I opened a bottle of a souvenir I bought in Hawaii. This one is a so-called craft saké of lilikoi (passion fruit). I had heard that they had built a brewery relatively close to Waikiki and wanted to go there, but unfortunately, the brewery has moved to the Big Island of Hawaii in 2022, leaving only the store. The aroma was sour and koji-like, with a hint of Japanese sake, and a soft tropical breeze! It is not as fruity as one might imagine. When you taste it, it has a light, acidic flavor, but it is not a citrusy, sour sake either. It has a refreshing sweetness and acidity with a clean aftertaste, but it also has more rice than expected, making it more like a sake. It has a tropical flavor, but I thought it would be more like a juice. It goes well with vinegar-based foods such as salads. The volume is blinding, but the end of the bottle has more lilikoi than the beginning. The flavor is refreshingly tropical and astringent when you bite into the seeds, and the sake flavor is light. I enjoyed it with thoughts such as, "I want to go back soon. By the way, the store that handles Junmai Ginjo...which part of Junmai is Junmai? I thought, "What part of Junmai is Junmai? If I have a chance, I would like to try the Junmai one.

The 7th Matsuo Taisha Sake-1 Grand Prix ④ Islander sake brewery had a stall at "Sake World Summit in KYOTO" and we were curious about it. Since the system of multiple lines was not good for time performance, bouken and I changed to a sharing strategy. They had passion fruit, Kona coffee, and Junmai Daiginjo. ISLANDER SAKE Junmai Daiginjo Unfiltered Nama-Genshu. It was a proper sake with a gentle acidity and a rather refreshing taste. It is a loose sake that is a little lacking in my opinion. The price is expensive, so I don't think I will buy it. ISLANDER SAKE Kona Coffee The color is a little brownish and it smells like coffee. I always drink my coffee black, so I thought it was very light coffee. I don't think I'll buy this one either. Here, I ran into the owner and manager of "Sake Bar Shinshiro," which I had visited with bouken-san before.

I remember the last time I drank Miyaganbai, it was delicious 🤔. I knew there was a sake collaboration between my neighborhood liquor store and the Kanmei Brewery, but I put it off thinking I could always buy it. But it's plum season and I finally bought it (almost, coyly). Oyusaki Quartet I heard that the name "Uguisaki" is a play on Osaki, where the cold plum trees are located, or plum blossoms and bush warblers (Uguisu), and many other things! At first, you can taste a little sourness. It's just a little bit sour, but it's not too much. The sweetness is soft and lingers on the tongue. Maybe a little more refreshing than the Miyakanume I had before (not sure I remember that 😆). Fresh, fruity and a little different from the gentle sweetness of rice. Souvenirs from Shinshin SY Among several souvenirs, I chose this one intuitively by looking at the label. He brought three four-packs of sake as a souvenir, which is a generous gesture for a business traveler who travels all over the country. I would never have been able to do such a thing with my own pocketbook. When I pour it into the cup, it is more yellow than I expected! Is this a matured type? The aroma is slightly fruity, but has a bitter, mature aroma. The mouthfeel is crisp and dry, with a light sweetness and bitterness, and a moderate umami, but the maturing aroma in the aftertaste is unique. The light sourness and bitterness in the aftertaste are quite a tricky thing to pull off. This strange taste is not one of my favorites, but it is something that makes me want to drink it again. It reminds me of that strange feeling I had in junior high school when I used to prank cigarettes behind my back. It's a treat!

Aizan sake, still stocked but a little interrupted for refrigerator reasons😅. Shochiku Ume, but brewed in Nada, not Fushimi. There's a big building that looks like a factory near Sunshine Wharf.
