When my wife told me we were having oyster stew tonight, I rushed to the local liquor store to buy some. I bought a bottle of Shirataka's familiar "Namahosho" honjozo. The sweetness is through and through, but the fresh aftertaste neutralizes the sweetness. It is good to drink it raw, though it is important to fire it up. The rough aroma is gradually mellowing out, perhaps because it is exposed to the air, or perhaps because I am getting drunk...

Today we caught mackerel, so we had tatsuta-age with a side of Gunma's locally brewed sake. I bought some when I visited Kusatsu Onsen the other day. My favorite youtuber introduced it, so I remembered it. It is one step stronger than fruity. It is concentrated like dried fruit. It's mild and easy to drink. I searched for "sake-no-wa" but it is not in the Hall of Fame. Is this the brewery's intention? But it is delicious. Thanks for the treat.

I ran out of alcohol I was drinking yesterday, so I bought some more in a hurry. I am also from Hokkaido, so I am familiar with it, but it is not easy to read Masuge. Yes, it is very refreshing. It would be delicious chilled when it's hot! It gives the impression of being sharp and tight. It is easy to drink. We just had it with sweet shrimp sashimi from Mashike.

The second night in Hokkaido was spent at Sanzen Sakura. I heard it is called Michizakura. It seems that the sake brewer moved from Gifu to Hokkaido, and the rice is called Nanatsuboshi, which is familiar for food use. It has an elegant fruity flavor. The fruity flavor is well balanced with the acidity and reminds me of seasonal cherries. It was a very good sake without being cloying. The price is cheap and it is the best tasting sake ever under 1500 yen for a 4-pack! I will definitely try Aizan and Comet next time.

Since I was in Sapporo, I bought some local sake from Hokkaido at a department store. It is from a city by the sea, so it has a slightly salty taste. I don't know the variety, but it seems to be made only with rice from Hokkaido. The aroma is reminiscent of muscat, and while it is refreshing, it is quite drinkable. It may be hard to drink it empty when the temperature rises.

I went horse mackerel fishing. We caught a lot of fish, so we had a drink with sashimi and nameko mushrooms. Tsuki after rain is made from the very soft water of Hiroshima. The naming is good, isn't it? The moon after the rain...beautiful. It has a good balance of sweetness, acidity and umami. As it is an unfiltered, unpasteurized sake, it is better to cool it down thoroughly. If the temperature is higher, the sweetness will inevitably protrude and the balance will become unbalanced. It is very tasty when chilled. It is full-bodied and has acidity! It was a good sake with a pear taste.

Thankfully, we caught a lot of sea bass and had a lot of sashimi and fried fish. This is the sake we bought in Kusatsu. It was not too spicy or too sweet, but had a good balance of flavor and fruitiness. It had a wildflower-like aroma at first and a floral aftertaste. It was like grass, esper. (I've been into Pokemon lately).

Today, I went to Kusatsu Onsen (hot spring), so I drank some sake from Gunma. The price is less than 2,000 yen for a 4-gallon bottle of Daiginjo. The moment I opened the bottle, a fruity aroma came up. It has a rich juicy taste like a fully ripe peach. It's delicious 😋 It's the No.1 fruit flavor ever. I can drink it without any snacks without getting tired. I'd love to go to Kawaba village to visit the brewery, but it's too far for a day trip.

The last drink of the day. It was a complete change from the Jyusudai and Izumibashi we had been drinking earlier, and it was thick. It was just so thick. It's the first time I've had such a rich sake. This sake is often described as a pineapple. Perhaps it's a characteristic of Gohyakumangoku, but I got the impression that it was more like roasted chestnuts than tropical. I can't drink too much of it because I might get tired, but it's delicious too!

Well, I finally got to drink it. This is a famous sake that everyone knows, and I knew I had to have it when I started the app. Jyushiyo is indispensable for sake lovers. I'm deeply moved by it. The umami and fruity flavors are as expected, but the speed at which they spread in the mouth and nasal cavity is overwhelmingly fast. When I drank it, I felt it spread like wildfire. It's a bit like Opus One in wine. It's like a gateway to the next level. I can finally drink it😊.

