Another event post that will go on a bit longer... Keihan Department Store Kuzuha Mall ①. Booth at the Hokuriku Sake Fair [Sanshoraku We visited the booth of a sake shop we know who is a good friend of ours. San Shoraku Hiyahoroshi (Hiyahoroshi) Junmai-shu (Junmai-shu) A rather sharp Hiyahoroshi. After about a week after opening the bottle, the sharpness of the sake is said to be mellow and delicious. San Shoraku Gokayama Gokayama Yamadanishiki 2024 Sanjoraku's brewery is located in the World Heritage village of Shirakawa-go and Gokayama, which is actually a double World Heritage site because they make their wines the same way they used to. Sourness to refreshing umami ◉Sanshoraku Junmai-shu Yamahai Junmai A standard product, but limited to special dealers. It is extremely nourishing and slightly milky. It has a calm and relaxing feeling. I heard that there will be a little bit of nama-zake available in April, so I'm going to try to get a bottle. ◉Sanshoraku Junmai-shu Red Label The color is slightly yellowish. The color is a bit yellowish and the flavor is firm. The color is a bit yellowish and the acidity is a bit more pronounced than the umami. I didn't have a chance to drink each brand this time, so I'm drinking them in a mixed order and summarizing them by brand.

Mie Sake Enjoyment Party ⑯ Booth of Motosaka Sake Brewing Company and Hachibei Sake Brewery. There was a Hachibei Sake Shop with a label I had never seen before. ◉Sakeya Hachibei Junmai Daiginjo Tsunewaka/Ten The sake rice is Isehikari. It is light, refreshing, and delicious. The taste is well balanced. ◉Sakeya Hachibei Junmai Daiginjo Tsunewaka Jichi Sake rice is Yamadanishiki. The aroma is deep and full, with a rich, generous umami and sweetness. The aroma is deep, the flavor is full, the taste is rich and generous, and the sweetness is a little crisp. ◉Sakeya Hachibei Jugoya A junmai sake with a gentle acidity and a full-bodied flavor. The taste is full with a gentle acidity. The finish is a little astringent. It is not often sold outside of the prefecture and is used for gifts and chugengen, and is not often sold in restaurants. My trip to Tsu in Mie Prefecture came to an end at 3:00 p.m. I bought some sake at a liquor store in the station building and returned home at 7:00 p.m. I had no idea how to make train connections, and the express ticket was a bit confusing.

Mie Sake Enjoyment Party (15) Booths of Ishikawa Sake Brewing Company, Fukii, and Yamaishi. I was given a tasting at Kyoto Takashimaya before and asked about it since they said they were expanding to Osaka, and was told that more stores are now carrying it. You can buy it at Yamanaka Sake Shop, Sukuimasa, Imanaka Sake Shop, etc. ◉Fukii Junmai Ginjo A good, refreshing sake with a citrusy flavor. A little nutty. It tastes even better than the last time I had it. ◉Fukii Junmai Daiginjo The nose is clean, slightly mineral and clear. Slightly citrusy yogurt taste. Nice aroma, citrusy. The acidity is the main component, with a sourness that lingers on the tongue. I'd like to try a Fukimi.

Mie Sake Enjoyment Party⑭ The booth of Maruhiko Sake Brewery Co. and Mie-no-Kanbai. The rain was heavy here too, but the brewery seemed to be okay since it is located near Komono-cho in Yokkaichi City. This company also had no special distributor in Osaka. There was also a lineup of collaboration sake from Kingdom and Godzilla. Apparently, it was because Godzilla first landed in Mie. Junmai Ginjo Mie-no-Kanbai Hiyoroshi A hiyaoroshi sake. It has a mild flavor and a slight dryness that is typical of hiyaoroshi sake. ◉Mie-no-Kanbai Daiginjo Motoshu Slightly sweet and umami, with a good balance on the palate. It has a slight sweetness and umami. The rice price is high this year, so they are planning to reduce the production.

Mie Sake Enjoyment Party⑬ Booths of Wakabisu and Gizaemon, Wakabisu Sake Brewery Co. The most expensive sake had already been tasted, and the explanation in the pamphlet was very inflammatory🤣The other sake also had unique explanations. ◉Gizaemon Junmai Ginjo Nama Genjyo The rich citrusy taste is followed by a super sweet umami that expands before settling into a bitterness on the palate. Wakaevisu Plus 007 Gus Oriolimashimashinamagenshu The top aroma is of sweetness. It has a sweet aroma on the top and a slightly bitter aftertaste. It is delicious and easy to drink. It doesn't quite make sense to me that Gizaemon and Waka Ebisu are from the same brewery, but from the description, it must be a fun and playful brewery.

