Last night was a New Year's party with a couple I met last year. We had dinner at a nice restaurant and then went to Kokubuncho. After the fourth bar, I finally had a chance to drink sake. I have known the owner of this sake bar on the outskirts of the city for about 25 years now. The lighting doesn't look like it's the kind of place you'd enjoy sake, but don't worry about that. The selection is quite good, so go for something you've never tried before. First up is Hiryu, the one with Tatsumi Fujinami's red towel. A dry sake with a refreshing yet tasty flavor, just like Mr. Shinzawa! Thank you very much for your hospitality!

I was called to work in Tokyo. I don't like cities. The National Diet building is beautiful with gingko trees in full color. I was surprised that it didn't smell like ginkgo. It is as expected.
