This is the second sake I bought at Tobu in Funabashi. It was my first time to try Fukui sake as well... and I realized I hadn't had a Kuroryu yet 😖.
It is a little different from the modern fruity sake, but it is still sweet and tasty and easy to drink, but perhaps because of its high alcohol content, I had a severe headache when I woke up after drinking half of it. In any case, I should know how much I should drink before drinking...
When the cork is opened, it has a fruity aroma.
In the mouth, the sweetness spreads quickly and flows nicely.
It finishes with a slightly strong alcohol taste that makes you want to keep drinking.
This is a mellow type of Junmai Daiginjo that is different from the usual floral and fruity Junmai Daiginjo, focusing on the rice flavor and alcohol. It has the feeling of a wine in a home-cooked meal, and can be paired with a wide variety of dishes.
It's been a very long time since I've been to Hanagaki! I couldn't go to Kaga last week, so I couldn't get the Kikuyu I was looking forward to buying... My heart was stuck in a certain desire...
I want to drink a big glass of sake.
On my day off, I scoured the internet for information, and after much agonizing at the liquor store, I came across the Hanagaki Junmai Unfiltered Sake with Different Rice Series! I had never had Kame-no-o sake before, so I chose this one!
Fruity aroma coming from the glass...☺️ When you hold it in your mouth...it's sweet! After that, strong acidity, high alcohol and astringency comes and finishes it off! Sweet and spicy! As expected of an 18% sake!
I was actually put off by the price, but after tasting it, I made an immediate decision. I would like to buy other sake rice varieties if I see them.
Kame-no-o, before drinking sake, I had no idea it was active in sake rice. It is mind-boggling to think that if this rice had not been found, Koshihikari would not have been born. I see that it is also in the Gohyakumangoku lineage.
It was a little expensive for 500ml,
I bought it because it was an old Hanagaki sake, which I like.
The aroma is unique to old sake and the taste is deep and delicious.
