[I think the expiration date is overnight... 😅] Kangiku's active nigori has been officially added to the lineup this year. The name "Shiraginkai" is beautiful✨. Activated nigori at this time of the year is a genre I'd be tempted to buy as a top priority 😄. The fizziness is not as strong as I imagined, and the lightness of the mouthfeel and fairly firm sweetness stand out. After the second day, you won't feel the fizziness as much and the sweetness will become quite bitter, so it's best to finish it the same day you open it 😁. I'd rather drink it with Western food with a strong flavor than Japanese food 😋.

Hi Chanmaya P. I recently had a bottle of this and it was great when I opened the bottle 😋. On the third day, it lost its gassy feeling and was very dry 😱. I recommend drinking it up as soon as possible after opening the bottle 😉.

[What? Christmas? Sake, right? It's Christmas night in the world, but in our house it's Yose-nabe and Sake 😂. We toasted with the brand we bought the most this year, Chokyu's new sake ❗ It is fresh and moderately sweet, but not too fruity and sharp. It is quite competent as a food sake, and nabe is a perfect match 🥰. Chokyu has quite different characteristics depending on the label, so it's exciting not to know until you try it (and they are all delicious) 😁. I put the gift 🎁 on my daughter's pillow in the middle of the night and mission accomplished: ✌️

The more expensive sake is available at Furusato Tax Payment. I got this one 2 years ago and it was delicious 🥰. I'm not talking about Aomori, but Nishiwaki City, Hyogo Prefecture 😁] I received a bottle of Toyobai 2 years ago, and it was delicious ὰ. It has a fruity aroma and a bit of sweetness at the moment of drinking, but it's clean and dry, and the umami combined with some maturity is delicious 😋. Drank it with my father, my brother's wife and I, so it ran out quickly... 😄

Do you want to build a snowman? I was going to pass on the snowman this year, but then I saw him at the liquor store and bought him... 😁. It smells like pear🍐 and the effervescence is quite strong. The sweetness is only faintly perceptible, and the finish is much drier than the Snow Woman I posted one post ago. It is easy to pair with Japanese food flavored with soy sauce or salt, and its low alcohol content makes it a good sparkling nigori sake for a meal 😋. Sentori itself is not really my favorite brand, but I just buy Snowball 😄.

[Another year, another beautiful snow woman 😍]. I was thinking of buying a different active nigori this year, but I saw the beautiful Yuki-Onna-san at the liquor store, so I bought one this year too ❄ww! The aroma is sweet like lychee. It has a distinct fizzy and fruity sweetness, like an adult Muscat Calpis soda 😊. Tastes exactly the same as it was supposed to 🥰. It has a voluptuous taste, so it goes better with strong flavors 😋. Last year I suggested curry or pizza, but probably crab cream croquettes would be the best match 🦀🦀🦀.

[This could be the #1 in 2023! 😍😍] This is an unfiltered unpasteurized sake from Noukuchi, shipped after about 3 years from bottling. I wouldn't buy it even if it was in the liquor store because it usually costs 5,500 yen, but if you pay tax in Furusato, it's a different story: ✌️ I'm really happy to be able to get such a brand that I usually don't buy through Furusato tax payment 😄. It has a melon-like aroma and a medium-volume sweet flavor that is delicious on its own, but most notably, it has an aged taste like rum raisins in the aftertaste 🥰. I'm a big fan of sake with a beautifully matured taste, so this is a bottle that I really like right on 😆😆😆😆. This is shockingly too good ❗❗❗❗ I might have decided the No.1 sake I drank in 2023 🤣🤣

The first active nigori❄ of the season. I wanted to buy this label last year, but the timing wasn't right and I didn't go through with it😄. The aroma is like white bean flour, and of course it has a strong carbonation 🫧. The sweetness is quite moderate, with a dry and clean aftertaste that is easy to pair with any meal 😊. Surprisingly good with sushi🍣😋.

The warmth of human skin is justified. I've decided to buy all the labels I find that I've never had before. This time it was hiya oroshi 😁. I drank it cold and found it to be less distinctive than the Chokyu I've had in the past, and a little dryer than the other sake I've had, but still a good sake in general. Nakano BC's website recommends room temperature to lukewarm heating, so I lightly heated it up and it was so delicious that it completely changed my impression 😍. The umami flavor was very pronounced, and I felt as if its potential had blossomed at once 🤣. A bottle that shows the depth of Chokyu ❗

[Wadayaro million ww😆]. The last fresh Romain I bought was also a limited edition sake from Kagaya 😁. I remember it was really good so I bought this one too ✌️ When opened, it has a minty🌿 aroma and a fizzy taste. As the day goes by, the juiciness increases and the juicy sweetness and melon🍈 notes become stronger. The aftertaste leaves a slight tingling sensation and is still delicious😍. This is the kind of wine that can be paired with hearty meats 😋.

[Fruity rice wine. As a rice wine lover, I want to buy all the labels I've never had 😆. So I bought a Jungin of Akita Sake Komachi! The top aroma is much the same as the other labels, like apple🍏 or grape🍇. Lately, the regular label Tokujun has been a bit on the dry side, but the Sakekomachi is on the sweeter, fruity side. The aftertaste is citrusy🍋 and clean with a little more acidity. It is an easy-drinking type with a pleasant impression 🥰. I think it is easy to match with both Japanese and Western food😋.

