I got this at the Kokusyu Sake Fair. It said that any opened sake was 1,000 yen, so I bought an old turtle that I liked at the fair. I was a bit confused because the bottle was already opened, but the tank was full. I was a bit confused, but I thought maybe they sold it as opened because no one has a license to sell liquor 🤔. Some prefectures were selling it at the booth, but I guess they didn't expect to sell it there. Hachitan Nishiki and Momiji yeast are used. Fruity, apple and pear-like. A little gassy with a smooth mouthfeel. A little spicy at the end. I can't find the same label when I checked... New product? Pineapple-like when the temperature rises. There's a product called Red Turtle with the same specs, and I wonder if it's a renewal of that? Old Turtle seems to be renewing the labels of their other products, too. But I can't find much information about it... I feel it's very sweet when I drink Morinori Natsu-shu after drinking this... I think it tastes better when it is close to room temperature than when it is fresh out of the fridge. When I drank it at a national sake fair, it was a little colder than room temperature. When the gassiness goes away, it becomes more like a fruity dry sake.

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part78 Fukushima ③. The last part of the National Sake Fair... Kinsho Sake Brewery in Fukushima City! I've been to the Osaka department store a few times, but this is the first time I've had a drink there. I didn't buy it because I thought the overall price was too high 😅. Polishing ratio 55%, Yume-no-Kou 15%, 2400 yen It was sweet and delicious. Maybe I should try it next time I visit a department store 🤔. I was annoyed when I left the venue to go to the restroom because the light of fireflies started playing and I was told that the restrooms were closed 😒. I met up with Eezy and we took the subway halfway home together 😊. It was two days full of brain juice. 158 warehouses in 2 days? Thank you to Thank you so much to Mr. Umaumai, Mr. Nemuchi, and Mr. Iji for sharing with us this time 🙇. I guess next year it will be back in Tokyo, but some people didn't know it was in Osaka, so there was a complete lack of publicity. The New Sake Competition open sake tasting is still in Tokyo, and that's a completely bad idea. I'm sure there are a lot of people who are looking for that... I guess they combined it with the Shochu-Awamori Fair, so the admission fee was higher, but I think it would have been better to make it a separate event and make it cheaper 🤔.

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part77 Fukushima 2 Sato Sake Brewery in Koriyama City I've bought Fujinoi in the past at an antenna store that's only open on weekdays. Polishing ratio 40%, Yamadanishiki 16%, Sake degree +5, 3000 yen The official website has not been updated, and the label is a little bit different from the current one, showing a classic type. Gorgeous and fruity 😋. I personally have a good impression of Fujinoi, including the one I drank at home, so I'd like to try some fresh sake if there is any!

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part76 Fukushima 1 Last stop at the Fukushima booth as time is running out! Ootengu Sake Brewery in Motomiya City. I think they had it in the Fukushima antenna store which is only open on weekdays 🤔. I looked up the name of the brewery and it seems to be run by a female master brewer. Polishing ratio 60%, Yume no Kou 14.5 degrees, 1430 yen It is more refreshing and modern than I expected. It has a light taste due to the low alcohol content.

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part75 Gunma 6 Mr. Takai in Fujioka City! I think they had closed their brewery for some reasons and were shipping out their stock, but I saw on SNS that they have started brewing again. I see that they have also released a draft sake. I drank a bottle of nama sake about 4 years ago when the warehouse was already closed, so it was a slightly matured one. Polishing ratio 55%, domestic rice, 15 degrees, Sake degree +2, Acidity 1.6, 1401 yeast? 1747 yen I thought it would be matured, so I was disappointed with its clean taste and no sense of maturity😅. I wonder if there are any liquor stores far from Takatsuki station or south of Kyoto station 🤔.

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part74 Gunma 5 Yamakawa Sake Brewery in Chiyoda-machi I drank a lot of sake at the Kokunisake Fair, and I realized that there are quite a few breweries that are not yet registered as sake breweries 🤔. Polishing ratio 55% Miyamanishiki 14% Sake degree +1.2 Acidity 1.7 Gunma G2 yeast 1550 yen Classic and orthodox impression.

