Tochigi sake featured in Hankyu Department Store's Traveling SAKE. It was not that spicy and easy to drink. It was different from the image I had in my mind. As the pop-up says, it is also surprisingly gorgeous. I guess because Tenryaka is made from organically grown rice, you can find it in natural food stores. The regular Amataka is particularly dry, and the organic series doesn't seem to be that dry.

Tochigi sake featured in Hankyu Department Store's Traveling SAKE. Nemuchi was hesitant to drink Tenryaka because it was dry, so I encouraged him to try Kuho Series, saying it was fruity. Drinking with my wife on our wedding anniversary last week, when we visited Tsushima Tsuru at the Metropolitan Morioka New Wing (laughs). Next up was a Hiyoroshi (Hiyori) Junmai Harazake by Drunken Sen. It's a refreshingly dry sake. The description says to enjoy the mellow flavor, but that's just my personal opinion... (^_^;) Good with sashimi! It was delicious! (^○^)

I tried three types of draft sake at a tasting and sale of Drunken Sen in Hankyu. I couldn't find a picture of the first one I drank, the Honjozo Nama, even though I searched for it. I couldn't find a picture of the first one I drank, but I guess it was because it wasn't winter time and there was no snow. I was told that this was a matured nama sake. It was delicious, with a beautiful, round taste. I had a hard time deciding which one to buy, but the last one I tasted was a fruity special junmai, so I went for that one.

Tasted and purchased at Umeda Hankyu. Sake from the Drunken Sake Brewery. It seems to be a terroir-like sake. It is delicious with a little bit of gasiness and both fruity and rice flavor. Once the gas disappears, the fruity taste disappears and the umami flavor takes center stage. I don't feel much spiciness. I wasn't sure whether to register it as Tagata, but the cap was Drunken Sen, so I registered it as Drunken Sen.

Last sake I bought last year as a Kumamoto souvenir. If I have a chance to visit Kumamoto again, I would like to visit Aso and Kikuchi area 😌. When opened and poured, it has a sweet aroma like sugar and sugarcane. The mouthfeel is crisp and immediately afterwards has the plumpness of rice plus the sweet and spicy taste of brewer's alcohol.
