Macho shocked me before...this time, I didn't expect much since it was fire-aged and not a draft 🍶...but when I opened the bottle: .... Pssh! Wow...the aroma of rich Yamadanishiki rice with 80% polished rice...the mouthfeel is sweet but thick... This is a very rich wine! The flavor is also very macho...definitely overpriced...this is delicious...I want to drink it again...it's not a trendy sake right now, but it's good...this is good...

I had been wanting to drink this for a long time and got a bottle of "Ousai Macho" from Makino Shuzo.... I'm also interested in the other macho series...I'm sipping it with cod roe tempura and black shrimp tempura...I think it goes well with strong-flavored snacks and dishes. I was there just two and a half months ago, so I missed it a lot! Once again, Kamakura is a wonderful place! I bought this Wakaba unfiltered sake in the summer and felt it was still young, so I let it sleep in the closet. It has a good balance of flavor, with the punch of unfiltered sake, but without losing the simple country feel of Wakaba. I put it in the closet again, but it was good enough. It's not Wakaba, but Higuchi Shinyo, a triple axel that is anything but rustic! The ROC is still very difficult, but I hope the Japanese will do their best to get on the podium!

New Year's sake (2) - Women's tears When I went back to my parents' house, my father bought this sake. It seemed to be a recommendation from Aoki Shoten. With all due respect, I had never heard of this sake and it was unknown to me. When I opened the bottle, there was not much aroma. I was wondering what the same company that did Tenka and Shihu would do with the Meimon Shukai now that they've taken over the business? I was wondering what they were going to do with the prestigious sake associations, and then they released it 😊. Slightly effervescent, sweet and sour. Is it white malted rice? It's so acidic that I thought it was white malted rice. It also has a slightly dry atmosphere. It has a unique taste, but it is delicious. I wonder if the product for the Meimon Shukai that was sold before was Yuyamanishiki, but instead of using Yuyamanishiki, they used Gohyakumangoku to separate it from Honami.

The sake is made and labeled in a way that takes advantage of the climate of Oarai, Ibaraki. It is refreshingly dry when served cold. When heated, it becomes more floral and friendly. I'd like to try it with sea bream or flatfish from Oarai.

Rice used is Oarai-grown Chiyonishiki It is more rough than fresh. However, it is not rough at all. It has a refreshing taste, and the umami of the rice spreads slowly. I've had many Tsuki no I's with this kind of atmosphere! I think it will probably become milder and more flavorful with aging, but I like it better as it is because it has its own personality.
