Today I walked around Jimbocho a bit, picked up a couple of sake books I was curious about, and went home.
In the evening, I opened a bottle of THE SHOT Junmai Ginjo.
The aroma is of cooked rice and white fruits (melon, white grapes). The impression is slightly thickened. The taste is fruity, with a hint of white chocolate sweetness. There is a slight alcohol assertion. The aftertaste is medium to short. A bottle that can be enjoyed casually.
Picked up a few sake books in Jimbocho this afternoon and opened this "THE SHOT Junmai Ginjo" in the evening.
Aromas of steamed rice and white fruits (melon, white grape). Fruity palate with a touch of white chocolate and a bit of alcohol warmth. Medium-short finish.
A cup in the evening when the autumn sun is still warm. The aroma is modest, centered on cooked rice. In the mouth, it quickly becomes expressive, with nuances of slightly cooked fruit and faint purple flowers. The aftertaste is short but sweet, like white chocolate, with a slight alcohol taste. Overall, this wine is unpretentious and rather pleasant to drink.
The nose is rice-led and restrained. On the palate it opens up with cooked-fruit notes and a light violet hint. Short finish, with a touch of white-chocolate sweetness and a bit of alcohol heat. Overall, unpretentious and pleasantly easy to drink.
Gekkeikan "WORLD SAKE" designed for the Osaka Kansai Expo.
A simple, unpretentious sake (futsū-shu) that is refreshingly pleasant when well chilled. It is made with cooked rice and a hint of melon. It is light and easy to drink.
Gekkeikan "WORLD SAKE", with the Expo 2025 design.
When well-chilled, it's a fresh, clean, and unpretentious futsū-shu - simple, easy, and pleasant. Light, straightforward, and very drinkable.
The last built-in Junmai Daiginjyo Shiboritate Nama-nihonshu is,
Gorgeous and fresh, with an aroma reminiscent of pineapple and muskmelon. The combination of thick umami and bright acidity makes you want to say "maravilha".
The last sake, Uchigura Junmai Daiginjo Shiboritate Nama Genshu, was fresh and vibrant, with pineapple and muskmelon.
Rich umami and bright acidity - a glass that made me say "maravilha.
The second cup of Kasaokiya Daiginjo opens quickly with an aroma,
In addition to green apple and pear, there was a soft sweetness like melon. The beautiful acidity spread out, and the daiginjo was well-balanced and enjoyable.
The second sake, Kasagiya Yamada-Nishiki Daiginjo, opened with gentle aromas of green apple and pear, plus a soft melon-like sweetness.
Clean acidity and a very balanced, pleasant profile.
Today I visited the Gekkeikan Museum in Fushimi. Outside, the autumn leaves had started to turn a little and the atmosphere was quiet.
The first wine we had in the tasting room was a special junmai of Yamadanishiki. The flavor of the cooked rice was well balanced,
It had a strong flavor of cooked rice and a little bit of alcohol, but it was a very calm bottle.
Visited the Gekkeikan museum in Fushimi today. Outside, the first autumn colors were appearing.
In the tasting room, the first sake was the Yamada Nishiki Tokubetsu Junmai: solid steamed-rice umami, a touch of alcohol, overall calm and straightforward. Argo Sake 5.0
On the way home, I bought some Argo the day before and chilled it on the izakaya shinkansen 🚄😁.
I thought it was kind of interesting to have sake in a can.
(By the way, I took Izakaya Shinkansen with Kamo Nishiki which I bought at Hasegawa Sake Shop in Tokyo Station on the way there 😆)
Good evening, Ponchan. ♪
It's very tasty!
But if you see a woman eating this 🦀🍶, you might be a bit nervous 😆.
Please try it at home! You're right, this kind of sake goes well with it 😍.
A thank-you gift from the person who guided us to the Gekkeikan Okura Memorial Museum.
At the Gekkeikan Okura Memorial Museum, we were allowed to taste three kinds of sake at the end of the tour, and this was one of them.
I thought it was Gekkeikan and licked it, but why not? I thought it was a pretty high level. If you call it individuality... but it is like it has three things going for it. However, it is also true that the recent draft requires a certain skill. But it is fresh and easy to drink with a good balance of acidity, sweetness, and sake flavor. Don't lick Gekkeikan. It's nice that it's only available here!
