This is my first New Year's Day back in my hometown Osaka. This year, my parents invited us to their department store Osechi. My sister and her husband brought me a bottle of Okutanba as a celebratory sake. You can feel the sweetness of the rice in the beginning, but it changes to a dry taste in the middle to the end. It is a perfect match for the richly flavored Osechi and fatty yellowtail sashimi. It is said that the sake degree is +5 (dry), but I feel that it is +2~3 (slightly dry?). I guess. The sake my sister and her husband served me at New Year's was so good that I decided to pick up another brand from the same brewery. Okutanba Junmai Ginjo. This is Yamana Shuzo's regular sake.
