Today was a welcome party at work with my colleagues. Yasudaya Honten, a buckwheat noodle restaurant that we used at the end of the year and enjoyed.
We drank a Kihei from Shizuoka 😆.
But somehow, the registration of Sake-no-Wawa brands are all over the place and the most common is only 8 check-ins.... It's delicious though.
Soft taste, elegant sweetness. It has a sharp taste.
ellie-san konban-ha(o´ω`o)no~~!
That's a delicious drink 😳✨
I didn't know that when I went to Shizuoka I only remembered "Yuru Can 🏕" 😅.
I'd love to drink it if it's sold near me: ☺️
Hello Eirin😃
The Yurukan pond is famous ^ ^ ^ it's from Fuji Nishiki Brewery, a male brewery in the eastern part of Japan.
Kihei is an interesting brewery that moved from Shizuoka to Okayama a long time ago, but recently came back to Shizuoka where it originated.
Yesterday I was on a business trip to Yokohama. I found a liquor store called Ichiishiya, looked at the ample showcase, and bought a bottle. I'll save this one for later.
I also opened a bottle of this one because I needed to consume the sake hibernating in the fridge as soon as possible.
This three-day weekend was a complete day off.
I'm cleaning the house, changing clothes and organizing the bedding. I also have to do some work, but I have time to drink.
First time at Eiko-Fuji. It's the one that was all over the sake crocodile.
It's been a long time since I've had a slightly sparkling, sweet and sour one 😁I really like this kind of beer. I'm glad I bought a lot of bottles.
Before I knew it, I had checked in 8 different types of Yamagata sake 😲.
The snacks were fried taro, bonito tataki, and beef hormone yakitori.
Souvenir of Hokkaido (2)
Since I have been unexpectedly put to work since the beginning of the fiscal year, and since I had to work from home this past Saturday and Sunday, I couldn't do it and opened the bottle.
I usually drink only one glass, but this is my second glass.
This sake was also purchased at Nemoto Sake Shop. It is sweet, sweet! The acidity is secretly effective, and there's also a cackling heat. Delicious 😋.
We got a lot of bamboo shoots, so since yesterday, we've been eating all sorts of things: fried bamboo shoots with sesame oil, bamboo shoots on rice, bamboo shoots and green pepper with miso....
The photo is of a standing drink at Nemoto Sake Shop and the outside market 😁.
Good evening Eirin 😃.
In Hokkaido, I had so much gastronomy that these 3 bowls of rice were hazy lol.
It's hard to find fresh sake from Hokkaido here and I'm impressed as I drink it!
Good evening Masaaki 🌆.
It was fun since it was half of my trip...
You can eat toro in Shizuoka, but you can only taste sea urchin and salmon roe like this in Hokkaido: ❗️
Open a bottle of Hokkaido souvenirs: ❗️
In Hokkaido, breakfast at the hotel was one of my goals, and I was excited to stay at the Sapporo Grand Hotel. I was surprised to see 8 kinds of honey on the line. Omelettes, bread, and even mere milk is delicious 😋.
Now, I found Yui Yui at the liquor store that Masaaki told me about. Knowing what was going on at Yuki Brewery, I bought it immediately.
A little dry, strong attack, yet fruity 😋.
Delicious!
Can you tell where the picture is?
I wish I could go back to Hokkaido!
Good evening, ellie! It seems you are back safe and sound 🗻✈️Nemoto Shoten Kokonosukino, I hope you found some good sake ✨I hope the breweries that suffered from the disaster can be restored 🍶The pictures are just as Takku0103 says 😁.
Hi ellie 😃
Great that you dare to connect Ibaraki and Hokkaido and buy Yui 👍.
Hokkaido, I haven't been there since maybe 20 years ago 🥲I'd love to make an expedition 🥹.
Hi Takku1030😃
You are right ❗️ I didn't recognize the entrance to Rokkatei because it was too narrow. I was definitely planning to go to Hokudai. It was interesting to see how it was mixed with laboratories ^ ^.
