Izumo - Shimanami Kaido - Takamatsu (7) My wife stayed with my daughter and grandson in Izumo, while my two sons and I went to Shimanami Kaido (Omishima Island) with three men. On the Shimanami Kaido, we rented bicycles and went for a little cycling 🚴, visited a brewery, and went to an izakaya (Japanese-style pub) where my second son is always taken care of. First, we had a drink we'd never had before! neki - always by your side Sake from Tenpoichi Refreshing and low acidity, Less acidity, less peculiar taste Easy to drink

Izumo - Shimanami - Takamatsu (6) The fourth drink at Izakaya was Fusozuru Yellow in color. A little sourness, refreshing A little bitterness? Just as we were about to close the party, my wife and daughter called me. My wife and daughter called me to tell me that they had taken a picture of me in the daytime, but they didn't dress me in the right way, so we'll try again tomorrow morning 😱. In the morning, we took pictures at Izumo-taisha Shrine and headed for the Shimanami Sea Route.

Izumo - Shimanami - Takamatsu⑤. The third drink at Izakaya was "Oroku" Honkaku I've had a different kind of Oroku before! In today's rather hard lineup, It has acidity and freshness. However, I drank at my daughter's house, drank at the izakaya, and got drunker and drunker: 😵‍💫 The third picture is the izakaya menu

Izumo - Shimanami - Takamatsu ③. After dinner at my daughter's house, I went out for a drink with my second son. A restaurant that serves a lot of Shimane's local sake. This restaurant is quite crowded 😳. First up Yamasan Masamune Inixin First time to drink this sake, Is it crisp and dry? I guess. and I can also feel the rice flavor. The third picture is not taken at an izakaya, but at my daughter's house.

Izumo - Shimanami - Takamatsu (2) A baby was born in September to my daughter who lives in Izumo (first grandchild), and I went to see her for the first time with my eldest son who lives in Tokyo. My wife was one step ahead with my second son who is on the Shimanami Kaido. It was a rare occasion for all of us to get together in Izumo, even though we don't all get together on New Year's Day. At this timing, we went to Izumo Taisha Shrine to visit the shrine. Near the Izumo soba noodle store was the Asahi Brewery of the Ten Rising Sun It's in a traditional shopping street. Tasting, 100 yen for 6 kinds😳. 1. Junmai Ginjo Asahi Asahi Sakonishiki Clear, dry, easy to drink! 2.Junmai Ginjo Yachihoko Brand name of Izumo-taisha Shrine's sacred sake Dry, maybe a little strong 3. Nakamachi Enishikaru (The Ten Rising Sun) It seems to be made by the people of Nakamachi shopping street. It seems to be made by people in Nakamachi shopping street. I guess it's between 1 and 2. 4.Junmai-shu Jyuhasahi Gohyakumangoku Slightly ricey, with a hint of sourness. 5. Junmai Kagamigusa (Omachi) It has acidity and a more robust impression. 6.Junmai Genshu Juhasuhi Even darker impression Overall, is it dry and refreshing? A firm impression? If I had to pick one, I'd say I prefer Yachihoko. I heard that during the month of Kamiarigetsu, the brewers are busy with various events at shrines and so on.

Izumo - Shimanami - Takamatsu (1) To Izumo with my daughter Browsing for Shimane sake at a liquor store near my daughter's house. This liquor store has quite a variety of sake. Dohun Kouro Omachi (Sake from Itakura Sake Brewery in Tenshuu) It says "Please ask the staff at the cash register". What is it? 🤔 and it drew my interest and went to the cash register 😆. From Itakura Sake Brewery's website Dochigumo is a sake in which a similar phenomenon to that of Sakeru occurred. Lactic acid bacteria that would normally die when the alcohol content rises have a tolerance to alcohol, and instead of dying, they multiply and lactic acid fermentation occurs. It is not a sake that was born out of desire, but this sake has an appeal that seems to appeal to something." Apparently, if you think it's the usual Tenju, be careful, because it's not! When you drink it, you certainly get a strong sense of acidity 😖. Wine-like? No 🥂 or a little different? It's unique. Not like sake, but it's a drink. It's still wine 🤔