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part73 Gunma ④ Shotoku Meizo in Amaraku Town I have seen packaged sake made by this brewery in a drugstore or supermarket, but I wonder if they have a large production volume. Polishing ratio 38% Yamadanishiki 15.2% Sake degree +1 Acidity 1.1 1801Kyozo 4105 yen It's gorgeous and fruity, but I guess it's a common type of taste.

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part72 Gunma 3) Shibasaki Sake Brewery in Yoshioka-machi You probably won't see this one either, but maybe a liquor store in Sennichimae might have it. They even had some Left Oshin 🤔. Polishing ratio 55% Miyamanishiki 15-16 degrees, Gunma KAZE yeast, 1313 yen The official website has the above specs and price, but the information I received says Miyamanishiki/Yamadanishiki, Sake degree +2, Acidity 1.7, 1801 yeast, 1,580 yen. Fruity and refreshing. It tasted relatively modern, just like the fashionable label. Forgot to take a picture💦.

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part71 Gunma 2 Nagai Honke in Numata City. They call themselves Honke, but I wonder if they are related to the Nagai Brewery of skunk cabbage. Polishing ratio 60% Maikaze 16 degrees Sake degree -2 Acidity 1.7 G201 yeast 1573 yen Fruity and sweet, but a little spicy. I think it's pretty cosy if it tastes like this for 1500 yen or more 🤔.

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part70 Gunma (1) Yanagisawa Sake Brewery in Maebashi City I've had a collaboration sake with Machida Sake Brewery before. I think the only sake from this brewery that can be bought in Kansai is from Masuda Shoten in Sennichimae. Polishing ratio 60%, common rice/mochi rice 15.5 degrees, Sake degree -1.0, Acidity 1.4 No.10 yeast, 1210 yen It is said to be watered and fired once. It is sweet, rich, and heavy. I thought it would be a classic hard-to-drink sake, but I like it a lot.

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part69 Tochigi Ai🥰⑧ Junmai Tochigi no Hoshi Utsunomiya Sake Brewery, Utsunomiya City The brewer, who was standing next to Wakakoma, asked us to have some of his sake as well. Polishing ratio 65%, Tochigi no Hoshi 15%, Sake degree +2, Acidity 1.3, 1540 yen I thought the impression was the same as in the past. The fire-brewed sake I had in the past felt strange, but this time I didn't feel anything special and enjoyed it. Maybe it was because I drank mainly minor breweries, but the last two I drank, Wakakoma and Shikizakura, were very different and tasty. The last one that left a strong impression on me was the Juichi-Masamune 🤔. I've already had the brands themselves, so I passed on them, but I was also interested in the Junmai Daiginjo from Nanamizu and Tsuji Zenbei.

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part68 Tochigi Ai🥰⑦ Wakakoma Sake Brewery in Oyama City The brewer was right in front of me, so I felt bad not drinking it, so I did! Polishing ratio 70% Miyamanishiki 17%, Tochigi yeast T-ND T-S 1815 yen It was a Miyamanishiki that I had not drunk at home! It is lightly cloudy, sweet and juicy. It was the best Tochigi sake we had this day! I'm not into Senkori, Hououmida, or Sagata, but I'm not a fan of the famous ones 😅. I forgot to take a picture of it because I thought it was the one I drank!

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part67 Tochigi Ai🥰⑥ 👴🏻👴🏻👴🏻👴🏻👴🏻👴🏻👴🏻👴🏻👴🏻👴🏻👴🏻 Oyama City's Mifuku Sake Brewery I finally got to try this sake that I've been curious about since the Tochigi Kenmin Kai people posted about it 🤣. Polishing ratio 50%, domestic rice, 15%, 1683 yen Sweet but with a classic mouthfeel. I was surprised to find out that it was a Junmai Ginjo with 50% polished rice. It didn't have that kind of atmosphere at all. I forgot to take a picture of the worst part💦. When I asked the brewer if he was from Wakakoma, he said, "You are from Wakakoma, right? He said, "You are from Wakakoma, aren't you? Of course I know him, we've met at the Hankyu event and the Sake-1 Grand Prix 😁.

