Chiyotsuru, a local sake from Akiruno City, Tokyo. The label is very flashy. The aroma is a bit rummy. The taste is not too sweet and refreshing, but it has a strong aftertaste with a strong sake flavor.
Sentori Kabutomushi. The aroma is refreshing. It was hot again today, so it tastes even better. This exquisite sweetness is unique in the world. It's so good...the best.
Hi Jay & Nobby. I really think Sentori Beetle is a unique flavor. Whenever I see it on sale, I want to buy it and when I have it at home, I can't wait until mid-summer to drink it.
A lifelong youth from my hometown, Aizu Sakashita, given to me by my parents on my birthday. The aroma is gorgeous, just like a boxed Junmai Daiginjo. However, the aroma is elegant without being too loud. The taste is also very elegant, with gentle sweetness and moderate acidity. It is a kind of sake like water. It tastes luxurious.
Local Toyokuni given to me by my parents on my birthday. The aroma is extremely subdued. It has a slightly peculiar taste. Sweetness, acidity, bitterness, and a bran-like taste that seems to have been deliberately added to the beautiful Junmai Daiginjo-like quality of the sake. I think there are two sides to this one. I am glad that I can enjoy these peculiarities.
Aizu Otokoyama times given to me by my parents on my birthday. The label design gives a sense of tranquility and coolness. The aroma is modest and not very pleasant. The flavor is not fruity, but it is delicious, with a sweet and sour, modern taste, but with the robustness of Junmai. If it had a bit more bitterness and spiciness, it might taste like Tenmei's former summer sake, Sarasara Junmai...
Thank you very much.
Tamura's Ginga, a delicious local sake from Fussa. The aroma is subdued and mild. It has a refreshing mouthfeel with a nut-like richness and bitterness. The finish is a strong, fresh sake-like flavor that spreads out in a blur.
There is nothing modern about the aroma or taste. That is also good.
It is not easy to drink. But it is still delicious.
Kaisen's summer sake.
It was also served at the "Nishitama Sake and Sakeware Party" co-hosted by Tamura Sake Brewery, Ishikawa Sake Brewery, and Ozawa Sake Brewery, which I attended the other day. It was a truly enjoyable event.
I could not taste it coolly at that time, but it had a fresh aroma like green plums, and a spicy, bitter taste. It had a spicy, bitter taste with a nutty richness. I'm afraid I'm going to get addicted to this nutty, rich taste of Kasen.
This is a very cool Sawanoi Junmai Genmai sake.
The aroma is understated and refreshing, but has a slightly cucumbery sweetness to it. The taste is also softly sweet, but it is wrapped tightly with astringency, strength, and a touch of alcohol. It looks delicious on the rocks...
So I drank the second glass with pure ice on top.
Oh, oh, oh... This seems to be a standard Junmai Dai-harakuchi, but it is not Junmai Dai-harakuchi. What a sweet and clear Junmai Dai-harakuchi... The sweetness that was soft and fluffy is now clearly defined. This is another enjoyable sake.
Summer sake from Kimasa. The sculpin on the label is adorable. I asked my wife to run an errand for me and bought a bottle. I was happy, but still happy.
The bottle my wife selected for free purchase was a bottle of Senkou Beetle. I was happy, but still happy...
The aroma is sweet and vanilla-like. Acid, acid, dryness, sweetness for a moment, and then bitterness...hmmm, this is delicious. This is delicious.
By the way, Kazuhiko Ota praised Kimasa on a program I recorded and watched the other day.
Hello palm farmer 😃
Ma'am, nice taste in bottle selection and beetle 🌈 nice taste 👍 looking forward to drinking it!
And I just noticed that you have exceeded it before you know it! Congratulations on crossing the 1,000 post mark 🎉 ㊗️
Sawanoi is a delicious sake from Tokyo.
This is its ginjo sake, Nakakumi-nama-sake. A fresh and fruity aroma spreads when the bottle is opened. There is no specific fruitiness, just a fruity aroma that spreads.
