We have changed our nickname "Kikushika of Wind Island" to "Evening Drinks Conservation Committee". Thank you for your continued support. Tonight, our first series, Kikuyu by Yoshikawa Brewery from Isehara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is 100% Dewa Sanzu, Junmai Nama-no-Hajime made with Kyoukai No. 6 yeast. It has a ginjo aroma between cucumber and pear, and the first sip is clear with a full sweetness, but later on, a strong bitterness and alcohol taste follows, making it dry and smooth.

Tonight, we decided to open a new sake once in a while, so we had this one from the Yoshikawa Sake Brewery in Kanagawa Prefecture. Junmai Nigori Sake - Luxurious Aragoshi ✨✨✨✨. The sake seems to have been bottled after the new sake unrefined sake has been roughly fermented 😄. The aroma has a hint of pear and apple. This is the sixth brewery in the Saku Sake Brewery series. Located in a historic town along the old Nakasendo road, this is a place I would like to visit again. The taste is very strong as it is called "mellow" sake. It is 18% alcohol by volume. It has a bitter taste on the tip of the tongue, followed by a sweet sake-like flavor. I heard that there is a way to enjoy it by aging it after buying it. Next time I'll let it mature a bit and try it with mizutaki in winter 😋.

National Sake Fair 2025 part74 Nagano (1) I lost everyone when I came back from the restroom, so I acted alone until the end. From here on, I'm going to drink only the brands I'm interested in with pinpoint accuracy. Takeju Honke Sake Brewery in Saku City I've been curious about this sake brewery for a while. They also produce a sake called "doburoku" which is written as "126" and I've never seen it before💦. I've seen Gyoenchiku at Yodobashi before, but it was an expensive one. Polishing ratio 70%, Miyamanishiki 18%, Sake degree -9, Acidity 2.0 1,700 yen (price at the venue) Aged at room temperature for more than half a year. It is matured, but it is delicious with a strong umami flavor. The label says it will be better if it is left at room temperature for a few more months, but I think this is about right for me. It seems to have won a gold medal at the Wineglass Delicious Sake Awards 2022!

Last night was a get-together. We brought our own sake, assuming it wouldn't be too much since it was an all-you-can-drink course at an izakaya chain restaurant. (I got the restaurant's approval!) I bought my first bottle of Vice Shogun. The aroma is fresh and fruity. The mouthfeel is salty-sweet with a hint of sourness. The ginjo aroma becomes a pleasant aftertaste, and is finished off with a mild sourness and bitterness. I thought it was based on a light dry base, but I could feel Aizan's character, and it was very tasty. The fact that everyone who drank it gave it high marks probably indicates that they were paying attention to me. I also like the cost performance of Aizan's Junmai Daiginjo, which is under 2,000 yen! As the summer is drawing to a close (the heat is still on), I opened a bottle of "Katsuragawa" sake on the rocks, which I was looking forward to drinking again this year! Next up was the Ittiki Senzan Comet Nama-no-Hara Sake. The only sake from Gifu that I know of is Ikki Senzan, so I thought I'd give it a try. It was a brand that had just been opened. Drinking with my wife on our wedding anniversary last week, when we visited Tsushima Tsuru at the Metropolitan Morioka New Wing (laughs). Next up was a Hiyoroshi (Hiyori) Junmai Harazake by Drunken Sen. It's a refreshingly dry sake. The description says to enjoy the mellow flavor, but that's just my personal opinion... I tried three types of draft sake at a tasting and sale of Drunken Sen in Hankyu. I couldn't find a picture of the first one I drank, the Honjozo Nama, even though I searched for it. Tasted and purchased at Umeda Hankyu. Sake from the Drunken Sake Brewery. It seems to be a terroir-like sake. It is delicious with a little bit of gasiness and both fruity and rice flavor. Once the gas disappears, the fruity taste disappears and the umami flavor takes center stage. I don't feel much spiciness. I wasn't sure whether to register it as Tagata, but the cap was Drunken Sen, so I registered it as Drunken Sen.
