Second cup. I went to Kyoto the other day and stopped by the brewery to purchase this. Since it was a special occasion with my childhood friend, I opened this one boldly 🍾. It stands up dry but with soft acidity. I served it with Akao no Suguki, a Kyoto souvenir, and Odawara no Neri-mono (fish paste) as a side dish. However, I always think that this sake called Nichinichi would go well with delicate dishes. The photo shows Amanohashidate.

Hi ellie 😃 I didn't know that Nichinichi comes out of Shinshu Kamerei! It won't be long before your childhood friend, whom you haven't seen in a while, gets into the sake 🍶 swamp too 🤗.

Hi Jay & Novi ^ ^ My friend drank both Kamerei and Nichinichi for the first time and was very impressed 😁. I also gave her Genmai and Amezure, so it seems she's pretty much hooked on Sake lol.

Today I got a call out of the blue from a childhood friend and we decided to have a drink at home. It's been about 10 years since we've seen each other. I was going to abstain from drinking this week, but I had no choice 😋. I opened a bottle of this one to give her something unusual to drink. It is sweet with a hint of cotton candy and a unique sourness. The lightness of the sake when you finish it off is as one would expect from Kamerei. My childhood friend, who is not familiar with Japanese sake, liked it very much and drank many glasses. The photo shows Nobutsuna Temple, where we stopped by on the way back from Okazaki Sake Brewery. Nobutsuna Sanada and Masateru Sanada, who were killed in the Battle of Nagashino, are buried there. It is located just north of Miyajima Sake Shop.

Good morning, ellie! A reunion with a childhood friend for the first time in 10 years ✨ It's wonderful to meet and share a cup of sake like this, no matter how many years have passed 😊. Turtle is definitely the sake for such a day 😋.

The last day of our history trip. Today we went to the boathouse in Ine. The boathouses are of course nice, but the sea is clear and beautiful. The sea is clear and beautiful. From the townscape to the topography. In the evening, I went to Kyoto and visited Kamikoya, which was recommended by an acquaintance. It is a rare izakaya (Japanese style bar) where all the food is made in Tango. Reservations were made one after another. All the sake was also from Tango. And I was surprised to see so many sake on tap. This restaurant is a must for sake lovers 😋.

Today, we completed the East Pagoda, West Pagoda, and Yokogawa of Enryakuji Temple on Hieizan and headed for Amanohashidate. Tomorrow we will go to Ine, so we looked for a place to stay around here. This ryokan is so nice 😓 You can see the Miyazu peninsula from the room and from the restaurant. And it was a weekday after the Bon Festival, so I was the only guest. I had French cuisine, which was too good for an old man on a history trip. It was incredibly delicious 😭I was unsure about the pairing with wine, but in the end I decided to go with sake. I thought it would be good as a food sake, so I had a glass of Ginshari, which was just like it. It has a mild acidity that is not too strong. It goes well with sake.

The second cup was Kirakucho. It literally tasted like it was supposed to, but it was sweet and refreshing. The photo shows the shiso-flavored shaved ice🍧 offered at check-in at the hotel lecture hall where we stayed, and the marker post of the Russian Crown Prince in distress near the hotel. The Otsu Incident 🫢. Today we visited Shiga-in Monzeki - Ritsuin - Seigenji - Hiyoshi Toshogu - Saikyoin - Morianji Temple in Sakamoto, and then extended our visit to Ishiyama-ji Temple because we had some extra time. Sakamoto is famous for the Shonaga revolt. Sakamoto was a strategic point of transportation, and by the medieval period, horse borrowing was still practiced in the area. Unlike Koyasan, the town overhangs the lower boundary because of the advantage there 🤔. In addition, stone walls of Anata-shu are everywhere, including Seian-ji Temple. And Shiga-in Temple is worth seeing because it is associated with Tenkai 🧐. I omitted Mitsui Temple and Hiyoshi Taisha because I visited them long time ago.

When I tried to go out for dinner, all the restaurants I wanted were closed 😔. It was a Sunday and the Bon Festival was coming up, so it was inevitable. It was a Sunday and the Bon Festival was coming up, so I guess it was inevitable. They had a lot of sake and the food was served quickly! We had pike conger eel tempura, fried yuba, etc., and finished with grilled mackerel sushi. This was my first time drinking Furoizumi, and it was as classic as the rumors say. It has a full-bodied, thick, sweetness that shakes off any acidity or bitterness.

