Last week I visited Dewano-Fuji at Hankyu Department Store, but I went to Umemoto Sake-ten in Nishinakajima because I thought I could find more variety at a special distributor. (Note that they have moved from the location shown on the map of Sake-no-wa, and they have a corner bar inside after 4:00 p.m.) I was a bit lost, so I asked the waitress and she let me try a sample. Melon-like fruity sweet taste. Slightly refreshing? It was delicious, but Junmai Arabashiri seemed rarer, so I bought that one 😊.

The beautiful kaleidoscope-like label is impressive. The taste is sweet with a hint of bitterness at the end. It is refreshing and crisp, but the screw was unusually hard to open, so I think it should be improved. The Junmai Unfiltered Nama-jyu I drank at the end of the year was cheaper and much tastier. I don't know if it's because they use Miyamanishiki, but it tastes a little like the Jokigen I had the other day. A bit 🍇ish.

This brewery was closed in April this year due to the effects of Corona and other factors. It is said that there is no reopening schedule, so it is practically closed. The official site has disappeared, and it looks like the company has been sold. It would be nice if the company that bought it would let it reopen... It's a rich, umami type that's different from the general image of Niigata's sake. It has a sweetness from the rice. As it has won a gold medal, I'm sure this sake would be delicious warmed. My first time at Hanaizumi. And nigori sake! This season, there are a variety of nigori sake, which is very enjoyable. First, the top clear sake. It is moderately sour. After stirring it, it becomes more rounded. The texture is silky (is that the right word?). The glutinous rice is not perceived, though I like rice cakes. I like rice cakes, but I think it's dry. I've never had this sake before❗️. There are many delicious sake in Tochigi, so I'm looking forward to opening the bottle 😀. The aroma is subdued❗️ I'm not sure if this is the first time I've had it, but I'm sure it will be the last. I took the liberty of drinking this sake thinking it was pure rice. The first sip was a bit harsh, but the next sip was a thick and sweet saké. If you taste it well, it has a fresh feeling, which makes it an interesting sake. I think it was a good choice for the New Year, as it is more like amazake sake. I bought some fire-activated nigori at the co-op because it looked interesting... so much moromi... !!!!! I looked it up and found that there is also active nigoromi... Sorry I only have a picture of it after mixing! I know the nigori in Niidashizenshuu and the nigori in this season's Sasasamune have a lot of moromi, but this is probably even better than that! The impact is amazing! Isn't it about 70-80% of the bottle? What is this? When you drink it... it's thick! As you can see, the rice flavor is coming forward. There is a slight alcohol taste, but it also has a banana smoothie-like flavor that is not too classic, making it easy to drink. It is thick, but if you cool it down and drink it, it is surprisingly easy to drink. In any case, it is quite strong, so it would be good with Chinese dishes with strong flavors. It would be better with Chinese food that has a strong flavor, such as stewed eggplant, grilled fish, or simmered dishes, as the richness of the sake would drown it out. I think I'll try it with Bean-curd soup with Bean-curd soup with Bean-curd sauce. LOL! Thankfully, it is fire-roasted, so you can drink it slowly and leisurely over several days. It doesn't lose its flavor and is very useful when the food has a strong taste.

Last night was a get-together. We brought our own sake, assuming it wouldn't be too much since it was an all-you-can-drink course at an izakaya chain restaurant. (I got the restaurant's approval!) I bought my first bottle of Vice Shogun. The aroma is fresh and fruity. The mouthfeel is salty-sweet with a hint of sourness. The ginjo aroma becomes a pleasant aftertaste, and is finished off with a mild sourness and bitterness. I thought it was based on a light dry base, but I could feel Aizan's character, and it was very tasty. The fact that everyone who drank it gave it high marks probably indicates that they were paying attention to me. I also like the cost performance of Aizan's Junmai Daiginjo, which is under 2,000 yen!
