I'm going to work all through GW and tomorrow is my only day off. I want to savor it as much as possible tonight. I bought this sake at Mishimaya Sake Shop in Izu Nagaoka in February, and I regret that I should have bought Aizan as well, since it was also on sale. However, this liquor store had a great selection. Nabeshima and Yamamoto stood out. The taste...this is it! It tastes just like the first time I encountered this sake! The fizz is strong and juicy, but with a nice sweetness and umami. I realized that the reason I felt that Sairai and Denshokiku were lacking was because I was craving this flavor. We had it with pork miso nabe and bonito tataki.

I went to Niimi city, deep inside Bicchu Matsuyama castle. The purpose of the trip was to have an "exorcism". I am not a religious person, but I have had some bad luck in the last 3 years, and I felt mentally down, so I decided to have an exorcism because my best friend is a Shinto priest. It has been more than ten years since we last met. This shrine is Yatsushiro Shrine, which is famous for its Ox worship. The effect of the exorcism is said to be outstanding. The sake he gave me. When you put it in your mouth, it tastes a little bitter on your nose. When you take a sip, you feel a little bit of a pungent sensation on the nose, and then you feel a slight sweetness, followed immediately by spiciness. There is some lingering spiciness. What is characteristic is the taste, I wonder what it is, is it rich? It is not a bad taste. It would be delicious if it were heated, but the season is over! We had it with sauteed shiitake mushrooms and leek balls.

At Izu Nagaoka Onsen. My friend offered me this as well as W. As expected of a former bartender, my friend knows what's trendy. I got on the bandwagon and opened a bottle of this one at the same time as the W. The first sip revealed a distinct banana aroma. After that it was light and not too sweet! The aroma is often compared to fruit, but I've never had it so obvious. The next day, I took my friend to Shinju-in Temple (with a picture of Yae Aragaki Yui, who played Yae), Ganjo-in Temple, and the Nirayama Refractory Furnace, making it a very fulfilling holiday.

A friend of mine from Tokyo was coming to Izu Nagaoka Onsen and we met up at a hotel called Konastay. I brought a bottle of Fuji-Nishiki Daiginjo as a gift to drink with him, and my friend also brought a bottle of W. I've never had this before. I let him take the Fuji-Nishiki home as a souvenir and opened this bottle. The sake we had not had in 4 years after the Corona was opened was delicious. I've been drinking a lot of nama sake lately, fruity and sweet, so I was pleased with the robustness of this sake. Why the Delacroix packaging 🤔?

I happened to find Denshogiku, which had been making a splash at Sake-no-wa. Liberty in Kusanagi, which has a small selection of sake, but sometimes has good sake. They have a good selection of whiskey. The other day I opened a bottle of Sairai, and I was thinking how similar it is. As a beginner, I can't really tell the difference, but I think this one is even lighter 🤔 less sweet? It's delicious, but I'm starting to miss the heavy flavor. I had it with fried tofu, grilled chicken salt and macaroni salad.

Very easy to drink! I'm not a strong drinker by nature, so I guess I like this kind of drink after all. A slight fizzy feeling comes at first. Reminiscent of the taste of Tasake Yamahai that I drank last year? It is lighter and silkier than Tasake. I had it with oden, beef stew, and yaki-sai. This was my first visit to the Kuboyama Sake Shop in Shimizu-Anbara. Never knew there was a place like this on my way to work until now! I was looking for something hot to drink, but they had a very good selection of draft sake, so I bought some on impulse.

Hi Jay & Nobby 😃 Fuji is a picture from my house! I'm a newbie so please don't take too much from my report 😅 this drink is reasonably priced and tasty!

Now, how is the taste change on the second day? The fizz is almost gone... and it is not as sweet as I thought it would be. The alcohol taste has become a little stronger. Yesterday, I thought it might be similar to tazake, but it is not. But it goes well with food.

ellie-san Good evening 😀I also go to Kuboyama Sake Shop when I want to drink Sairai👍. I also bought the Kokoyama I posted this time at Kuboyama Sake Shop👌. I hope we can have an offline meeting in Shizuoka 😊 Let's exchange information 😃.