When I was in Gifu on business, I was looking around for something to buy to take home, and Kozaemon caught my eye! What's this? Is it a raw sake made with out-of-quality rice? And it's called "the power of rice" and is made from 100% Hidahomare? And it's cheap? I was intrigued and bought it! When I drank it, it had a slight sourness. Fresh and delicious 😋. A little fruity Maybe I personally prefer it to the Kozaemon I drank before 😘(this one is cheaper though lol) After a day's travel, I drank the next one and found that the sweetness and sourness had increased 🤣 even more to my liking! The power of the rice? The power of the brewer? I can feel the effort and skill of the brewer (I think so myself lol) I don't know, but it's delicious! I'm glad I brought it back from Gifu in my business backpack.

Yamaguchi alone drinking, go on. There are 6 or 7 more to go, but none of the breweries I've never had...which one to choose? Gobashi Junmai Ginjyo Saito no Shizuku I've had a few Gobashi, but this is my first time! Saigato-no-Shizuku and Yamadanishiki, 55% polished rice. This one has a sweetness first. A little fruity. But still not too sweet, gentle and easy to drink 😋. Really, they are all delicious 😘. I ordered KAWARA-Soba, but was told that it might be too much for one person, so I ordered half. I really could have had enough for two, but I had to save up 😝.

Also stayed at the new mountain mouth the night before Explore alone 😆 First time here What's on the menu here that I haven't had before? This one! Kinpaku Kuromatsu, my first time drinking it! Polishing ratio 75%, alcohol 16%. Sourness is felt at first. But it's still very refreshing. Not too sweet! Soft taste? Is this a little unusual taste? But it's delicious 😋. Maybe you can choose a meal to go with it 🤔. I keep thinking about what would go well with it, and I keep drinking and eating before my head 🤣🤣🤣

Lastly, Ki. Is this a refreshingly dry type? Good for a last drink. And it goes well with food. We also had nodoguro (northern sea bream). I heard that Yamaguchi prefecture has the largest catch of nodoguro, I didn't know 🤔. Now that I've started working in Yamaguchi, I think I'll be coming here from time to time. Looking forward to it 😋. But first, let's do our work well from now on today👍.

Last night, I had dinner with a customer in Yamaguchi. The customer said "Toyo Bijin might be more popular than Otters these days" (actually, I had a bottle the day before, but it was a dry one), We started with Toyo Bijin 😄. It's still sweet, fruity, and soft! Delicious! But if you want to drink it with a meal, it might be a little too sweet. I forgot the name of the dish that looks like a bear's paw! I better not drink too much tonight because tomorrow is the first time I'm going to visit a client. I'm not sure if I should have one more drink 😣. I have so many things to drink.., But I'll go with this one! Toyo Bijin Dai-Saraguchi This one is also made from 55% polished Yamadanishiki rice, 16% alcohol. Toyo Bijin, I have an image of a strong sweet flavor, but what is a "big dry"? I'm curious 🤨. Is this one more refreshing than Harada? The Toyo Bijin I drank before was sweet, so I thought (assumed?) that Toyo Bijin was firmly sweet. Is it because this one is dry? Clear and refreshing sake with a soft sweetness, also delicious 😋. But! Yamaguchi's sake is of a high level (though I haven't had enough to say so 😝 ) However, the deep-fried whale fish that I ordered because I was in Yamaguchi was better than the one I had in the past (elementary school lunch)? LOL (sorry!) Maybe it's just an image 😜. But still, drinking good sake makes you happy? LOL!

