Shikanoyama, not Kanouzan. Sake that is refreshing and has a nice mouthfeel. Classical label is also good👍. Sake brewery in Takeoka, Futtsu City. Just the other day I climbed Mt. Sawtooth and had crispy fluffy fried horse mackerel at Takeoka, excellent 😊.

Today, I took a paid vacation, I went to Hardoff Eco Stadium in Niigata to watch a high school baseball game at the Niigata Prefecture Fall Tournament. It had been about two months since I watched the quarterfinals of the summer tournament in July. 3rd place game Teikyo Nagaoka - Hokuetsu Final match: Chuetsu - Niigata Meikun Niigata Meikun won the championship with an upset victory. On the way home, we had a drink 🍺🍶 at a travel bar near Niigata Station, where we also stopped in July. The owner of the bar remembered us. Edamame and Niigata craft beer. We started with Tsururei's "Enjuku-Yamashu" sake, aged for 3 years in a snow cellar. This is delicious!

Today is our family's wedding (ceremony) anniversary. The sake is a special honjozo of "Nabeshima". I brought this sake to the after-party and served it at the sake corner. At the time, it had an impressive honey-like sweetness and umami flavor, but now it has a modern, fizzy taste that is also fascinating and shows the genius of the brewer and toji. The price of 1,320 yen for a 4-pack of this quality sake is an excellent value for money👍.

Today, I watched the Saitama Prefecture Autumn High School Baseball Tournament. In the third round, Urawa Gakuin and Hanasaki-Tokuei were suddenly eliminated. On the way home, I went to the second branch of Izumiya, a landmark restaurant at the east exit of Omiya Station. First, we had their famous nikomi (stewed vegetables) and draft beer. Next, junmai sake from Akita. Mone. Hyakuda" cultivated in their own rice field. It has a gentle and mild taste with a pure rice flavor.

Hiya oroshi, the season of hiya oroshi. The hiyaoroshi I always drink every year are Kaiun and Tsururei. Kaiun hiyaoroshi is exquisite. It is calm and has a delicious taste of rice and sweetness. I drink it with mushrooms and thick fried bean curd ajillo.

I went to Nagatoro ( Nagatoro), an attractive scenic spot that Saitama Prefecture is proud of, for the first time in 12 years👍. It's wonderful with line rafting, shaved ice, and Hodosan shrine 😊. It was quite crowded. I also visited the Nagatoro-gura store. Fire-aged Junmai Daiginjo 40% polished. 300ml bottle. Smooth and highly polished taste within the normal image of sake.

This Daiginjo is a 35% Yamadanishiki 35% polished Daiginjo from the National New Sake Competition tanks. Fresh, effervescent, and with a nigori component, this is a beautiful sake that is both refined and straightforwardly "delicious. The main dish was a roast beef of Wagyu beef thigh, which was prepared by request. Checked in at 2200.

Purchased at Shimane Prefecture's antenna store in Yurakucho (Hibiya). It has a smart, gentle taste with a discreet fizziness and juiciness. I had tasted other types of Gassan when I visited Izumo 5 years ago, but I had never had the impression that it had such a smart sake quality. Akaten can be served with sake, but beer 🍺 is by far the best match.