Hi Masaaki😃
The last day was delayed by a spring storm, but I made it back safely ^^ I also had a standing drink at Nemoto liquor store ❗️ It's a good liquor store! Thanks to you, it was a good trip. Thank you very much ❗️
Hi Jay & Nobby😃
I have been wanting to drink Yui Yui for sometime. The lid of the sake bottle had the crest of Sanzen Sakura and the label also had two sake breweries on it 🧐.
You can't go wrong with a Hokkaido trip 😄 I'd love to go back!
Second day in Hokkaido.
Today is work 😓.
We had Genghis Khan at night 😋It's not easy to eat in Shizuoka. No smell and even the oil is delicious! Lamb chops were especially good.
For the closing parfait, we went to a restaurant called miL on Raccoon Shoji 🍨 We chose a passion fruit flavor called mimosa. Too beautiful to eat (°_°)
They had a dry sake that went well with the meat. It was dry, but I didn't mind it so much, and the taste was well-balanced.
Good evening ellie 🍶.
A finishing parfait is another weight gain menu that is hard to compare with a finishing ramen 😂.
Is such a thing popular in Sapporo now 🤭?
Good evening, Matsuchiyo ^ ^
Yesterday I had ramen to finish, and today I had parfait to finish...(^^;;;)
I heard that the closing parfait is a culture of Hokkaido! There are several stores. This parfait cost 1,800 yen and was very elaborate!
Hello ellie 🐦.
I see you were here on business! Good job 😊I've seen the night parfait on TV, but you really eat it at the end 😳 very delicious ♡I'm jealous of this culture 😆.
Hi Pon-chan ^ ^
I heard that there are some closing parfait stores in Tokyo and other places these days.
I was more interested in sake than parfait, so I am wondering which sake to buy on the way home 😁.
I came to Hokkaido!
Work starts tomorrow, so I spent all afternoon drinking and eating.
Nemuro Hanamaru -> Yotsuba parfait -> standing drink at Nemoto Sake Shop
Now I'm going to go to ramen again 💦.
The sushi is good! It was 3000 yen for this good quality stuff. Hokkaido is amazing👍!
The Kita no Katsu was a regular aluzoe, but I liked it because it was easy to drink ^ ^ It has a sharp taste and goes down your throat smoothly without getting stuck in your nose.
Now, what should I do with my souvenir sake?
Good evening, Mr. Takku0103 ^ ^
This sake brewery is located at the easternmost tip of Japan!
You can't find this sake in Shizuoka.
It was very easy to drink and delicious!
Good morning, ellie 😃.
It's great to be able to enjoy eating and drinking in Hokkaido 🤗Work in moderation 😅Please enjoy 👋
Fuji🗻 from the sky is beautiful too🥹.
Good evening Masaaki ^ ^
Natsume is close by, but my colleague wants to go to Genghis Khan today 🍖 after that we will go to the closing parfait. I eat too much........
Good evening Jay & Nobby ^ ^
This is a rare Fuji that is hard to capture 😄.
I really wanted to enjoy more sake, but I ate too much and had to curb my sake consumption!
Good evening, ellie! If Natsume is close by, Jingisukan is either Yozora or Daruma 😁? I recommend Nanakamado or Sato for the closing parfait, but you might have to wait in line even on weekdays 😅Good night in Sapporo 👍.
Good evening superbebe ^ ^
I am not good at air travel due to my fear of heights, so this is a shot of my colleague ^^;.
Well, I ate too much.... I am anxious about my physical examination next week😣.
Good evening Eirin-san ^ ^.
Fuji is beautiful this time of year with its snow-capped mountains 🤩.
Even though I'm half working, I'm happy to eat anything in Hokkaido 😋 Sake is good too! Both alsobe and dry were easy to drink!
Good evening Masaaki ^ ^
I went to MASAJIN for Genghis Khan and miL for the closing parfait. I made a reservation and everything was fine 🆗. I made a reservation and all was well 🆗. ❗️ The parfait culture in Hokkaido is really amazing~!