Freshness Otter First purchase of the raw version of Otter Festival Sanwari Kubun, which is only released twice a year: ✌️ From the moment the bottle is opened, a fruity aroma like pears spreads out in a whiff. This aroma alone is a definite winner👍. After the slight fizziness that is typical of nama-shu, a gentle bitterness and sweetness spreads in the mouth, and it's absolutely delicious 🥰. It has a sharp, smooth aftertaste that is not too heavy, so it's dangerous to gobble it up 😄. It's a bit expensive, so it's no surprise that it's delicious, but it's more than satisfying beyond its price!

[Reading: Kanagaso! Aged sake from Noukuchi is available at Furusato Tax Payment❗ The color is a little dark ivory, as is typical of aged sake, and the aroma is of grain, which is also typical of aged sake. It has a nutty 🥜 flavor and smooth mouthfeel, not at all trendy and modern, but mildly delicious 🥰. The herbaceousness of the hints and the strong astringent bitterness of the aftertaste are also nice and let you know how deep the sake is: ✌️ It is a 2018 vintage, but it is not overripe for a 5 year old sake, a high level bottle that should be called "quintessential Farmouth" 😋.

I knew Yamane Keishiki would be like this😄]. Last year I could buy Zenkichi's Hiyayogoshi, but this year I could buy Nakanori's: ✌️ The aroma was not so much when it was just out of the fridge, but as the temperature range rose a bit, it had a banana-like top note. The sweetness on the attack is strong and impactful, but after the sweetness recedes early, the acidity is stronger. The finish is smooth with little cloying taste. I have had Yamae-Nishiki with Shinshu Kamerei and Gokotsuru, and they all had similar impressions 😁.

[Mikotsuru, and Beyond] It has been a long time since I uploaded this page after a business trip overseas. I had never drank Gokotsuru Hiyoroshi before. It is rather fresh for a hiyaoroshi, with almost no sense of maturity. It is sweet and sour in its own way, but it has a full-bodied umami flavor on top, so it is not the light sweet and sourness that I dislike. If I had to say something, I'd say the aftertaste could be a little more impactful, but it's easy to drink and that's all that matters 😁. It's good with fatty grilled fish 😋.

[Name like a comic duo 🤭] I've always been curious about Abe but couldn't come across it in my area of activity, but I found it in the basement of Marunouchi Building😆. It has a gorgeous top note like grapes 🍇, a slightly stronger effervescence, a clean sweetness and mineral flavor, and a gentle bitterness in the aftertaste one after the other, kind of like Nabeshima 😄. It is very delicious, as it is a brand with a high reputation! It makes me definitely want to buy the different labels👍 I'd love to have a bottle to pair with shao mai, Japanese hamburger steak, or other soy sauce flavored meats 😍.

It may be the most beautiful sake name I know. Rare sake from Shimotsuma that I got from my hometown 😊. The name was apparently chosen from a public contest to evoke the image of a purple loosestrife. Since there is no sake brewing company in Shimotsuma City, Raifuku Sake Brewery in neighboring Chikusei City produces it. Actually, I had never had Raifuku before, but it seems somewhat similar to Morishima, Gokeijo, and Watarabune, which are also made in Ibaraki 😄. It is an easy-drinking, delicious sake with a refreshing sweetness and a gentle spiciness in the aftertaste that makes the drink go down a treat 😋.

The one I've been waiting for 😘. When I traveled to Noto Peninsula last year, a seller of Suzu ware said that Sogen's hiyaoroshi is the best sake in Japan, so I definitely wanted to buy some this year: ✌️ The moment you take a sip, you feel the sweetness, but the umami that spreads afterwards is accompanied by a unique richness and bitterness, somewhat like cocoa 🍫. The aftertaste has a strong alcohol feeling and a stimulation that makes your tongue tingle, which may not be to everyone's taste buds, but I like it a lot because of its robust taste 😋. I heard that they also have hiyaoroshi with different sake rice, so I would definitely buy it next time when I find it👍.

[First brand I've been able to drink in about 10 years👍] I got a bottle of Kiri-Tsukuba's light nigori nama-zake (unpasteurized sake) from a hometown tax payment. It is a popular brand that is consumed almost exclusively locally, but it appears that there was some new sake left from last year that will be shipped in December 2022. ✌️ Although it has been over a year, it has not lost much of its freshness with a slight effervescence, and on the other hand, it has a moderate calmness that is quite nice 😋. It has a sweetness, but the refreshing alcohol taste and crispness are the result of the aluzochu liqueur. Like last month's Onra, it's nice to be able to get a brand that is hard to find through hometown tax payment 😆.

[Where does love come from? Answer: Banshu 😁. It's been a long time since I've had Aisan sake. Gentle green apple aroma. Not so sweet, with a slight chilliness and berry🍓 type acidity. The first hiyaoroshi of the season. Eiko-Fuji for the first time in a long time. First purchase of the label I had been thinking about buying every year but hadn't. ✌️ The aroma is sweet like mango 🥭. The sweetness spreads for a moment, but it is less pronounced than the aroma suggests, followed by a firm, well-defined umami spiciness that is very good. I like it better after it has been left in the fridge for a little while than freshly out of the fridge 😆. I think it is a good harmony between the calm and matured taste that I like and the juiciness of Eiko-Fuji-like taste 😋.