Working in Yamaguchi from tomorrow to the day after tomorrow. So, I'm staying overnight before work today. When I go to Shimonoseki, I stay in Kokura, but tomorrow I will be in Shin Yamaguchi, so I will stay there the night before. Since I'm staying there, I decided to do a little scouting and exploring on my own. I went to a store near the hotel, I primped up with beer and started out with..., Harada, my first drink 😙. Yamada Nishiki 55% polished rice, 16% alcohol! This sake is sweet and tasty, but refreshing! Delicious 😋. A little fruity and soft. A dangerous one that goes down smoothly! Delicious, but I've never seen Harada in my neighborhood (I think, I could be missing it) Where is it sold? If they sell it, it's a tasty one I'd like to drink once in a while😘.

My oldest son got married last month in a hurry! 😳 Her parents came from Saga to visit us in Yokohama at the beginning of September and greeted us for the first time. A few days after that, my son and girlfriend contacted me to join the registry! (She was very particular about the date of the registry.) Ehhhhh! 🤯 In such a hurry? Are you sure you want to make all kinds of arrangements and stuff~? I was like... After that, their parents sent me a bottle of sake and my wife a bottle of shochu, saying that they had taken care of us when we went to Yokohama. Kitaya Daiginjo Tokuso First time to drink it. The father on the other side is now in Saga, but his hometown seems to be Hakata. Yamada Nishiki is polished to 35%. You can feel the sweetness of the rice quite well! Beautiful sake! It's like a daiginjo-ish? Delicious 😋. Wishing my son and his wife happiness as we sipped our sake 🍶. We also got some nice seaweed from Saga and picked some up, which was also delicious 😋.

I bought it to compare with Zanso Horai. Shoryu Horai Fresh! A little sweetness Soft sourness A little bit of schwarziness 🫧 Freshness Delicious 😋. Very different from Zanso Hourai. Indeed, the alcohol content, sake level, and rice polishing ratio are different! And this Shoryu Hourai is unfiltered raw sake. I thought we were going to compare the sake, but the choice of combination this time was too obviously different...? Both of them were delicious 🤔. Still, if I had to say which one I prefer, I would say I prefer the Shoryu Hourai 😘.

Sometimes, I think about drinking a local Kanagawa sake because I have to. This time, it was Zanso Hourai. I thought I'd buy a bottle of Zanzou Hourai, but I saw Shoryu Hourai next to it at the liquor store, so I suddenly decided to buy both to compare them 🧐 and bought it. First, Zanzo-Hourai Hiyoshi Oroshi. It's a light and dry type? It's refreshing, with a slight bitterness. The refreshing taste is more noticeable when the sake is cold, and you can taste the rice flavor more when it is at room temperature. But in any case, "refreshing" is the most fitting word! Basically, Zanzou Horai is a fast brewer, while Shoryu Horai is a sake brewer. Next, let's go to Shoryu Horai!

Yesterday was our high school reunion, which we have been doing every five years for some time now. More than 200 people from the same year gathered at a hotel near Yokohama Station. The first and second meetings were set up, but there was no end to the conversation, so we went to izakaya (Japanese-style pub) individually at the end (with different members than usual). Since we had been eating Western food so far, we decided to have some Japanese sake as well. Hakkaisan Clear, light and dry. I think it had a sharpness to it... Already had too much 😂. We meet often in small groups, but it's fun to meet as a whole! Next time is in 5 years! I'm getting to the age where I'm like 🤣.

Something caught my eye at a local liquor store. Q/A (Kue) Unbranded (There seems to be a variety of reasons for the name, but I won't go into them here.) Following the instructions to be careful when opening the bottle, I turned the bottle a little, put it back, and opened it again and again. The first sip is not like a Japanese sake! It's a shuwa shuwa type! And it doesn't feel like sake, it doesn't feel like it has 14% alcohol 🤔. If I don't restrain myself, I'll open a four-pack in no time 😋. But it's not that sweet. The internet says it tastes like rice? I'm not sure. Maybe I'm not feeling well.., If you don't have the image of "sake" in your mind, it's a delicious drink! Good luck with your new world!