It was a party for the end of the fiscal year 😁.
All-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink yakitori at Tori Kikin for 3,600 yen. The yakitori was quite big and tasty 🫢.
This is a chain restaurant, but the all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink is a great deal ❗️
There was only sake available in cups, but I had a cold glass of Shochiku Ume. It was dry, but easy to drink for a bold sake 😋I'm sure there are other sake that go better with yakitori, but for this price, it should be enough.
This brewery is famous for its Setoichi. Since it is not far away, I was planning to visit this brewery eventually, but it happened to be on sale at a discount price at a mass retailer😲 Lucky me.
The brewery is open in September.
It is brewed with sake brewer's alcohol, which I am not sure what it is 🤨It seems to be a term coined by this brewery that uniquely manipulates kijozo-shu. Sake degree -29😲.
When you drink it, the sweetness hits you hard. It is thick. Slightly yellow. As advertised, then softly grape-like aroma, the sharpness is slight, and the chest is hot with a kick.
The website says it goes well with cheese.
The accompaniments were tempura and soba noodles.
I had some business in Gotemba, so I stopped by Iwase Sake for the first time 🚗I knew they had Koei Kiku, which is very rare in Shizuoka 🧐.
When I came face to face with the showcase, it was amazing! One case was filled with Koei Kiku 😲 I should have taken a picture!
There are even those labeled BY the year before last. After much deliberation, I chose two of the ones that claimed to be sour.
The store also had Kitajima, Morishima, and Yuzumi. I will definitely buy some next time.
I left the Echino Kanbai behind and opened one of the bottles.
It tastes like orange 😋 At first the candy-like sweetness turns to orange for a moment, then a refreshing sourness. This is not sake 💦.
I've experienced many different acids and I think this is the most refreshing? It's delicious 😋.
The side dish is grilled beef hormone from Matsuno butcher store. I've been addicted to it lately.
Good morning, ellie!
I have been a customer of Iwase-san when I lived close by. I have also been ordering Koei Chrysanthemum since the time of Kikutaka, and I am still ordering from them.
I hope you will continue to patronize me 😊.
Hi ellie 😃
First time for you, Mr. Kouei Chrysanthemum! Congratulations 🎉Twilight Orange 🍊 is delicious 😋 we love it too and it's one we want to drink every year 🤗.
Hi Jay & Novi😃
Koei Chrysanthemum seems to sell sourness, and it was a dostrike favorite ❗️ delicious.
We were lucky that they barely had any in stock: ❗️
It was given to me at a Buddhist memorial service.
For some reason, I have known the brand name "Koshino-Kanme" since I was a child🧐.
I often see it in supermarkets these days.
First time drinking😋.
It tasted...kind of like water 😲 I imagined it to be a bit heavier, so I was surprised.
No acidity, light flavor and graininess.
It tastes like a much thinner version of the Tetorigawa Sake Spirit I had the other day, but the spiciness comes much later.
It is easy to drink, but I would prefer it to be a little thicker.
I see that "灑" is pronounced "sai," meaning "to wash away. It means "to wash away.
The side dish is seared spicy cod roe.
The spiciness of the cod roe could not be washed away and the sake was defeated by the spiciness. I failed to choose the right accompaniment 😔.
It was lying on its side in the fridge 😭 it was leaking a bit and I opened the bottle in a hurry the day before yesterday💦.
Thanks to you, there was no strong foaming when I opened the bottle and it was easy. Still much more foamy 🫧.
The nigori is much darker and the rice shape is still there. The taste is dry. Slightly acidic, with a sense of sake that follows. The aftertaste is crisp.
Easy to drink 😋.
The photo is of the University of Tokyo, where I went on a business trip today because I couldn't see Mt. There is an antenna store next to the red gate and I found Todai's sake... 🤦.
