It's been a while since I've been to Nakayamadaira! It's the first day of the accommodation maintenance for all the departments of our company! I'm going to drink warmer's shochu! Sake! Our section head, who loves Toyo Sake, suggested Toyo Sake! It's different from the Toyo Saihei we usually drink, it's spicy and fruity! I guess the Jungin made from Toyobai rice is different? It's now completely autumn. I bought some AUTUMN TIME this year, too! I like this one the best among all the autumn sakes. I think one of the reasons for this is that I still haven't come to appreciate the taste of cold oroshi, and I have a stupid tongue. The old man at my favorite liquor store said, "KODOSHISHI is a little bit waggy," but what do you think? The aroma of the top is a clear scent of plum blossoms. The mouthfeel is a bit gassy and then sweet and sour! So this is how it is. It is certainly young. The transition from the fruity aftertaste to the sour and bitter aftertaste is a quintessential Omiya. In other years, it would have a more mature impression, but this one is just as good. A limited edition from local brewery Manazuru It is called "EXTRA DRY" and is made differently from the Aki-agari we drank last month. Last month's sake had a very sour taste, but what about this one? There is almost no scent of katatekko. The mouthfeel is dry as it claims to be EXTRA DRY! The taste is very dry, with a bitter taste from the first sip! The umami that comes up slowly. The closing acidity is also moderate, resulting in a strong impression of bitterness, but this is surprisingly good. You're good at this! Manazuru! Please don't abuse me. Over the weekend, I went to the Harako-meshi Festival at the Yuriage Minato Morning Market. I woke up at 4:00 a.m. and left at 5:00 a.m. to go to Yuriage for the Harako-meshi festival, which was limited to 2,000 servings starting at 6:00 a.m. My friend who went with me drove me back home. My friend who went with me drove me home, so we grilled the shellfish we had bought from 7:00 a.m. and toasted with beer! It was a great start to a blistering day of drinking from the morning. I went home and soaked in the afterglow of the day's activities while it rained. The top-tasting aroma is quite sake-like, with citrus at the back. One I procured while visiting a grave on the autumnal equinox. I was fascinated by the label. It's nostalgic and really cool! On the first day after opening the bottle, the aroma was subdued, the taste was crisp and dry, with a pronounced bitter, mature taste, nostalgic sake! But after a day of drinking it, I was right. The fragrance was fruity, and the sweetness and umami of the rice could be felt on the palate, with a nice aftertaste and a light acidity and bitterness. I participated in the Tohoku Future Art Fireworks held last weekend. We invited our niece to join us and let her wear a yukata for the first time, and above all, the high school students who accompanied us were so nice to us! This was the third time for this event, and this time the weather was perfect, with a moderate sea breeze blowing the smoke away. Music and fireworks together. You can watch it on YouTube, but you can only experience the power of the 50 minutes of nonstop fireworks only there. As a souvenir, we pick up some fireworks fragments, which are said to be good luck charms, and offer them to the altar of the gods. After pondering what to drink on Sake Day, I decided to go with an orthodox junmai sake, Akita's Ryu-bojing. I did not feel much of the fragrance of the sake. The mouthfeel was as rich and umami as if it had a thicker flavor. It is as rich and delicious as the first sip, and has a satisfying strength. Today is Sake Day But let me tell you a story from a while ago. A welcome party for new employees & a consolation party for inspections, which was the biggest event in my department this year. We were finally able to hold the event last Friday, as our schedules didn't quite fit together. The inspection was almost a perfect game, with almost nothing to point out, so it was more of a victory party than a consolation party. So, since I was in a good mood, I brought in some good food for the guests. (Although I miscalculated that I had to pay an extra charge for bringing in the food.) An expensive one from Hahoyo! The year before last, I was put off by the price and couldn't afford it! But this year, it was a celebration, so it was okay! The top aroma is fruity and full of ginjo aroma! The mouthfeel is a trifecta of clear and elegant sweetness, moderately heavy umami, and light acidity that brings them together and refreshes the palate. This is a must-have for the Hanayo-yasumi. This is the sweet version of the Hanayo Yuso! The sweet one! From the fruity aftertaste, it finishes gently with a moist acid bitterness. Isn't it the best? Thank you very much for the treat!

The last one is Shuho. The photo of the back label that I took has gone away due to the timing of updating my phone. Although it claims to be a +10 super-hot sake, my first impression is that it is not that hot, and I can feel the goodness of the tailoring in the way it finishes with pleasant acidity and bitterness while retaining the necessary and sufficient umami. This is my first visit to Gakku, and I recommend it for its high standards in terms of atmosphere, cleanliness of work, taste of food, sake lineup, pricing, and personality of the owner. On the first day of a three-day weekend last week, I visited a cemetery in the rain, and on the middle day, my wife and I went on a lunchtime drinking tour. On the way, we stopped by Moritami Sake Brewery, Sendai's only sake brewery, for a sweet sake break and to visit Moritami Inari on the premises. We will have a set of Jikin's Tojo Yamada-Nishiki and Yoshikawa Yamada-Nishiki to drink with sashimi and sea squirt kimchi. First, let's start with Tojo! The aroma of ginjo is wonderful! The aroma of ginjo is wonderful! The balance of sweetness and umami is excellent, and the acidity and bitterness at the end of the finish is light and refreshing, making it easy to drink.
