Nagano Sake Festival ④ Kaorin went to Kyoto for her college reunion today, so I was excited to see what I could enjoy by myself, but the phone rang first thing in the morning to inform me that the equipment was out of service due to a work error by the manufacturer😅🥲. I went to the center to see what was going on, but they managed to get the equipment back up and running, so I came home, but it was halfway through the day and there was nothing I could do... I guess I'll just have to drink this one 🤣. The sake I'm going to drink is the Kutsukake Shuzo's Fukumugari, which I bought on a brewery tour in Ueda this spring. The brewery is located in Nagano prefecture and the people who were born in the year 59 formed the "Gokujo" group and they brew a theme sake every year. The rice polishing ratio is 59%😇. It was a sake with a lot of flavor 😀. I didn't really feel the fruity feeling that is typical of Nagano sake, but the core umami was very drinkable, like an expression of the sake's assertion 😀. If I could, I would like to try the other 4 bottles from the other breweries in the Gokujokai, but I guess that would be impossible 🤣.

Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka① Entered the event for the first time in 6 years. The venue was the 9th floor Sky Hall of Kyocera Dome Osaka. Since 52 breweries in Shikoku were participating in the event, we couldn't visit all of them in 2.5 hours, so we decided to focus on the breweries we rarely see. As usual, Dr. Bouken was with us. First, we visited the booths of "Imakomachi" and "Yutaka" in Tokushima. ◉Junmai Ginjo Unfiltered A clean acidity and a full-bodied flavor. ◉Junmai Daiginjo, unfiltered The Junmai Daiginjo Mucho is a pure, polished, full-bodied, rich, and delicious wine. It was so good. The price was about 3300 yen including tax. ◉Yamansho Slightly dry and refreshing. Not too spicy. Imakomachi Daiginjo The most expensive. The standard, excellent quality, with a full-bodied, all-rounded taste. Not very impactful. In the Kansai region, Ohmune in Hyogo Prefecture seems to carry it on a spot basis. They can also send it to individuals by e-mail or phone.

Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka - Shikoku's Sake and Food Spectacle - (1) Nemuchi and I participated in the Shikoku Sake event held at Kyocera Dome! ☀️ Masamune hunters go today🍶. Today we visited the Tottori & Okayama Antenna Shops, a place of relaxation for Masamune hunters 📡. The 800 check-in is the H27BY (2015 brewing year) Sanko Masamune from which Toji Takagaki retired 😆. We were lucky to get it 😊. This is the only sake from Mr. Takagaki but we are holding Takagaki festival 😅🍶. When opened in the fridge, it smells slightly like a soy sauce warehouse (there was a soy sauce warehouse in my neighborhood when I was a kid) or Shaoxing sake. It's a dry and light sake when cold. Sanko is still a warmed sake, so I'd recommend heating it up 🍶. The top aroma is the aromatic aroma of a freshly heated sake. When heated, it does not have a matured aroma. In the mouth, you first feel sharp acidity and spiciness. The acidity is not as strong as that of Sanko Tenpyo's Namahashi or Yamahai, but it is quite good. There is a slight sweetness and a beautiful umami that does not make you feel the rice polishing ratio of 72%. This is a perfect food sake 🍶😊. I don't know if this is the original taste since it is an old sake, but it was deeply delicious 😌. After retiring, he returned to farm near his hometown, but unfortunately, he died in a field accident last year 🥲. I learned of his death when I saw a relative of his on Instagram late last May with a picture of H27BY "Katsumasa" to inform me of his passing. A toast to Mr. Katsumasa Takagaki 😌🍶. The fourth picture is a sake from the brewery where Mr. Takagaki worked in the past.

Today is Izutsucho. Nagano was given to me as a mid-year gift from someone in Saku ✨. I wonder what it smells like, fruity aroma -> sharpness -> soft sweetness -> alcohol bitterness -> full lingering taste. Delicious. Made in March 2012, shipped in June 2013, it takes a long time. According to the official description, "This is our brewery's best sake, carefully polished with Miyamanishiki and Kinmonnishiki rice produced in Nagano Prefecture and brewed slowly during the harsh winter season, based on the concept of a Daiginjo that is unique to Nagano without relying on high-grade sake rice produced in other prefectures.
