Purchased at Saijo Sake Festival
It is said to be a limited hiyaoroshi
At room temperature
Subdued aroma
Smooth and gentle on the palate
Light and not so round.
Medium mouthfeel with some lingering aftertaste.
Buy at the liquor store
Abbey's local brand
First time I've heard of it 😳
The owner says you might not recognize it unless you're told it's Abé.
He recommends heating it up
Cold sake
Smooth and smooth on the palate.
The sweetness and umami characteristic of honjozo sake gradually spreads.
The aftertaste is dry and crisp.
Certainly no aberrancy at all 🤔.
When warmed up to lukewarm, the full flavor comes out and it's much more to my liking.
Around 40 degrees may be just right.
Purchased at a sake shop
A guy I used to know at a sake bar recommended this sake from Hyogo!
A brand that you don't see very often in Osaka 👀.
Cold sake.
Subdued aroma
Light on the palate
Rounded flavor with a mellow and astringent taste in the mid-palate
It is rather dry.
At the Sake Bar
Chose Ishikawa's sake next time, too!
Naohiko Noguchi for the first time!
Cold sake.
Slightly yellow in color.
The aroma is subdued.
It is light at the beginning, but the astringent taste increases from the middle of the mouth.
However, it is not as heavy as Kikuhime.
The sake has a high alcohol content (20%), so there is a spiciness that comes down the throat after swallowing.
The aftertaste is rather short.
At the Sake Bar
It's been a long time since I've been to Unrei Hi
It's my first time drinking at Shishi-no-Sato
Cold sake
Subdued aroma
Mouthfeel is smooth and easy to drink.
Good umami and some weight
Good as a food sake
Purchased at Kitakyushu Sake Shop Drive 2 months ago
Aiyamazaru I liked quite a bit at a sake event in Kitakyushu a few months ago.
This one is from the lot that came out after that event.
Cold sake.
The aroma is neither lactic nor fruity.
Shocking on the palate (I've had it once at an event...)
Dark mellow sweetness like chocolate 🍫.
Then, from the mid-palate, the aromatic taste increases and the aftertaste disappears quickly.
It's like eating an Alfort...
The two characteristics of "Aizan-ness" and "Yamazaru-ness" are more emphasized than the one I had before, but they are kept in good balance.
As the meal progresses, the "Yamazaru-ness" comes out, so it might be better to drink it by itself.
A gift from an acquaintance
Shichida's limited distribution Iwanokura in Kyushu
If you come to Kyushu, please visit 👀!
Cold sake
Uri-like aroma
More acidic than usual Shichida, perhaps to match with Saga cuisine
Slightly juicy
Slightly long aftertaste.
A gift from an acquaintance
A new brand of window plum
Neither of them is an image you see very often
Cold sake
Calm taste
Sweet but not too much like a Saga sake
Medium-bodied with a good amount of umami
I bought this when I visited Kamotsuru Sake Brewery at the Saijo Sake Festival!
I knew Kamotsuru originated from Association #5 yeast, but I didn't know it was brewed with it until I got home 😂.
This is my first sake with No.5 yeast 🍶.
Cold sake.
There is a gentle sweetness in the middle part of the sake.
Is this the unique taste of No.5 yeast? 🤔
It is easy to drink with a slightly light mid-palate.
You can feel the umami of rice well.
The aftertaste is normal length.
Purchased at a liquor store near Hiroshima Station on the way home from the Saijo Sake Festival
Sake shop Yamada is one of the most famous sake shops in Hiroshima 🤔.
I've often seen this in sake magazines and I'm glad I went 😊.
I'm a sucker for the word "limited edition" so I chose the limited edition of Amego no Tsuki, which is only sold at 3 sake stores in Hiroshima!
I'll be sure to post more of the sake I bought at the Saijo Sake Festival 🙌
Cold sake
Gentle aroma!
The image of Amego no Tsuki that I had before is a little light and has a unique rice flavor.
The sake is light in the mouth and the sweetness and umami of the rice gradually increases from the middle part of the mouth.
As the saké progresses, it has a mellow flavor that is typical of junmai sake, as if the drinker has become accustomed to it.
