The first Toyoshu in a long time is a pure rice sake brewed with the Yamanokami yeast derived from sasayuri (a kind of lily of the valley) that blooms in the sacred grounds of the Ogami Shrine, a sacred place for sake. If you are a sake drinker in Nara, you must try this 😁. Perhaps it was because I was used to light and fruity junmai sake, but it was alcoholic, not too sweet, and had a firm mouthfeel. But it has a modern feel and is easy to drink. Yamano kami yeast was surprisingly not peculiar 🤔. Thank you for the food 🙏. I think I'll go visit Ookami shrine ⛩ again.

Rich, soft, and robust. 😋 The second glass is lukewarm or hot ❗ The rice flavor is nice 😋 A little nostalgic, I️ surprisingly like the taste of Junmai sake🎶. Tonight I paired it with shabu shabu and it was a good match for the meat👍. I recommend drinking it warmed up with strong flavored food and cheese😄.

Here are some more sakes from the "SENDAI Sake Fest!" hosted by Sake no Kawashima on May 25th 🍶. Continued too much ☝️ Next up was another sake from the Shinkame Brewery (probably a first for me). I've never had a chance to try their famous sake... The names of sake breweries often have "crane" and "turtle" in them... I guess they have been closely related to Hare (a festival), good luck, prayer, and faith since the olden days. After such a long time, I had a cup of sake. I can hardly remember what it tasted like when I got here... 🌚. My apologies 🙏. I hope I will have another chance to taste and drink it this time...

Found it at a local store I sometimes go to 👀. I had no prior knowledge of the brand, but was attracted by the sexy label and the owner's comment that it was "sweet and delicious" 😁. It is indeed sweet. But not sticky, clean and elegant sweetness 😋. By the third day, the sweetness was reduced and the taste was balanced 😆 Uma~! 2020/11/06 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A subdued but green apple-like aroma. The mouthfeel is refreshing and smooth. It is followed by a rich sweetness and flavor. Spiciness and acidity are rather subdued. It finishes off nicely with a slight bitterness. It was easier to drink than the ginjo I received before.

Tonight, I'm posting my second bottle, this one I've been letting go for about 2 years to contrast with the first (Miyazumi Junmai Nigori Nama) 🍶. Actually, I bought it at the same time as the previous Junmai, but when I drank the Junmai, I took it for granted that this was a sake that should be aged for a long time 😪💤 and it has been in the bottle for a long time until now 😌. The aroma is grain-like, or Western liquor-like, or mature aroma, and the smell alone is enough to make you feel drunk. 😵‍💫 I think it's better to drink it at room temperature or warmed than chilled because the initial smell will disappear. Maybe I'll give it a try after tomorrow. It's good to enjoy long-aged sake sometimes. ☺️
