My wife bought two bottles of sake as souvenirs from our visit to my second son's place on the Shimanami Kaido and to my parents' house in Takamatsu!
She said she decided to go with the one that didn't look like it was drunk (she decided based on its appearance😆).
One of those bottles.
Kinryo JELLY I'm pretty sure I've never had it.
A little stylish jellyfish design? I've never had it before.
I just had a bottle of Jinling Gekbaku in the fridge (given to me by my wife's mother in Takamatsu) to compare with this one 😋.
I've had this one a few times.
It's crisp and light.
Clear and clear.
Sweetness is only a little, easy to drink, easy to match with food.
Kinryo JELLY This is my first time drinking this.
Rice is Oceto, white malted rice
A little yellowish.
This one is more of a sweet and sour type? It's totally different from Tsukihaku.
It has an apricot-like fruity taste, but it's gentle and refreshing.
The sourness increases gradually.
The label on the back says "a handsome sake with an apple jelly-like atmosphere", but what kind of a sake has an atmosphere like apple jelly instead of apple? 🤣🤣
A bit odd? but tasty 😋.
Hi ichiro18😊
Cool label 😘 but is the jellyfish picture an apple jelly -> JELLY FISH (jellyfish)? It's a mystery 🤣is the taste more apricot than apple? I wouldn't count on my taste buds 😅
Good evening, Takashi 😃.
It's so good you'll be numb with jellyfish🪼! I guess you mean it tastes more like Jelly -> Jelly🍎😅We love the white yeast type 😋.
Good evening, Jay & Nobby😊.
You didn't write much about it being inspired by the sea, so the jellyfish is a mystery 🤣.
Is this sourness derived from white yeast? It's a bit unique, but it was delicious 😘.
Yesterday, Kinryo super dry.
Wagakawa's Kinryo, super dry, was chosen to go with a meal. The rice is polished to 70% and the alcohol content is 15-16%. The alcohol content is 15-16%. It is good with fried food.
The Sanuki Kuraudai we drank on the way was also delicious. It is a lactic acid bacteria drink or makgeolli, and seems to go well with grilled meat.
Junmai Ginjo Unfiltered Nama Sake
Gorgeous aroma, sweet taste, easy to drink
No tanginess at all
No sake-like sharpness
Slightly sour, but sweetness prevails.
Slightly heavy sweetness, but the taste lingers on the palate.
The official description says "Muscat aroma", but muscat still doesn't ring a bell for beginners: .........
Taste to my liking
Kinryo Tsukihaku Ginjo 300ml
I went to Kinryo Brewery
You can drink it anywhere locally.
Gentle sweetness and umami, not strong acidity
Screw stopper type
The rice is 100% "Oceto" grown in Kagawa Prefecture.
It is not a floral type.
It is sweet and sour with little sweetness and a strong acidity.
It is slightly bitter and not too sweet, making it easy to drink.
The taste is delicious!
Date of manufacture: October 2023
Close date: November 16, 2023
Well, today...I'll open a bottle of rare sake🍶❓ which I got from my junior who was traveling🚗 for GW: ❗️
This is Kusunokami from Nishino Kinryo in Kagawa prefecture.
Of course, this is my first drink 😁.
I checked the official website...it says it is recommended for room temperature to warmed sake, but I had it chilled, so I opened it cold ✨.
Almost no aroma, clean taste...slightly dry and sharp so it's well-balanced and doesn't interfere with food 👌.
On the other hand... it doesn't have a strong character, it's more like a food sake for everyday drinking😅.
It's getting hotter, but it's relatively cool today... so I tried heating it up 🍶... but it didn't taste that great 😏...
But there wasn't much change in the taste 😅.
I think the umami flavor has increased a little bit.
Cold or warmed sake is a matter of taste 🤔.
In general, it is a well-balanced food sake🙆.
After that, we moved on to Kotohira and then to Utazu to visit a park that offers a panoramic view of the Seto Ohashi Bridge!
The grandeur of the Seto Ohashi Bridge. The smoke from the industrial complex in Sakaide. The soothing sound of the sea and the sea breeze.
It was a fitting end to our trip to the Seto Inland Sea.
After drinking in Takamatsu, we took an overnight trip across the Seto Inland Sea at night.
We ended our trip with some of the best sake from Kotohira and Bicchu Matsuyama.
When you open the bottle, you will find a mellow and rich aroma of grain.
The mouthfeel is a bit on the refreshing side. The banana-like richness contrasts with the acidity that immediately stimulates the tongue.
The astringent and pungent accents are added to make it crisp and dry. It is a delicious wine that can be drunk without hesitation!
After visiting Kintohira, we had Sanuki udon noodles and went to Kinryo Sake Brewery, which we had our eye on.
The collection of sake cups and the history of the brewery in the museum are well worth seeing!
While soaking up the afterglow of the visit, we enjoyed a tasting at the store attached to the brewery...and that's about all we have to say so far.
The last one was Jun Dai!
Floral and gorgeous aroma.
The mouthfeel is more refreshing. The pleasant sweetness and umami of Yamada-Nishiki was gently felt, followed by the spicy acidity and astringency that tightened up the taste.
It is a deep taste that is elegantly wrapped up by the lush astringency that comes at the end of the bottle!
There was also a selection of limited edition sake from the brewery, as well as a selection of souvenirs! We had so much fun that we forgot how tired we were 🍶.
After visiting Marugame, we went to the innermost part of the temple, the 1368-step Kintohira mairi. The lush nature and scenery along the way and the majestic main shrine at the end of the path were both refreshing and solemn. There are many shrines along the way, so we received a lot of power.
I will skip the visit to Kinryo Brewery in the next post.
Then, "Kusunokami"!
Melon and pear type aroma.
It was moist and as described, juicy with a sweet astringent taste like grapes.
When tasted thoroughly, it has a mellow flavor with a rich rice-like umami.
However, there is a lingering acidic and astringent aftertaste that tightens up the taste, so you can enjoy the expansion and contraction of flavors!
Thus, after touring the mountains and hills of Bicchu Matsuyama and Marugame, both legs had run out of energy.
Hello, Manachie!
It is Mt. Iino as you said!
Sanuki Fuji, which was initially forecasted to rain plus clouds, so this may also be a blessing from the Lord Kintsugi 👐.
Yesterday I went to Marugame and Kintohira!
The curving beauty of the stone walls, the view from the existing castle tower overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, and the skillful construction made my heart dance from the morning ✨.
I will skip the visit to Kintohira in the next post. After visiting the shrine, we went to "Kinryo" to enjoy a healing drink (tasting)!
First, the Yamahai!
Banana aroma.
Round sweetness like banana or tropical fruits. Immediately after, there is a punch of spicy acidity, but there is no unique flavor such as a sense of maturity, and it is refreshing.
The sharpness of the astringent taste that comes in at the end of the bottle is habitually delicious👍.
Now, Hirosaki is the only existing castle tower that has not yet been visited!
I already have a plan in mind, so I hope to visit when the time is right 💪.