My friend ordered this sake because of its name. It seems to be a collaboration between Maruishi Brewery and the Chunichi Dragons. Although it is a cloudy sake, it is not as sweet as I expected and I like it. The first sip is a bit tingly, but after about three sips, your body gets used to it and it doesn't bother you at all. I'd like to see more and more of this kind of sake made in collaboration with other industries. It is a treasure of Japan!

I came to Yokohama to play. We took a hotel directly connected to the station and went to a nearby sake specialty store. They had a great selection. We started with a famous sake from Kanagawa. It's a standard series, but surprisingly delicious. It has a strong attack with a voluptuous alcohol feeling, but the aftertaste is clean and elegant with a gorgeous muscat-like taste.

A lucky charm with gold leaf. I couldn't drink it on New Year's, so I had it today! The glittering makes me feel gorgeous. I didn't like it because I didn't feel the flavor very much even though it was quite sweet, but I'm sure people who like cocktails will like it. I think it would be good served hot. It would be great if you could heat it up to about 70 degrees and drink it in a clear glass...

I received this sake as a souvenir. The sake brewery is located in Asahikawa, Hokkaido. It was a clear sake that showed off the cleanliness of the water from the Daisetsu Mountains. It also has a strong acidity and a fresh aroma like muscat. The sharpness and fruitiness of this sake was superior to the Kunishi Muso from Asahikawa.

The second drink of the day is here. I remember this brewery well from the summit. I bought it at the local sake corner of a supermarket in Mie. It has a unique aroma of fragrant roasted chestnuts, and it smells sweet, but it's light on the palate! It was cheap, but quite tasty. I had it cold at first, but then I heated it up and had it with some grilled fish I caught!

With horse mackerels and Ishimochi that I caught. I drank a bottle of sake that I bought on a recent trip to Ise. It made me want to read the manga "Natsuko no saké". The aroma is moderate with fresh acidity. I like the fruity aroma of green apple and the acidity that complements the light white sashimi. The level of sake in Mie is very high, and I was worried about which one to buy, but it was a good decision. Thanks for the treat!

The last sake I drank in Toyama was supposed to be yesterday, but I found some of the hard-to-find Hayashi on the menu at a restaurant I went to for lunch, and I couldn't resist having a drink. It seems that there are several types of Hayashi series depending on the type of rice. I drank the Gohyakumangoku, which had an apple-like aroma and was very well made. It was a very well-balanced sake, not too clean and not too rich. I'd love to compare the different varieties!

I went back to the hotel in Himi for a nightcap. I had bought this sake in Matsumoto. It has a light, refreshing, and fruity taste, like a ripe apple with more density. I enjoyed it while reminiscing about the deliciousness of the water from the Northern Alps and looking at the pictures of the Alps Mountains I saw on my trip from Nagano to Toyama. The trip ended with this drink. I wonder how many pounds I've gained since I've been binge drinking every day since the New Year's holiday. I'm going to stop drinking for a while from tomorrow. I hope I can come back to this site again🙏.

Here are today's two drinks. Both are seasonal sake from the same brewery, Takazawa. It's called Arabashiri. It is said to be a winter sake. Compared to the refreshing Shishinomai, the flavor is much stronger and more satisfying to drink. However, it has acidity, so it is not tiring to drink. The flavor of the sake and the fluffy flesh of the grilled yellowtail were in perfect harmony, making for a very satisfying evening.

Tonight is my last night in Toyama. We went to Himi to eat cold yellowtail, as is typical this time of year! The sake to go with it was a local sake from Himi. I heard that the toji (chief brewer) said that this is the best sake for yellowtail, and the staff at the restaurant recommended it to me. It certainly goes well with it. It has a fresh, blue impression like kiwifruit or muscat that refreshes the fatty yellowtail. If it is the type that enhances the fat, the drink will not go well. The sake is good, but the yellowtail was the best today.