Good evening, Kazubyon ^ ^ Kuboyama Sake Shop seems to have a lot of users. I appreciate the exchange of information and offline meetings 😆. I'm a sake newbie with very little information as I only open a bottle of sake in a month 😓.

ellie-san Good evening 😀 I often go to Yokozeki Sake Shop when I go for a drive 🚙. My home is in Shizuoka City, and I enjoy comparing sake from all over Japan 🍶. At home, the vegetable room of the refrigerator is my hobby room? It's my hobby room 😀.

Yokozeki is also famous 🤔I usually drink at home, but in Shizuoka I sometimes go to an izakaya called Hana Oto. I sometimes go to an izakaya called Hanane in Shizuoka. It's a place where you can combine Chinese and Japanese sake. I'd like to visit a place where you can compare drinks someday ^ ^.

It's been 3 weeks and I still haven't finished it, how does it taste? ...It tastes sweeter. I wonder if the sweetness is more noticeable because it is originally light. I prefer it when the bottle is opened. Now, I have two bottles of sake in the fridge that I'm looking forward to drinking. Which one shall I drink next?

ellie, good evening 😀 After 3 weeks, the taste changes. Sometimes that's a good thing, but it brings out the sweetness. Standby in the fridge, I'm looking forward to it... 🙂. I bought 2 kinds of Etsukaijin at Yokozeki Shuho today 🍶.

Good evening, Kazupyon! Yokozeki, i will go there when they have tasake in! Etsukaijin was unknown to beginners, but the history of the brewery sounds interesting 😃. to be continued

Continued I stopped by Liberty in Kusanagi today and found that they still had Sono Kangiku Monochrome and Eikofuji Yami Naraku Akimizu ^ ^ I also stop by this liquor store quite a bit. There are not many varieties, but they sometimes have some unexpected ones.

After having a recently opened bottle of Fuji Nishiki with tempura, sea bream sashimi and wasabi-pickled yam, I opened a chocolate gift and found Koshikoi and Fukuju. Then there was also some Kattokotan. I have had Fukuju before, so I will record it as Koshikoi. Surprisingly, it goes well with chocolate. It is not only a Western liquor, is it? If the chocolate melted in your mouth a little more, it would be quite tasty, wouldn't it? But I couldn't quite taste the liquor called Koshikoi!

When I went to greet my relatives in Shuzenji at the end of the year, I decided to buy some local limited edition sake. In Izu, there is a sake brewery called Bandai Brewery, which proclaims itself "Arabashiri," and when I told the owner of the sake shop that I wanted to drink hot sake, he recommended this one. This is a brewery in Fujinomiya. The spiciness that comes through the nose stands out, and the taste is sweet and thick. I had it with a pork nabe with leek miso. The place to buy it is Matsuya Shoten, located in the back of the hot spring resort area. It is snowing heavily over Fuji, but it is a beautiful sunny day in Shizuoka.

Since it is the end of the year, I opened a bottle of my favorite brand. It's hard to get in Shizuoka. Thank you for your help this year. The first taste I have had in a year and a half is...what? Was it like this? It tastes quite rich. I have been drinking a lot of things over the past year, so I guess my palate has become more discerning in a beginner's way. It is quite rich. We had it with pickled nozawana, Watanabe soba noodles, tempura, and salad carrots. Tomorrow I will drink it with French obshi.

Eririn, I see from your blog that you drink Ike😄I am glad to hear that you are a Fuji local. Izu has the only Mandai Brewery, but for some reason they often outsource their regional sake to Fuji Nishiki in other cities.

Not sweet! The package says Junmai Ginjo in small letters. It has a nice aroma, and there is no nose-bleeding sensation. I tend to choose only sweet sake, but this taste is also good. I didn't realize how good cup sake could be. It goes very well with meals. I had it with pork miso soup and dried bonito. Purchased at Sake Rakusha Nishigaya in Shimizu.

This was the first time I drank sparkling sake. It was served with a fried egg with kikurage mushrooms. It seems to go better with yakitori or gyoza than sashimi. I'm afraid I could drink a lot of it because it doesn't have much alcohol taste. It is delicious ^ ^ Purchased at Liberty, a good quality sake specialty store in Shimizu.

I often go to Kyoto, but from there I usually go down to Nara (that's where I met Harushika Super Dry), and I had never heard of Tango. I did a search and found a bunch of sake breweries I've never heard of! Any recommendations?
Japanese>English

I would recommend "Shirakikyu" as a Tango sake. Also, "Tamagawa" is an aged sake with a deep flavor. For something different, the pale pink "Ine Mankai" brewed with red rice might be a good choice.
