I was so impressed with the obvious taste of STAR GAIZER last year that I got carried away and bought two bottles this year! The clarity is amazing! So clear that you can feel the stars and the starry void in the night sky. There is a unique richness from it and the first day it was ...... honestly not very tasty! LOL! But from the second day, STAR GAIZER is in its element and very tasty! The sweetness is moderate, but there is a sourness and a delicious flavor, and it is delicious without any cloying taste! I remember that it was very tasty on its own last year, but this time it is also good on its own! But I thought it was clearly better with a meal! Maybe it's because this year's sake is stronger than last year's. If you ask me what it goes well with, I can't think of anything, but I think it would go well with Western food, light Italian food, and snacks that don't contain much oil. Drinking with my wife on our wedding anniversary last week, when we visited Tsushima Tsuru at the Metropolitan Morioka New Wing (laughs). Next up was a Hiyoroshi (Hiyori) Junmai Harazake by Drunken Sen. It's a refreshingly dry sake. The description says to enjoy the mellow flavor, but that's just my personal opinion... (^_^;) Good with sashimi! It was delicious! (^○^)

I tried three types of draft sake at a tasting and sale of Drunken Sen in Hankyu. I couldn't find a picture of the first one I drank, the Honjozo Nama, even though I searched for it. I couldn't find a picture of the first one I drank, but I guess it was because it wasn't winter time and there was no snow. I was told that this was a matured nama sake. It was delicious, with a beautiful, round taste. I had a hard time deciding which one to buy, but the last one I tasted was a fruity special junmai, so I went for that one.

Tasted and purchased at Umeda Hankyu. Sake from the Drunken Sake Brewery. It seems to be a terroir-like sake. It is delicious with a little bit of gasiness and both fruity and rice flavor. Once the gas disappears, the fruity taste disappears and the umami flavor takes center stage. I don't feel much spiciness. I wasn't sure whether to register it as Tagata, but the cap was Drunken Sen, so I registered it as Drunken Sen.

Next up was the Ittiki Senzan Comet Nama-no-Hara Sake. The only sake from Gifu that I know of is Ikki Senzan, so I thought I'd give it a try. It was a brand that had just been opened.