I am here in Otsu. Stay overnight today and go to Eizan tomorrow. We stayed at Otsujuku on the old Tokaido Highway. There is a group of hotels called "Ko," which are old houses that have been renovated. I found it by chance and it's really nice🙆. It is beautiful and you can have a drink in the lounge. I had never heard of it before, but it seems to be produced by "Jiyujin". I thought this was just a magazine, but they are also involved in town development consulting. There was a rare brand of sake. It has a somewhat classic flavor. It has a thick acidity and a sense of heaviness.

It was full, so I revisited around 8:30 and was able to sit down. Why is it so crowded on a weekday? I wanted to come here no matter what because an acquaintance strongly recommended it. It's inexpensive for a tempura restaurant 😊They have a wide variety of tempura and a variety of other dishes. They also have Sawaya Matsumoto, which may be a reference to the name of the restaurant, "Sake-ba-rii". The food was of course delicious: 5 kinds of omakase, including mullet, broccoli, ainame, etc. We didn't want to drink too much, so we went to Japan. I didn't want to drink too much sake, so I had ume (plum) wine instead of sake. It was very easy to drink because of the apples in it and went surprisingly well with the meal. Nagano is nice.

I am here in Matsudai. I've been hooked on Nagano since the Nagano Longitudinal Expressway was built, and I can't tell you how many times I've been on a hot springs or historical trip. This time, I tried to visit Matsudai but I couldn't see enough of the city in one night. In the evening, I tried to find a restaurant that served good sake, but for some reason they were all full. The restaurant we ended up at was a good choice. The snacks are delicious. You can tell they are very particular about their food. They have everything from Japanese sake to Western sake. There was a "Iraka" sake, so I tried it for the first time. It is sweet and sour, but has a light sweetness and refreshing acidity. I can see why it is popular.

Good evening Ane 😁. We were guided to the upstairs bar because the first floor was full. I was impressed by the nectarine "tofu paste" 🥹 The picture is natto omelette and leaf wasabi. They also have good taste in sake. Nagano, history, food, and sake, is a good town.

This stock was purchased in the spring. This Genmai has been buried in the store and it has been a year and a half since it was manufactured. The last time I drank it, it seemed dry, probably because it was still new, but this one has turned into something else 🤨. Above all, it is mellow and sweet. It is rich and mellow. I didn't know it could change so much when unfiltered raw is put down. I can't feel the so called "aged aroma", but I am surprised. But it is still delicious 😋.

This is a different version of Amezure, a souvenir from my recent visit to Daisen. I haven't had a chance to drink the tazake yet, so we take turns drinking it, but I can't really tell the difference 😓 It's a bit more classical for Amezure, but it's totally easy to drink. It really is a little bit classical. It also has a weak aroma, which is unique to Amezure. I think the more sweet and sour the brand is, the more fragrant it is 🤔. The photo is spring water from the Aburi Shrine underground passage. This is how Amefall is brewed.

This is a rice wine that has been sitting around for almost 2 years 😋. Yamahai, which is only seen occasionally. However, what is it? The aroma characteristic of tasake is restrained, there is little bitterness, and it is quite light. This is of course very tasty, but 🤔 it has a delicate sensation. It is the opposite of mellow. I think it tastes different from what I drank before... Or maybe my tongue got used to the taste of rice wine... Is it because I left it for 2 years? Was the storage temperature too high? (10 degrees Celsius)

It was a business trip to Shizuoka City. A small izakaya called Kikudokoro. They have a rare selection of sake and most importantly, the food is delicious😋. They had Shinshu Kamerei, so I had to try it. It is fire-aged, so it lacks richness, but it has just the right amount of schwarziness and refreshing sweetness and acidity. It goes down well.

The sixth cup of rainfall 🫩 This is the famous peach-colored hazy sake. It is 8 degrees and low in alcohol, but this is the last one. I'm too tired from my pilgrimage to Mt. Daisen and drink too much. It is sweeter than I expected. ‼️ The photo is the Chigasaki City Museum, where we stopped on the way home. It is an ideal museum, free and specialized for the local community. It is small, but the exhibits are a fusion of the humanities and sciences. It follows the theory of museology. The long passageway leading to the entrance is flanked on the south by a group of historical sites centering on Jomi-ji Temple, perhaps with this in mind. The temple also houses the gravesite of Tadasama Ooka. This kind of place gives a sense of unity of the region, and this museum is very well done 😁.