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part66 Tochigi Ai 🥰⑤⑤ Kobayashi Brewery in Kanuma City Kobayashi Brewery took over the business of Ikejima Sake Brewery in Otawara City, which was closed down, and revived it. I'm so glad I didn't think I could drink this. Polishing ratio 55% Yumesasara? 1870 yen? I'm not sure of the specs since there are almost no reviews. They're all posted from the Ikejima Brewery days. My impression is that it's a surprisingly beautiful sake.

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part65 Tochigi Ai🥰④ Katayama Sake Brewery in Nikko City There is also a Katayama Sake Brewery of the same name in Fukui that brews Kansai! Kashiwazakari, not Kashiwamori Polishing ratio 65%, Gohyakumangoku from Tochigi, 19 degrees, Sake degree +2, 1950 yen The price is very aggressive for a honjozo! A classic sake with a lot of attitude. The name seems to be "Harazake M" but I don't know what "M" means... The brewer of Wakakoma Sake Brewery gave me a bottle of sake around this time!

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part64 Tochigi Ai 🥰③ Yoshii Sake Brewery in Sano City. As it says on the label, they outsource the production to Yokota Sake Brewery, which brews Nihonbashi in Saitama. Polishing ratio 60%, domestic rice, 15%, price unknown The label says it's 15 degrees though the information they gave me says it's 17 degrees. It tastes like a junmai ginjo but has a nostalgic flavor like a honjozo. No one else seems to be drinking the same label, so I don't know the specs or other details. I even had a person from a certain brewery pour me a bottle of this sake, but he was silent the whole time 😅. I sometimes come to department stores, but I feel like they're getting saltier and saltier.

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part62 Tochigi Ai🥰① Finally here we are at the Tochigi booth 🥳! I'm going to drink mainly from breweries I've never tried before! The smallest sake brewery in Japan, Kojima Sake Brewery's Kananobi no Sato was already sold out 😭. Morito Sake Brewery in Yaita City! Shoninzawa, from the Japanese reading of the name. They use a variety of flower yeast and I'm interested in this sake, but I haven't seen it before! Polishing ratio 55%, 16%, 1650 yen. The lack of any information on the official website about the rice polishing ratio or the rice used is a little unfriendly😅. Surprisingly sweet, fruity and delicious 😋. I know there was a liquor store in Izumisunagawa that sold it, but I wonder if they still carry it now. I'd like to try their other products! Nice Masamune👍

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part61 Niigata (3) Ikeura Sake Brewery in Nagaoka City The brand name is derived from the spirit of mutual respect advocated by the Nagaoka-born philosopher, Kyozaburo Nomoto. Polishing ratio 50%, Takane-Nishiki 15.5 degrees, Sake degree +5, Acidity 1.4 2200 yen with box It has a moderate ginjo aroma and a refreshing taste. Light and dry, typical of Niigata. At the Niigata booth, we were served sake by Miss SAKE Niigata, who told us we were drinking only maniacs 🤣.

National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2 part60 Niigata 2 Ishizuka Sake Brewery in Kashiwazaki City I don't think I've ever seen this brewery even in an antenna store. I heard that the brewery is located deep in the mountains of Kashiwazaki city and not much of it is distributed. Polishing ratio 60%, Gohyakumangoku/glutinous rice, 15 degrees, Sake degree ±0, Acidity 1.3 1,650 yen Echigo Takayanagi is a brand using only rice grown in Takayanagi. Four-stage brewing using glutinous rice. It is refreshing but has a sweet taste deep inside. I'd like to try other specs like raw sake 🤔.
