I tend to skip keeping track of my drinking at home, so I'm going to keep a record of my drinking this year as a reminder. I started with a nama sake from Tanaka Rokugo, the first in the Hanpukai. I've been to Itoshima, Fukuoka many times for the oyster house and love the place, but I didn't know there was such good sake there. It is neither too sweet nor too spicy, but has a perfect balance of freshness and flavor. It is not too sweet and not too spicy, and has a fresh, unpasteurized taste. It is lightly muddy, but refreshing and goes well with sashimi.

New Year's party at Kushikoma, a famous Japanese sake izakaya. It was my first time at Kushikoma, so I was really looking forward to it! We had a lot of good sake to enjoy, not to mention famous ones like Jyusyodai, Jikin, and Shinsai. I enjoyed the new sake from Shinsei, the new sake from Jyusyuyo, and the new sake from Jyusyuyo that is only available at this time of year. I had a lot of fun talking with the proprietress about sake. I'd like to go back again.

Happy New Year! For our first sake of the year, we'll be opening a slightly more expensive sake from Yuki no Kayasha, famous for designing beautiful sake. It is a very beautiful sake made from Yamada Nishiki from Hyogo Prefecture, polished to 35%. The label is stern, but the mouthfeel is terribly smooth, and the sweetness and flavor of the rice is rich, making it a delicious sake suitable for celebratory occasions. It goes very well with festive food.

For our New Year's Eve sake, a friend of mine brought us some nigori nama sake as a gift, and we all drank it together! Jikin is my favorite sake this year, and I've been able to drink a lot of it, but this Nigori is exceptionally good. The bubbles, fruity sweetness, and subtle bitterness are well balanced, and it's the perfect example of nigori nama sake. I hope to be able to drink a lot of Jikin next year as well(๑˃˂˂)

I'm done with work! I'm going to start drinking good sake from today to ring in the new year. I opened a bottle of Genmai's Drop Collection that I had stored in the fridge. I've been blessed with the opportunity to drink a variety of Genmai this year, and this is a beautiful, sweet Genmai with no miscellaneous flavors. It has a more elegant sweetness than the Aizan and Harmonic Emotion, and is easy to drink. I'll enjoy it slowly(๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

This is our first attempt at a Junmai Daiginjo, Fukuoka's Mitsui no Kotobuki, made with Sakemira. It's less flamboyant than the original Jyushiyo, but it's a good fruity sake with a nice ginjo aroma and a perfect balance of umami and sweetness. At first it seemed hard, but as the days went by, it got better and better! It's a bottle, but it won't last until the New Year.

I went to Arakawa in Akabane, which I've been wanting to visit since it's a direct brewery of Jyushiyo! They had a lot of Jyushiyo in the fridge that I've never seen before, and since it's the season for new sake, I was able to drink the owner's recommendations, mainly raw sake. It was interesting to hear a lot of talk about sake at the counter. On the way home, I got a bottle of Kakushin as a souvenir, so I drank it at home. It was fruity and delicious. I'll go back in February when I've been told that they'll be adding origarami (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

The first drink in December was a year-end party at a sushi restaurant I know with my friends. My friend recommended Manzaku no Hana Junmai Daiginjo, which is a different type of sake from the Manzaku no Hana. It's not as fresh as it should be because it's only been brewed once, but you can clearly tell the difference between the Aiyama and the Omachi. The sweet Aizan was delicious, but the Omachi, which has a very good mouthfeel, was outstanding! Next year I'll be looking out for Omachi rice as well (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

I thought it would be a shame to open it, but then I heard that the second lot was being shipped, so I opened it up right away. It's not too sweet and not too bitter, but it's a very gentle nigorizake. I opened it like Calpis! I wish they'd release it in a bottle (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

When the weather gets cold, I want to drink Hououmita Strawberry, and this year I was able to buy some! It tastes like strawberry yogurt without the sourness of Tochiotome, and is very delicious. It tastes like strawberry yogurt without the acidity of Tochiotome. It is a must have fruit wine in our house along with Daishinshu's Mizore Apple Plum Wine.

