Next up was the Ittiki Senzan Comet Nama-no-Hara Sake. The only sake from Gifu that I know of is Ikki Senzan, so I thought I'd give it a try. It was a brand that had just been opened. Today is Valentine's Day!👩‍❤️‍👨 This Sake paired very well with the filet mignon I prepared for my wife. There is a full mouth feel with umami. There is a light smoke flavor and wood. The aftertaste is short.

Cowboy bought me this as a souvenir from Niigata! Yay! Yamahai is great! The design is cool too! It's crisp and mellow, and I drank a bottle so fast... I want to drink it again!

Purchased on a business trip to Tokyo to try it. Almost a year later, I finally opened the bottle. It is sweet, with a hint of acidity, maybe the work of wine yeast. Finally, the rice flavor tastes like Koshihikari from Tango. Bats for sure. The 22nd year was brewed with Italian rice called Carnaroli, which I wanted to drink.

Late night at the diner. The second one is a limited edition sake that is sold only on two days before the brewery opens. This year's bottle is called "Gokuragiri Limited Edition" on the label. This one has a sweet taste of rice. It's different from the earlier Sukkiri, but it's thicker. It's not my favorite, but it's the kind of sake I want to drink a little bit of every day. Sasasande - I'm still in the sasandei. A trophy of the Niigata expedition. Surprisingly, it tastes like a summer sake with a strong acidity. It is said to be made from 100% Kame-no-o with a 65% rice polishing ratio. I wonder if anyone can guess the type of rice by the masking. Someday I would like to say, "Oh, this is Omachi"...

Purchased at Ponshukan. It has a cute design that does not look like a cup of sake. The sake is brewed with four varieties of rice produced by four farmers in the Nishigama district, located in the far west of Niigata Prefecture. So that's what the grains of rice on the label mean. That makes sense. The sake was served cold in the cold sake corner at the store, so I chilled it well at home. It has a well-balanced taste, not too sweet or dry. It is easy to drink and delicious. Niigata's cup sake has a huge variety and high quality.