I once drove from Shizuoka to Koyasan (Mt. Koya) and on the way back, I stopped by Kamotonami Shrine (see photo). I was a little impressed to see that the Aburacho brewery was located near here. I looked up the topography further and found that there is a "Wind Forest Pass" (p.o.v.) I thought it was a modern name, but it is an ancient road. I wanted to go there.
Well, I have never drunk Kaze no Mori, so I decided to buy it even though it is a little expensive if it is going to be donated to a charity.
It is said to be stored in ice temperature, but it has been half a year since it was released from the warehouse, so I wonder if the taste has changed. I'm not sure 🤔.
It has an alcoholic taste and the sourness is a good match 😁I see, this is the Kaze no Mori 😁.
I had a pot of Kaldi's soup curry and pepper bacon as a side dish, but I wonder if they didn't go well together? 🤔
Good evening, ellie!
Congratulations on your debut🍃 in the Wind Forest.
Congratulations!
I didn't know there was such a place name!
I didn't know that😮.
I originally thought the name was very Ghibli-like 🤣🤣🤣
Good evening superbebe 😁.
Congratulations on your rainfall debut: ㊗️
I also had an image of this place as being like Totoro (lol), but when I looked it up on the internet, I found it to be a wonderful place with good scenery and history: ❗️
ellie-san konban-ha (o´ omega`o)no~~
Congrats on your Kaze no Mori debut: ㊗️🎉
I haven't been drinking Kaze no Mori in general thinking I can buy it near me 😅.
So it's already 🌸 in Shizuoka ✧*.
I wish I could go 🌸🌸🌸
Good evening Erin 😁.
Drinking Wind Forest is a celebration 😅.
The 🌸 is an early blooming Izu Kawazu cherry blossom!
In addition to Isobojiman, Shizuoka has many other beautiful sakes such as Kaiun, Hatsukame, Eikun, Kikusen... 🍶.
Please come visit us👍
I thought it was Tenju Shuzo because it was called Chokaisan, but it wasn't, it seems to be a brewery specializing in dobrokusan. I noticed this after I bought it😅.
There were black and white, but I couldn't get my hands on the black one, which claims to be rich, so I decided to go with the white one in favor of the easy-drinking one 🙃.
I think I had had a Dobrok a long time ago 🤔 I don't remember. And what should I have as a side dish? All I don't know. When I opened the bottle, it didn't particularly blow me away.
It tastes like...
A strong sourness that I have never experienced before❗️∑.
I thought it would be sweet, but it wasn't, and it was round without being too much on the nose, seriously delicious 😋! (I like sourness). This might be the most impressive since Tasake...
The side dishes were pork salt nabe and chutoro (medium fatty tuna) sashimi.
I think it goes better with oily food than sashimi.
Business trip to Fujieda. Speaking of Fujieda, Kikusake is the most popular sake in Japan. I wanted to drink Kikusen, so I dropped by a liquor store and found a bottle of Amezure.
I bought it.
I never thought I would encounter Ame-no-Ashizuki in Shizuoka (and Fujieda)! This liquor store had a great selection of Shibotan and Koshi 😁.
The label says "Ohanasake with flower yeast." They use Tsurubara. The rice is pink because it is mixed with ancient rice. 97% is Aizan.
As is typical of Yoshikawa Brewing, the acidity is pronounced. The sake has a very high sake level, but the alcohol content is so strong that it doesn't seem too sweet.
The snacks are simmered taro and tonkotsu (pork bone) hot pot.
The Fuji in the photo was taken a while ago.
I was not looking for this sake, but I found the much talked about Hirotogawa.
I thought, "If I don't buy it here, I probably won't see it for a while..." and bought it.
It is as good as they say 🧐.
I prefer this to Sairai and Kangiku. The acidity and umami are clear.
The sake was always a lot of fun 😁.
The snack was tonkotsu nabe from Ippudo.
I had a good thing today, so I'm opening the bottle even though it's a weekday 😆.
