Purchased with Tenryo sake cup at Okuhiroya in Kayashima. They stocked it because it was well received at a Saga sake tasting event held for sake retailers. Probably not normally available in the Kansai region. The rice is made from Hokkaido's Kitashizuku. I know Nabeshima also uses Kitashizuku. It has a beautiful sake quality for the rice polishing ratio. There is a slight sweetness, but it is also slightly thin and heavy. It also has a nutty taste. It tastes like nothing else.

Comparison of nigori sake (Wakayama's favorite nigori sake) Following Minakata, Chokyu ✌️ This is the fire-brewed version of the nigori sake we drank in February. I buy every bottle of Chokyu I see that I have never had before 😆. The first thing that surprised me when I drank it was that there was no fizziness at all 😲. The aroma is somewhat almond-like, and it's cloudy with a lot of orioles, so it's like diluted almond milk. But it also has a sourness to it, so I felt a bit unbalanced 🤔. I prefer nigori sake with a fizzy taste 😄.

Nigori Sake (Japanese rice wine) First time drinking Chokyu's nigori 😊. I always buy Chokyu when I see the new label ✌. The ori is quite a bit more and has a strong fizzy feel to it. It has a lot of umami and a hint of sweetness that is typical of Chokyu, and yet it has a clean dryness that makes it a dangerous sake that you can drink with gusto 🤭. This one is a bit different from the matured Omachi sake I had last year, and I have the impression that it swings in a very sweet and juicy direction. I actually had it yesterday, but since it is a special junmai, I compared the two. We will drink it cold. The color is clear and almost colorless. The top aroma is mild and not very noticeable. The taste has a robust rice flavor, sweetness, and a nutty, chocolate-like complexity. It is rich and mellow, but compared to Saka, it has a more traditional country-style flavor. The aroma on the nose is bitter and chocolatey. By the second day, the chocolaty flavor has settled down, and a clear, mineral, full flavor emerges, making it easier to drink. Saka is a new brand, and is apparently better known as "Ume" (window plum). It is served cold. The color is clear with a slight yellowish tinge. The top aroma is mild, with a slight hint of alcohol. The mouthfeel is smooth with a slight flocculation, and it does not feel fresh to the extent that it should. On the palate, there is a little bit of juicy acidity, a little bit of tangy alcohol, and a nutty, full flavor that spreads. The aftertaste is a bit of a sharp spiciness, with a slight throat hit after swallowing. I bought it thinking it would be sweeter and more umami, but it was surprisingly dryer than I expected.
