My favorite Harukasumi. Junmai sake, probably for the local market. I like this kind of sake. It's hard to comment on how good it is. I took a vacation and came to Akita to visit. Akita is also known for Takashimizu. I bought some manjuu (steamed buns) and a cup of sake at a kiosk. It was one cup, but it was unfiltered pure rice. It was a mellow, dry sake, chilled to a crisp on the heated bullet train. The rough flavor is delicious, as it is unfiltered. I have only had cheap Takashimizu, and I had the image of a commoner's pale dry sake, but this sake is good. It is full of umami, and the quality of the sake is clearly conveyed. Yamabuki manju, which seems to be famous in Akita, is too good. The white bean paste is delicious. Now, it was time for a hot spring bath.