Yoshida brewery is famous for Tedorigawa, and their Modern Yamahai u series. I was attracted by the word "Modern Yamahai" and bought it because I enjoyed Kinjaku Yamahai very much. According to the catalog I got with the bottle, the theme is sincere terroir, modern Yamahai with original recipe, and sustainable sake brewing. The sake is unpasteurized at 13 degrees, so it is very easy to drink and tastes like white wine. I thought I would like a little more sake feeling, but it was really easy to drink and I finished it quickly. I recommend it as an aperitif (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

This is the first Ryuriki at the Hanpukai Limited Sake. It seems to be the number one ranking sake brewery in Hyogo prefecture at Sake no Wa, so I'm grateful to have met them. It's a nigorizake with maximum gas pressure, so I chilled it very cold, but it took me about 10 minutes to open it! It's a muscat-flavored adult ramune, and it's very, very good. I'm looking forward to the Fukuhara Sake Shop's limited edition Hanpu-kai sake every month because it never fails to please me.

There are a lot of nigori new sakes that I want to try, but I was lucky enough to get a bottle of Nabeshima's Shiboritate Namaishu New Moon, so I pushed it out of my priority list and opened it first. It's definitely Nabeshima quality again. It's not too sweet and it cuts cleanly, which I like very much. I can't wait to try the Uranabeshima at the beginning of the year.

It's the season of nigori, and since we're going to drink the Snowman on Christmas, we'll start with the lightly nigori Oze no Yukidoke. As the label on the back says, it has a fresh melon flavor and is easy to drink. It's sweet, but when I served it with fried chicken, it was so easy to drink that it was gone before I knew it! Yesterday, I drank Banshu Ikken at a standing bar and it was really good, so I definitely need to get that one.

This is the second Kinjaku, what is this, it's so good! I was expecting this because the Akiage was quite good, but this one is even easier to drink and I like it. I had the impression that Yamahai in general was not my strong point, but this one overturned that impression. It's a modern umizake. I really hope it will become readily available in Tokyo (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

This is a comparison between Saku from Mie Prefecture and Zijima's Aizan. The same specs of 100% Junmai Ginjo from Aizan, also from Hyogo. Both are Aizan, but not too sweet, refreshing, dry and fresh. The Saku is more flamboyant, while the Zijima is more astringent, and both are easy to drink. I'm afraid of the sake of Mie Prefecture (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

It's been a while since I've checked in, but I'm still buying and drinking sake at my own pace! I got a bottle of Saku 2021 Aizan, so I opened a bottle of Jikin Aizan to compare. Of the many Aizans I've drunk this year, the Zijima has a much drier taste, with a refreshing umami flavor that makes it easy to gulp down. I'm also looking forward to the nigori (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

Because I was happy, I opened Hexagon in the refrigerator which I was waiting for the timing to drink. Since it is a sake for a competition, it is very beautiful and delicious. The Kanagame I drank before had a clearer ginjo aroma and was more to my liking, but this one is a Junmai Daiginjo even though it has the same Yamada Nishiki, so the rich flavor is unbelievable. It's really great to drink good sake when you have something to be happy about (๑˃˂˂)

Since Monochrome was so delicious, we bought Sanguiku and Denshogiku, which have become our favorite brands, when we visited the newly renovated Mimasu Sake Shop. It was a lot bigger and easier to shop! I only bought the yellow one because I have a few bottles of other origami in the fridge. It has a sweet and savory taste with a refreshing mineral taste that is very modern. I'm sure you'll love it!

I thought it was too much of a collaboration with UA, but it turned out to be very tasty and I'm glad I bought it. Both are assemblages, but the rice used is different. I'm sure you'll be happy to know that I'm not the only one who's a fan of this product.