It seems to go well with strong flavored dishes.
Saijo Sake Festival (6)
The last sake brewery we visited was Sanyotsuru Sake Brewery, which was also new to us!
We drank hiyaoroshi and bought some limited edition sake and left Saijo 🍶.
It was a very fun sake festival, but there were just too many people 😂I would like to come back on a weekday when it's quieter.
I heard it's also famous that people always fall down and ambulances come, but I guess it's safe? I'm happy to see it😅
Alcohol in moderation 🚑.
It has a gentle flavor, but the most classical taste of all the sakes we drank this time.
Slightly full-bodied but with a crisp aftertaste
Saijo Sake Festival (5)
Continuing with the Hakubotan Sake Brewery
I attended the Saijo Sake Festival with a friend who is from Saijo and loves whiskey more than sake, but according to her, when she thinks of Hiroshima sake, she thinks of Hakubotan!
I guess you don't see it much outside of Hiroshima 🤔.
It's not like a fruit, it's more like sugar? Gentle sweetness like sugar
There is enough umami of rice.
There is a little bit of a lingering aftertaste
Saijo Sake Festival (4)
After Kamerei, we went to Kamotsuru Sake Brewery.
Visit the Kamotsuru No.1 brewery to see the explanation of the sake exhibition and purchase some limited-edition sake.
Then we went to Saijotsuru Sake Brewery.
I tried to buy the limited edition sake, but I hesitated and refused to buy it because it was sold at room temperature... I wonder if it's ok if the brewery sells it at room temperature 😅It was marked as requiring refrigeration...
Next, we went to Shirobotan Sake Brewery.
This is also a brand I had never heard of before!
Not so heavy and very mild!
Sweet and silky!
I think it would be great if it were heated up!
Saijo Sake Festival (3)
After Fukubito, we went to Kamerei Sake Brewery for the first time.
The entrance to the brewery has a very cultural festival feel to it.
Is it sweeter than Fukubito's Daiginjo-Masushu?
Personally, I prefer the taste of Kamerei.
It has a refreshing aftertaste!
Saijo Sake Festival (2)
After Kamo Kanehide, we went to Kamoizumi.
When we headed there, there was a huge crowd at the food and drink booths...
I gave up on drinking it right then and there and bought a limited edition sake for the Saijo Sake Festival!
Next, we went to Fukubito Sake Brewery.
I had never heard of this brand before!
I bought a bottle of limited edition sake here too!
Light but with a slight sweetness that lingers on the tongue like when you drink sugar!
It has a sharpness.
Hi Eiji, ☀️
I see you went to the Saijo Sake Festival. I went to the Saijo Sake Festival myself 😄It was a great day for a festival, although there were a lot of people everywhere. I went to the Saijo Sake Festival myself 😄 It was a great day for a festival.
Hi Hiro!
It was my first time attending and I was so overwhelmed by the amount of people 😂I was surprised that there were quite a few middle and high school students there too😳.
I was also attracted by the limited edition sake so I decided to try the trout sake lol it was sweet enough and delicious 🤩.
I went to the Saijo Sake Festival 🍶.
It's not easy to find people who choose Saijo for their first trip to Hiroshima instead of Miyajima, Kure or Onomichi 😅...
I heard from a person I met at a bar that the main area is the plaza near the station, but it's recommended to visit the breweries because it's the most crowded place, so I decided to visit the breweries and buy limited sake.
First up was Kamo Kanehide!
It's a famous sake from Hiroshima, but I had never had it before.
It has the gorgeousness characteristic of Aizan.
The aftertaste was soft and went down my throat easily.
It is light and has a very beautiful taste.
Hello, Eiji-san.
I see you went to the Saijo Sake Festival 🎵.
I'm sure you had a lot of fun at the Saijo Sake Festival ✨.
I had a tasting of Kamo Kanehide this year and it was my first time to try it, and I remember the sweetness was very beautiful.
It's a good sake festival!
Hi ma-ki!
It was very crowded and hot, but I managed to make it home without collapsing 😂.
