Four days have passed since the Aoba Festival. The fever of the festival has not yet cooled down in my heart. I still want to sing even though I sang so many songs. I don't often tell people this, but it makes me realize how much I really like woodblock songs. Still basking in the afterglow, I sipped a glass of Ryusuisen. I think this is the first brand of Ichinoya itself. According to the owner of the sake shop, it is one that was brewed with a special attention to water. The taste is smooth and smooth, and the flavor is gradually delicious. Ahhh, it's so good! The finish is also refreshing, so I can't stop drinking it one after another. I found a nice short video of our wood-dispatching group, and I'll post the link if you're interested. I'm also in it. https://youtu.be/OrWQRig1Ej4?si=9-rEQ98LcHj5L1uD Don't abuse me, I'm not allowed to use the word "sake". 〜Festivals are not only about the fun and excitement... Thanks for the food!

Colonel Lal, good to see you here 😊. Thank you for your hard work at the Aoba Festival. I was enjoying the woodblock singing. I couldn't tell which one was the Colonel.... You all sounded great!

Good evening, Mr. Sashu 😁. I snapped this photo with the ladies of the Morinomiyako Goodwill Ambassadors in between the parade 😋. I got Ryusuisen at a local sake shop in Tomiya. How about stopping by on your way home from Costco? 🤘

The sake I drank last year was so good that I made it a regular annual drink. We will have it again this year in conjunction with the Aoba Festival. It has a fruity heady aroma, a slight astringent taste from a wave attack of sweetness and umami. Everything is in perfect balance. The sweetness is less than last year. Yesterday and today in the fresh green city of Sendai, the Aoba Festival was held. Yesterday it rained unfortunately, but it cleared up by Yoiyama Hoko in the evening. It is going to be hot today, but we are going to make a wooden spear again this year! I'm going to roar! It's been a while since I've said this, but I'm going to say it without permission. 〜Even if it's raining, I'll clear it up with my spirit! ~ (in Japanese) Thank you for the food and drink!

The final BBQ is Eiko-Fuji. The must-have sweet and savory taste soaks into your tired body. The third one is grilled bonito on straw! We used the straw we got at the end of the year and grilled it with gusto! The price of bonito soared so high this year that it cost us a little more than we could have afforded. Of course, it goes great with sake. I'm not physically up to hosting a BBQ at my house next time, so please invite someone to join us. Thank you very much for the food!

Second half of BBQ The sun was going down, so we grilled some things and moved to the Ribbink. The second party started after the grilled meat and vegetables were served. This is Toyobai, a gift from my boss. It was given to me as a recommendation from my boss when I left my former workplace. It is a clear dry Toyobai, but I could taste a little sweetness, which I liked. Thank you very much!

Ahhh, what a time crunch! It's already January at my new job, and already I'm in charge of the main event of the school year. It was my first time to be in charge at my first job. I went from being on the side of being seen to being on the side of showing. Oh, I don't have much time! I had to clean up the house and have a BBQ for the last time during GW. (I'll just put the menu here in case you're interested.) I opened a bottle of Jyushiyo at that time! I like the Dragon's Bastard the best! I'm going to post a series of notes as a reminder, so I'm going to take a break from the sake language again. Sorry! And thank you for the food!

Extra Edition It was early on my way home, so I always try to get sucked into a pub on my way home. I got a bottle of Kujikawa, which was a souvenir from a customer. It was served with Sanriku wakame seaweed and bonito. It was my first time to drink this brand, but it has a nice light sweetness, umami, and sharpness. It was especially good with bonito. Thank you very much for the sake!

The other day was a welcome and farewell party at my former workplace. It was an all-you-can-eat, all-you-can-drink Chinese course, but we had to bring our own sake. The first one was a Musical Instrument Masamune! Light, sweet and fruity! It is a very elegant sake, but you don't feel it at all even though it is alsodeye. It is the best of the best of the aluzochu liqueurs! (This is my personal opinion.) We will take a break from sake words for the Banquet Series. Thank you for the banquet!

Okuroku, which I have recently started to see. Is it a new brand of Iwate Meikozo? If it has been around for a long time, it is my ignorance. I have been a fan since I saw the "Oni Kenbai" event at Maezawa SA. The red color is really cool. The aroma is a citrusy aroma that makes you want to drink it. The mouthfeel is very modern, with a clear and tasty acidity when drunk chilled. When heated as recommended on the back label, it has a moist sweet acidity that is quite good. As a result, both are delicious. Don't abuse the sake language, it's self-explanatory. 〜Traditional arts must be passed on locally or they will die out. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

There was a welcome party for newcomers, and they wanted to drink my choice of sake. The venue was a stylish restaurant with good Italian food, so I had a hard time deciding. I had never paired Italian food with sake! So, after much research, I chose Shichibonshari, a brand I had never tried before, but which was recommended by the liquor store! It has a smooth sweetness, a robust umami, and a bit of acidity. I see, this is good! The depth of the light bitterness is a perfect match with cheese, olive oil, and garlic! It was a great success 😋. Don't torture me, I don't care what you say! 〜But, well, whatever you choose, it's the right choice, isn't it? ~... Thank you for the food and drink!

We had a few bottles of Jyushiyo left, so we brought an additional bottle of Naraman. This is the product of a business deal with a sake master. This is one of the sake recommended by the teacher. There is a slight hint of alcohol in the topping aroma, but not enough to be bothersome. The mouthfeel is full of sweetness, umami, and acidity, with a strong umami flavor, but the acidity nicely wraps it up. From the fruity aftertaste, the acidity and bitterness gently close the bottle. I've got a photo of the lion dance from the other day, so I'll upload it here. Don't abuse me, I said sake without permission. 〜Selfish rice balls are delicious! Thank you for the food!

The other day, my wife brought some Jyushiyo when she had a Hanami girls' party with her girlfriends. I brought home an extra 1.5 gou of sake, so I rudely shared it with the mother of the izakaya. The appetizer was boiled flounder and soaked spinach. It was fresh, fruity, and sweet! There was also a slight gassy feeling. It finishes with a mild acidity and bitterness. It has a strong presence that does not lose at all to the sweet and fatty flounder. Wonderfully delicious! Please don't abuse me, sake words on their own! 〜Spinach is best when the root is red! Thank you very much for the food!

The last in the lion dance series is a kudoki. It was a bit of a pajampa-yan by now, but we managed to complete the tour in the evening. Is it less sweet than kudoki? Or is it more acidic? Either way, it was delicious! This year, I had a lot of emotions, and I laughed and cried during the lion dance parade. My friends may have been a bit disappointed, but personally, it was a good festival! Thanks for the food!
