Tenma Taishukai 2024 ④ The day before, I tasted Sakakamatsu from this brewery at a liquor store in Ikuno Ward. He asked me if I was going to the Tenma Sake Festival. I've been to this brewery and bought sake before. I think it was a brewery in Osaka, but closer to Wakayama and near a fishing port. I drank Junmai Ginjo Natsusei Nemuchi-san confirmed with the brewery that it was the same Sakakamatsu Natsusei that I drank the day before. Hmmm? When I drank it the day before, I had the impression that it was a summer sake with good flavor and drinkability, but something is different... Is it the temperature range? It seems too thin or too light 🤔. Summer Ginjo This is also a summer sake. Similar to Junmai Ginjo, but this one is spicier.

Souvenirs of Iwaki I didn't know there was a sake brewery in Iwaki city😇And some delicious shiso maki (shiso rolls) ‼️ Shiso rolls are usually wrapped in miso, but this one is wrapped in takuan (pickled radish). The aroma is a typical one-cup one. The aroma of the bottle is a bit tangy 🫙. When you drink it, the stimulation to the throat is tsuyomi. The mouthfeel is not sticky and easy to drink though, The sweetness is heavy on the back of the tongue. The alcohol taste, bitterness, and a mysterious stimulation hits the throat as if to drown it out. I don't know how much it costs, but I think it is good for one cup! This shiso maki is so good 🤤. When you combine this with one cup of shiso maki, the stimulation to the throat is lessened and the sweetness is emphasized. The spiciness of the shiso roll neutralizes the sweetness. This is a pairing full of the feeling of a popular izakaya (Japanese-style pub) 🤣. I'm an uncle who is happy with this pairing 😭

Late night at the diner. The second one is a limited edition sake that is sold only on two days before the brewery opens. This year's bottle is called "Gokuragiri Limited Edition" on the label. This one has a sweet taste of rice. It's different from the earlier Sukkiri, but it's thicker. It's not my favorite, but it's the kind of sake I want to drink a little bit of every day. The first Toyoshu in a long time is a pure rice sake brewed with the Yamanokami yeast derived from sasayuri (a kind of lily of the valley) that blooms in the sacred grounds of the Ogami Shrine, a sacred place for sake. If you are a sake drinker in Nara, you must try this 😁. Perhaps it was because I was used to light and fruity junmai sake, but it was alcoholic, not too sweet, and had a firm mouthfeel. But it has a modern feel and is easy to drink. Yamano kami yeast was surprisingly not peculiar 🤔. Thank you for the food 🙏. I think I'll go visit Ookami shrine ⛩ again.