Kamo Kanehide is the most refreshing sake I've had in Saijo, but it also has the gorgeousness of Aizan! I had the impression that the Kamo Kanehide was the most refreshing sake I had in Saijo!
Purchased at a liquor store
Purchased during a tour of Kitakyushu liquor stores about 3 months ago
Oike Sake Shop in Tobata
Besides Fukuoka sake, they also have other sake such as Nozomu, Senzuke, Gohashi, Kirinzan, etc.
They had Shoryu Horai, which is not so common in Fukuoka.
I chose Yumetenshin, a collaboration sake.
Slightly chilled
Moderate aroma
Smooth mouthfeel
No sweetness peculiar to soaked sake.
However, there is a moderate rummy sweetness.
The sweetness may become slightly addictive as you drink it.
It tastes more like Saga sake than Fukuoka sake.
It goes well with Japanese dishes and dishes with soy sauce.
It goes well with motsu nabe (hot pot).
Purchase at liquor store
It's been a long time since I've bought Takaraiya.
It seems to be distributed locally, so if you see it outside of the prefecture, it might be rare.
At room temperature
The taste is full of wild and lively flavor.
The aftertaste is not so much sharp as crisp.
When heated, the lively flavor rounds out and settles down. ☺️
It's like a friendly delinquent who has become kinder to his friends.
That's what it tastes like!
Good evening, Mr. Eezy! I have seen this one but haven't had a drink yet. I will try to drink it.
Now, I am thinking of planning an off-line meeting of Fukuoka Sake-no-wa at the end of the year. How many days are available at the end of the year?
Good evening, Gura-san! Takaraiya has a pretty classic flavor, so I'd recommend hiya more than cold sake!
Thank you for contacting us 😊.
I'm available until around 28, but I'd appreciate it if you could get back to me as soon as possible💦.
Purchased at a sake shop
Kushira, another brand of Shinomine, which is one of my favorite brands in Nara.
It's rare to find a place that carries it in Fukuoka...
I found myself on my 700th check-in.
I'm still drinking mainly sake I've never had before ✊.
Chilled a little.
Aroma is subdued
The aroma is modest, but the strength of the sake is strong.
It's not a sharp and powerful sake, but it has the maturity that only autumn sake can have.
It is classic but not that powerful.
Good morning, Eezy!
Congratulations on your 700th check-in 🎉.
It's nice to have a milestone saké from your favorite brewery 🎵.
Shinomine-san and Kushira-san are very interested ✨.
I hope you continue to enjoy the good sake life 😊.
Congratulations on your 700th check-in 🎊Congratulations on your 700th check-in 🎊It's great to have the number 1 or 2 favorite Nara sake 😊I also want to drink Kushira carefully 😋Please buy Shinomine and Kushira when you come back to Osaka 😆.
Hi Eezy 😃.
Congratulations on your 700 check in ㊗️㊗️㊗️㊗️㊗️㊗️㊗️ 🎉 Kushira-san 🐳‼️ is new to me but it's another brand of Shinomine-san 🤗 Kanji is too difficult to read 😅.
Hello, Nemuchi-san!
Thank you very much 😄I rarely see Shinomine-Kushira outside of Kansai area(?). I always buy it when I go back to my home country 😂.
Thank you Jay & Nobby 😊.
I didn't recognize it at first sight either 😂.
It's a sake made from Yamada Nishiki grown in-house in a district called Kushira in Nara 🍶 if you see it, please do!
Congratulations on your 700th check-in, Eezy! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I'm always learning about your favorite sake 😊👍I've never seen labels on sake, and I'm always learning about the different kinds of sake you drink 🙏.
Purchased at a liquor store near Saga Station on the way home from the Tenzan Shuzo Autumn Brewery Biraki
I first tried Kibotsuru at the Osaka Takashimaya Sake Festival last month.
I had a hard time deciding between this and velvet, but I chose this one.
Cold sake
Banana-like aroma.
Full and mellow sweetness.
It is one of the top sweet sake in Saga Prefecture, where there are many sweet and mellow types of sake.
Refreshing acidity
Slightly long aftertaste
