Found it at a local store I sometimes go to 👀. I had no prior knowledge of the brand, but was attracted by the sexy label and the owner's comment that it was "sweet and delicious" 😁. It is indeed sweet. But not sticky, clean and elegant sweetness 😋. By the third day, the sweetness was reduced and the taste was balanced 😆 Uma~! The first Toyoshu in a long time is a pure rice sake brewed with the Yamanokami yeast derived from sasayuri (a kind of lily of the valley) that blooms in the sacred grounds of the Ogami Shrine, a sacred place for sake. If you are a sake drinker in Nara, you must try this 😁. Perhaps it was because I was used to light and fruity junmai sake, but it was alcoholic, not too sweet, and had a firm mouthfeel. But it has a modern feel and is easy to drink. Yamano kami yeast was surprisingly not peculiar 🤔. Thank you for the food 🙏. I think I'll go visit Ookami shrine ⛩ again.

This is Asahi Kiku Arahashiri, a Fukuoka souvenir 🍶. It's in a nice looking bottle, but it seems that during the new sake season, Fukuoka's sake is often served in these stoppered bottles. I thought it was nice because it can be corked tightly so it is easy to reuse. The initial aroma is slightly sweet, like cooked rice. In the mouth, it has a mild sweet flavor with a slight astringency. It finishes with a slight bitterness. The astringency was a bit strong, but the sake was delicious with a calm and full flavor typical of Asahi Kiku ✨.