I drank the red label last year and didn't like it much.... But I bought this one because it was cloudy.
The overall flavor is similar to the red label, but I like the slight sourness that stands out 😋.
I also feel the heat that is typical of sake when it goes down my throat.
This one is good 🤔.
I paired it with hapoho chai and fried beef hormone and karaage from Matsuno butcher store.
Good evening ellie 😃.
It's good to have a reason to drink 😆.
At home, I'm probably more likely to be desperate to find a reason to drink 🤣 Happosai and hormone! Sounds like it would be good for Ayrai 😋.
Good evening Jay & Novi 😁.
Well, I drink when I have a bad day, so I drink either way lol.
This sake went really well with the hormones 🐃I like the dark flavored snacks!
The second bottle for a drink at home with a friend.
This is also a souvenir from a colleague.
It seems to be distributed only in Nagasaki. It was on the top of the product list on the Mori Sake Brewery website😲.
I thought it was junmai-shu, but apparently it falls under the standard of "rice-only sake" and is classified as a regular sake 🧐.
This is my first time drinking Hiran itself.
It's suddenly very tasty for a normal sake 😋 The alcohol taste comes afterwards, but it's moderate, and it's easy to drink because it's a draft sake.
It has no aroma, though.
My friend doesn't like Shinshu Kamerei, and says that Hikakami and Hiran are too sweet and not enough for her.
I should have let her drink Kikuhime.
Good evening Masaaki 😁.
I read your post. I noticed Ori at the end too 🧐 correct the tag lol.
The snow is beautiful there too!
I may go on a business trip to Sapporo in March. I will enjoy the local sake of Hokkaido 😋.
ellie, I don't know about izakayas that specialize in local sake from Hokkaido, but Sakuramotoshoten (the main store and Maruyama store), Nemotoshoten (Kokonosukino store), and Yamasho Sake Shop are easily accessible from central Sapporo, so be sure to bring some local sake as a gift ✨.
Thank you Masaaki for the super useful information😊This is not only local sake, but many brands that you don't find in Shizuoka...(O_O)
I am looking forward to it!
I am drinking at home with a friend.
We have more than a dozen bottles of sake in stock, so I let my friend choose what she wanted to drink.
This is a souvenir given to me by a colleague😄.
We opened the bottle even though there was still some Akabu and Shinshu Kamerei left.
It has a slightly sweet taste and goes down your throat easily. Still, it has a nice sharpness at the end and a moderate alcohol content. Very well balanced 🤔.
The snacks were grilled hormone, sashimi, and yose-nabe with crab.
I kept this sake until New Year's Day in order to drink it mindlessly when I was at my most relaxed.
I purchased it at the brewery when I visited Ueda in the spring.
It is very tasty, more subdued and elegant than Inakura's Tanada. When approaching room temperature, it smells like cotton candy.
The photo shows Fuji on New Year's Day and the monument of Nobushige Sanada's helmet at Ueda Castle. For snacks, take out sushi from the long-established Japanese restaurant Uotami.
I have mixed feelings about opening it in the middle of the Noto Peninsula earthquake, watching NHK's Yamauchi's moving call to action. Praying for your safety.
Happy New Year 🌅🌅and I look forward to working with you in the new year 🤗.
It's great to start the year with a special Shinshu Kamerei 😋 and thank you for the picture of Mt. Fuji on New Year's Day 😌 I wished you a safe and happy new year!
Happy New Year to you, Jay & Novi ㊗️ and I look forward to working with you this year 🤲.
After the rain the day before, New Year's Day turned out to be a big snowfall for Fuji 🗻.
I just had some sake from Ishikawa the other day and I am worried about the sake brewery too.
Happy New Year, ellie 🎍It's always nice to have a view of Mt. Fuji ✨Though it's been a tough start to the year for many reasons, I wish you a happy new year👍
Happy New Year Masaki Sapporo 🌅!
I always enjoy reading the information about the sake which is not available here! I look forward to working with you again this year 🤲.