Ohhhhhh - it's a gut punch! Powerful flavor that wakes you up. I can't get enough of it. The sweetness, astringency, spiciness, and...well...everything is taken away by the power as if you've been punched in the face with a gut punch.
This is why sake is so interesting. It is different from sweet, sour, or bitter flavors...it is more like a mouthfeel or impression...I can't describe it well, but it is definitely there, like a three-dimensionality. It is a sake where you can feel that.
I am sure that this is because sake is a precious interactive existence in which the drinker can also participate, such as feelings of attachment, connection, and association.
Suehiro Shuzo's Genzai.
Mellow aroma derived from grains. The combination of rich sweetness and acidity like plum wine with a firm but elegant effervescence is pleasant.
Tenmei's slightly rich series.
Fruity aroma reminiscent of pineapple. The taste is fruity, juicy, sweet, and sour, with a nice astringent accent. Hmmm...it seems they felt the Sarasara Junmai from the other day was not enough for them. This slightly richer series made up for it.
Found Hanaizumi at Queen's Isetan! Oh, Hanazumi goes outside of Fukushima~?
I like Hanazono. First of all, I like the label. And of course, I like the taste.
It has a slightly savory aroma...mushroom and nutty. It's a solid junmai sake with a mushroomy, full-bodied flavor. Is it a mature sake according to the label? A very satisfying bottle with a heavy flavor.
Tenmei's summer sake, Sarasara Junmai. I wonder if Sarasara Junmai is still the default version of Uchijobanabi?
Slightly yogurt-like aroma. Slightly sweet and slightly sour. Very light and easy to drink.
I purchased this ice cold bottle of Taman Boast on a recent Thanksgiving Day. This bottle is intended to be served on the rocks. It has a refreshing aroma of watermelon, or perhaps rumney. I was a little surprised that the aroma was still present even with ice. The taste also has a strong sake flavor. Although the alcohol content is not that high (16%), you can still taste the sake flavor even with ice. I would say that this is a very well-made sake.
Taman Pride Sparkling Sake. I thought it would be good for summer and bought it on a recent Thanksgiving Day. To be honest, I didn't like it very much. I didn't expect a sake filled with carbon dioxide gas to have such a tinny taste...
The luminescence-derived fizziness is good, but the filled soda gas is not... another mystery of sake...
I mean, it's not strange or anything, but it still tastes unnatural.
Today is Ishikawa Brewery's Appreciation Day, a stamp card that is issued for purchases of qualifying products for three consecutive months. This time, I received a four-pack of sake for completing the stamp card. I was surprised because I thought it was a smaller bottle. The brewery may have left it unsold, but the drinker was delighted.
It has a mellow melon-like aroma and a sweet, rich flavor. I know this may sound insistent, but they offered us a 4-gou bottle for completing the stamp card... they are so generous that I have become a fan even more and more.
It's been a long time since I've had Shinsei. It's been three years. It was cosmos then, too.
The spicy aroma of the wooden vat is in the air. It has an austere aroma like red wine. The spicy flavor of the wooden vat is also present in the taste, and combined with the strong acidity, it is very tasty.
Purple Space Ramune label. Took a bit of time to open the bottle due to the schwashwash. The aroma is subdued. It tastes more like a pineapple soda than a soda, with a fruity flavor. It is suitable for summer and perfect for a hot day like today.
Sawanoi's Okutama Spring-fermented Harazake "Delicious Harazake for Umeshu".
I wanted to try ume sake this year and found this product. I decided to drink some of it since it was bought to be served cold or on the rocks. The sake is 20 degrees Celsius, so I drank it on the rocks.
Well, since I drank it on the rocks, I couldn't really taste the aroma. The taste is not too sweet, but rather refreshing, just like the Honjozo Okutama Spring-fermented sake. Since it tastes so good on the rocks, I wondered if it would be too strong if I drank it as it is. I regret that I should have saved another 1 gou of sake to drink on the rocks.
