei left. It has a slightly sweet taste and goes down your throat easily. Still, it has a nice sharpness at the end and a moderate alcohol content. Very well balanced 🤔. The snacks were grilled hormone, sashimi, and yose-nabe with crab.

I kept this sake until New Year's Day in order to drink it mindlessly when I was at my most relaxed. I purchased it at the brewery when I visited Ueda in the spring. It is very tasty, more subdued and elegant than Inakura's Tanada. When approaching room temperature, it smells like cotton candy. The photo shows Fuji on New Year's Day and the monument of Nobushige Sanada's helmet at Ueda Castle. For snacks, take out sushi from the long-established Japanese restaurant Uotami. I have mixed feelings about opening it in the middle of the Noto Peninsula earthquake, watching NHK's Yamauchi's moving call to action. Praying for your safety.

Year-end party for the fourth week in a row, the second drink 😓. We drank at Sushi Nakamura in front of Fuji Station. My childhood friend Fujikouji Sake Brewery distributes sake and soy sauce. Tengu Mai was founded in Bunsei 6 (1818). I wonder if the taste is similar to the one from that time 🤔? When you pour it into a glass, it is very yellow and beautiful. It has a strong graininess even though it is a ginjo, which I found to be an unusual flavor. And yet, it is very easy to drink. It also has a certain degree of sharpness. We served it with ponzu (ponzu flavored white cod roe), seared cod roe, and various kinds of sushi.

Year end party for the 4th week in a row... 😓. I went to a sushi restaurant with a childhood friend who runs a liquor store. Sushi Nakamura" in front of Fuji station (not caught in the location info of Sake no Wawa...). We hadn't been there since before the Corona disaster. The sushi restaurant is a wholesaler to this sushi restaurant, and the Tedorigawa is also from Fujikouji Sake Brewery. I drank a lot, so I don't remember the taste! It was very easy to drink, and I can assure you it was delicious 😄. As for the snacks, the salted fish with sea urchin was outstanding. The sashimi at the sushi bar is thick and good.

I recently purchased a large quantity of new sake, these are the standard popular sakes. This time I opened this bottle😋 and drank Akabu for the first time. It has a watery mouthfeel with a refreshing acidity. It is not so sharp, so I thought it was really easy to drink. It is light, so you can drink it even on weekdays. I had it with pork hot pot with tonkotsu (pork bone) soup. Now, let's open a bottle for the New Year's holiday 😁.

This Kihei is a sake brewery in Okayama. There is one of the same name in Shizuoka, and they seem to be closely related. I wanted to drink Shizuoka Heiki, but the one I ordered was from Okayama😓. It was sweet because it was a honjozo and easy to drink because it was a draft 😋. This is the third consecutive week-end party, but today's was at the famous Yasudaya Honten in Shizuoka. It is a buckwheat noodle restaurant that was frequented by Yoshinobu Tokugawa. The Soba Kaiseki was magnificent. Soba was served like sushi, and the bowl of soba was topped with dried bonito! It is said that when Keiki moved to Sunpu, the Edo people moved with him. They were selfish, so they were told to put fish on top, and this menu was created. Of course, Shizuoka's soba, trained by the Edo kids, is delicious 😋.

The third drink. If you are going to have Toyama's food, have Toyama's sake 🧐. Modest sweetness, fruity. Easy to drink and delicious 🤭The label gives it a gentle taste that is hard to imagine.

Second cup. I chose this one 😋, which is often seen at Sake-no-wa. Shuwashu active nigori. Is it sweet? I thought so, but it's a medium 🤔. I asked for eggplant dumplings and got dumplings wrapped in eggplant 😎 Interesting.

I heard that they have a very good selection of Sake, so I went to this restaurant, "Gah", to launch my work 🍶 They serve fish from Toyama even though it is in Shizuoka 😲. I had a hard time deciding which sake to order, but I chose a brand I had never tried before because I thought it was a good time of year to drink sake that was still fresh. It tasted like a fusion of the acidity typical of nama-shu and a somewhat old-fashioned sweetness 😊. The label said something about super concentrated brewing, but I was too drunk to really understand. Delicious. The snacks also go well with sake. It is a good restaurant.

Last year I did not understand the annual cycle of sake. But now that I have learned, I know that now is the time for new sake 🧐 and lots of nigori sake, which I love! So I hit the liquor stores and stocked up. Well, I heard it's Ocean99 since it's in Kujukuri-hama. Liberty in Shimizu has a great selection of Sohno-Kangiku from last year. I didn't really like the electric chrysanthemum, but I was interested in the nigori, which was the only one left, and I got it😊. Taste... This is my favorite♪ I'm impressed that the drinkability is so far through. It's more like a pursuit. It's sweet and sour, like a juice 😊. I've been drinking it since weekday...

All-you-can-drink menu at Sakanaya Dojo, Part 2. There was also Isohajime. It's a honjozo, but it's very tasty 😋. I had no idea that you can drink all you can drink these including Otters. I think it's a very good restaurant and all you can eat, not to mention the food!

Went here for a work launch. All you can eat and drink for 5,000 yen for unlimited time. The food is reasonable, but you can also order sashimi. The all-you-can-drink menu mainly consists of honjozo sake such as Kaiun and Garyubai, but Otters Junmai Ginjo was included in the menu. I hadn't had it in years and it was sweet and gassy and really easy to drink. I was there for about 5 hours....

Opened this bottle as the guard breaker was available 😊. I bought this one a year ago. That time was when I discovered Yokozeki and Mishimaya Sake Shop, and I had been looking at so many different kinds of sake that I had forgotten a ton of them ∑. Taste... Moderately dry, it tastes like water in the mouth at first. The sharpness and umami of sake comes at the same time as it goes down your throat. Easy to pair with meals 😋. Sashimi of tuna and yellowtail as a side dish. I wonder how it will taste when it is heated up!

I stopped by a liquor store and bought it for half price, in the 800 yen range. It was a spring item, so the price was down 😙. I thought it was an unusual brand, so I looked it up and found that it was a 300 year old law-breaker. I've seen this at a different liquor store 👀. Hana no Keiji was available, so I opened a bottle. It's November, like spring. Tastes like... A little thick. Yellowish. What is this grain-like aroma that lingers in the nose? I can't describe it well, but it's quite rich and old-fashioned. The ad says it's fresh, but I think it might be better to call it flavorful 🤔. I forgot to put potatoes in the pot-au-feu and edamame as accompaniments.
