Kido Junmai. Whenever I find it, I always ask for it. ...... Well, most of the Shinjuku Sohonten stores have Kido, but I just can't resist.
It has a light and refreshing taste, but you can taste the umami and sweetness of the rice deep inside. I like it.
Kangiku Ocean99 Kukai Inflight Junmai Ginjo.
Kangiku Ocean99 is becoming more and more famous, and last year or the year before, it was still a sake that only those in the know knew about.
It has a refreshing taste with a strong sense of minerality. It is just like the sky. It has a nuance like a clear sky.
Mimuro Sugi Junmai Ginjo Dio Abita is a sake that won the gold medal at the Sake Shop Grand Prize 2023 announced last fall. It has a bouncy aroma, refreshing fruitiness and acidity, and is delicious. I wonder if it would look even better with vegetables.
Today I came out to Shinjuku for the first time in a while, so I went to Sake Cost Sake Brewery Shinjuku Sohonten. Or, well, since I moved, I guess I will inevitably have a series of "it's been a while" from now on.
While I was thinking about what to order, the staff immediately brought me a bottle of Abe Regulus. It seemed to be a limited quantity service.
It is brewed using white malted rice for shochu, and has a muscat-like aroma, acidity, and a mineral taste. It has a flavor similar to that of white wine. Interesting.
It is said to be a low-alcohol sake with no sake-like characteristics, and there was quite a line for it at the Niigata Sake-no-jin (Niigata Sake Festival) the other day.
Yamori Arashibiki Junmai Unadjusted Nama. This is one of the best sake produced in my hometown in Tokyo, and I can't get enough of it. The strong aroma and the smooth, rich flavor are the essence of Yamori's Arasakibiki.
I'm going to have a drink in my hometown because I'm almost ready to move out!
We went to DenjiN, a local restaurant that has been a great help to us. I knew I had to come here.
First of all, I went to ...... to check out the sake, Higashimurayama Beat, which is distributed only in the city and bears the name of Higashimurayama, my hometown. It was purchased at a recent event. It is a sweet and sour type of sake, very fruity.
Kutouryuu: The best of the best in a normal size.
The Masu is full, but the glass is not. If you think so, you are right. There was about 30ml left in the bottle when we finished serving it, so we sucked it out of the glass to empty it. It is still a delicious sake, fresh and light, but with a moist flavor.
Nanbu Bijin Special Junmai. Not being able to beat the recent wave of price hikes, the overall price of sake has gone up at this store as well.
I thought for a moment that the price of this sake was also 726 yen for 120 ml, but I thought it was a reasonable price, considering the sake itself.
It is light and refreshing, and does not interfere with the taste of food. It is a good sake to drink with food.
Dinner after work and overtime. Today we went to SAKARAKU in Takadanobaba.
It's spring and the cherry blossoms are in season, so the first sake is Hatsuzakura Sakura Label Special Junmai Namaishu. The taste is full and thick. I would rather drink it lukewarm or at room temperature.
Today's drink after work. Tonight we went to Carrot Ya Takadanobaba to say hello. I've known the manager here for a long time.
The first sake I recommended was Mutsu Hachisen Wine Yeast V1116, which is quite acidic and full-bodied. It has a full-bodied flavor with a hint of white wine. Interesting.
Original sake "Hi" Junmai Ginjo from the Ramla family. I was impressed that an izakaya chain brews its own original brand of sake in a tie-up with a sake brewery. And it is delicious.
Today I went to the new house to prepare for the move.
After working on this and that until the evening, I was already hungry and tired, so we had dinner at Dofu-Ro in Ikebukuro. I haven't been able to visit the Ramla family recently.
We started with a Kaiun Special Junmai, just for luck. I really prefer it heated, but I'm pretty sure I'd fall over if I drank heated sake now: ......
It has a rich umami, a slight bitterness, and a strong full-bodied flavor. I can't get enough of it. It goes well with the kombu salad.
Otokoyama Gin-sen. This is Otokoyama in Yamaguchi Prefecture. I think this will be the last one. It is a standard sake at this restaurant, a honjozo type, so it is a little peculiar when drunk at this time. But it is good. This boldness of flavor is pleasant.
Toyo Bijin Jyundo Ittou Limited Junmai Ginjo Nao Kumi Nama. Well, it is indeed a delicious raw sake. It is gorgeous, yet has a deep flavor. After all, Toyo Bijin is a fun sake to drink.
After work, I went to FUKU NO TORI Kojimachi.
The owner told me, "If you came tomorrow, we would have plenty of sake. He said, "We ordered the sake today, so we only have the permanent selection. Well, even so, there are four stable brands of Yamaguchi Prefecture's local sake, so I have nothing to complain about.
So, I had a pint of Ganki Junmai Unfiltered Nama-shu. Soft umami and acidity. I like Yamaguchi Prefecture, after all, and there are many good sake in the prefecture besides the well-known ones.
Hanaoyokyu Junmai Ginjo TheMatch55 Yamadanishiki✕ Omachi. This is a comparison of the regular one and the ogara-mi. I never thought I would be able to do such a comparison for less than 1,000 yen.
The only difference between the two is whether they are ogara-mi or not, so there is no major difference in aroma or taste.
Eiko-Fuji Akono-Wing Junmai Orikagarami. It has a sweet aroma like Eiko-Fuji, but it also has a sharp spiciness. There is also a slight carbonation that gives a tangy sensation on the tongue.
Hououmida Junmai Ginjo Hatsushibori Unfiltered Hon Nama. This one was still available, which is lucky because it will be out of season in a little while. As expected of Hououmida, the aroma is wonderful. The softness of the sweetness and the spread of the acidity are also in good condition. I like it.
