Sannomaru Autumn hiyaoroshi from Kaito Otokoyama Shuzo. There is almost no standing aroma, but the hint of aroma is pear. It is a junmai sake that was fire-aged before storage and bottled fresh. Yamatsuru is the closest sake brewery to my house, but I haven't had much of it lately. The last time I drank it I got the impression that it was peculiar and not really my cup of tea, but not this Junmai Daiginjo! Clear and fruity, good balance of flavors. It's also gorgeous😋. The price is reasonable for a Junmai Daiginjo, but I think it's worth it🧐 I can't underestimate local sake 😚

Low-polished Junmai-shu from Yamatsuru, a local sake brewery in Ikoma, Nara. The name is Choyao. It was a gift, but it looks like it will cost a fortune💧. I heard it was brewed using a method described in a wooden letter from the Nara period. I wonder if it is true. Anyway, let's try it. Wow! It is indeed as rich and sweet as I had heard! The sake level is a whopping -40❗️ But the aftertaste is refreshing. Surprisingly easy to drink and delicious 😋. It's pretty good 👍I'll have to try this one too 😙. But I wonder if people in the Nara period really enjoyed this kind of sake 🤔.

Whale wave is next. I thought it was your first time in Gifu Prefecture and you got one 😊. Special Junmai sake with 60% polished rice ratio I bought the jacket because of the impressive cartoonish, retro Showa-era "Oniotome" illustrations. The illustration was done by Minako Sonobe. It is made with "Homare-Fuji" sake rice developed in Shizuoka Prefecture. It has a calm aroma and an elegant, gentle taste with a well-balanced flavor, and it tastes great on the finish!
