It was half price at the supermarket, about 1,000 yen (1.8L). I started drinking it as a cooking sake, but finished more than 90% of the bottle without any twitchiness. As expected, it is an ordinary junmai sake. The label says it can be served at room temperature, chilled, or lukewarm, but if you want to drink it, it should be heated. This time of year, I often cook oden and nabe (hot pot), and often drink it with dashi. This was the best way for me to drink it. For better or worse, it is a sake with no peculiarities. I had never seen it before, but it must be a local brand. I found this sake in the darkness of the distribution system, but this kind of encounter is also a pleasure at the supermarket. The price was 1064 (1800 ml) including tax, and it was on sale at half price.

This is Asahi Kiku Arahashiri, a Fukuoka souvenir ๐ถ. It's in a nice looking bottle, but it seems that during the new sake season, Fukuoka's sake is often served in these stoppered bottles. I thought it was nice because it can be corked tightly so it is easy to reuse. The initial aroma is slightly sweet, like cooked rice. In the mouth, it has a mild sweet flavor with a slight astringency. It finishes with a slight bitterness. The astringency was a bit strong, but the sake was delicious with a calm and full flavor typical of Asahi Kiku โจ.

Usually not a fan of taruzake but this was a limited seasonal release, directly from the barrel to the bottle. Not so overpowering & in my view could be good with food although I had mostly finished eating by this point in the evening.
Next up was a junmai ginjo sake from Fukuoka by Asahi Kiku๐.

Next was the Ryusen Yaezakura Junmai Sake Takumi no Omachi. Compared to the Yamada-Nishiki we drank earlier, the taste is a little more robust. The aroma is almost imperceptible, but the sweetness and umami of the flavor is stronger than that of Yamadanishiki. I was full of anticipation, wondering what this sake, which won first place in the Governor's Award, would taste like! I went to the brewery and asked them about it, and they told me that they will start selling it next week. I am looking forward to it! It was delicious! (^o^) P.S. Buy at Asahikawa Marushin Shoten The rice used is Yumesasara from Tochigi prefecture. It is a low alcohol type, but it has a moderate sweetness, and as expected from an unpasteurized sake, it has a crisp taste. The acidity is also a bit like white wine, so it can be used with western food. It is an all-round food sake. It is the first time to drink Sawahime, so it is difficult to evaluate only this one, but it is an interesting brewery!

Purchased at a liquor store specializing in Hyogo sake with mofu. There were many people drinking sake in the store and the atmosphere was bizarre. When I asked the store staff if it was an event, he told me that they were people who had come from Ozeki's brewery open at a nearby store. The smell of squid filled the air, and the waiter said he was sorry for the smell ๐คฃ. This sake is brewed with salvia yeast collected by students at an agricultural high school. It is slightly effervescent and has a unique flavor. Sweet but cosmetic like no other aroma. A little nutty in the second half. I thought it was a little peculiar. After 3 days, a little bit of rum raisin taste. Definitely tastier than freshly opened ๐.