Sake Festival in Mie (⑫) Booth of Takihantu Sake Brewing Co. Takijiman is sold in my neighborhood, but I have not had much of it. Takihantama Dry Junmai Taki Suiryu (Hayase) The rice used for this sake is Gohyakumangoku. It is a signature product. It is a very dry sake with a sharp finish. ◉Takishige Kami no Ho Autumn Agari Mineral and light on the palate. It has a delicious flavor and a slightly acidic finish. Junmai Daiginjo This is a 45% polished Yamadanishiki. The aroma is restrained and slightly citrusy with a very good balance. A great all-around sake. An International Challenge award-winning sake. Not a very large brewery. It is brewed in smaller tanks.

Mie Sake Party (11) The booth of Fukumochi Sake Brewery and Tenka Nishiki. The brewery's toji, Seijiro Hane, is a former system engineer who changed his job to preserve the brewery. Although the brewery's story is well known, this was the first time I had the opportunity to meet him. Mr. Hane is from Suita, so he talked a little about Osaka. The Otsuki Sake Shop, which handles the sake, is located in Suita. Tenkashinishiki BASIN #2 Junmai Ginjo A stylish label we have never seen before, it has been around for about five years. It is made with white malted rice and malic acid rich yeast. It has a gentle sourness. It is very wine-like and delicious. ◉Tenshita Nishiki Junmai Daiginjo The taste is sweet and delicious. ◉Tenga Nishiki Junmai Daiginjyo, a very sweet and tasty wine, with a beautiful and umami taste. My favorite type. Tenga Nishiki Junmai Ginjo Hi-ire A little sake-like, but slightly sweet and sour. A sweet and sour type of sake. It is made by a single brewer, so production is said to be extremely small.

Mie Sake Enjoyment Party (10) Shinra Sake Brewing Company, Muso, old color booth. The brewery's toji was there and we had a great conversation with him. He said, "Wouldn't it be fun if everyone did jun-dai or something like that? He said, "It would be no fun if everyone was drinking jun-dai," so he said he was displaying matured sake at the event. ◉Koshiki Souzen 10 years old He said it was aged for 10 to 13 years. The aroma is light and caramel-like. Slightly acidic. Koshoku Sosen 15 years old The aroma is still very strong, but the flavor is more like a caramel. The aroma is stronger than the 10 year old, but the flavor and taste are milder. Koshoku Sosen 20 years old The aroma and the flavor are very mature. It is sweet and caramelized. The aroma is also very strong, but the flavor and taste are mild. The price is amazing though. All of them are freshly aged. They are not aged in the dream window, but prepared separately. They said it has to be raw or it won't mature well. He said they have a 30-year-old aged sake. By the way, Yumemado is only made in very small quantities, he said.

Mie Sake Party (9) Booth of Imuraya Corporation and Fukuwagura. This time they brought all fire-brewed. They want to compete without hanging on to the azuki bar. ◉Junmai Citrusy aroma, fresh and fruity on the palate. So much fruity in the hi-ire. Junmai Daiginjo The nose is also fresh, fruity and extremely tasty. It is not sweet, but has a full-bodied acidity and a clean, crisp taste. I forgot to take a picture... Junmai Ginjo Another fresh, fruity, freshly brewed sake. The Fukuwagura was fresh and fruity, which I liked. When I mentioned the sake store I had bought it from, the person at the brewery who helped me said that he shares the same last name as the owner of the sake store.

Mie Sake Enjoyment Party (8) The booth of Asahi Shuzo Co. This is another brand I have never seen before. It is mainly sold to hotels and restaurants, and is not sold outside of the local area. ◉Shinzu no Prayer, Saio Junmai Daiginjyo The best one. It has a rich flavor, a little nutty, and a little bit of a sweetness. A little nutty, a little complex. A little nutty, a little complex...for a junmai daiginjo. Junmai sake Ise Asahi A rich and savoury taste. A bit nutty, a bit complex for a junmai daiginjo.... Daiginjo Ise Asahi A very nice and clean sake, very well made. The production of this sake also seems to be very small.

Mie Sake Enjoyment Party (7) The booth of Miyazaki Honten and Miyanosetsu Co. This is also a brewery in Yokkaichi City, and they seemed to be okay with the damage from the heavy rain. We know that Miyanosetsu's Junmai Ginjyo Yamadanishiki is delicious, so we tasted their other wines. Miyanoyuki is not sold by any special distributor, but I was told that it is available at Yodobloom SAKE in Umeda, Osaka. ◉Miyanoyuki Junmai Ginjo Omachi When I told him I had never seen it before, he said it was released last fall. It's rather refreshing, and not too much like Omachi. It is well-balanced with a hint of acidity. ◉Miya no Yuki Daiginjo It has a tangy sake taste, but it's not unpleasant. Nigami Miyanoyuki Junmai Ginjyo Nama-ginjo Nama-genshu Aizan Aizan is a juicy sake with a deep, full-bodied taste. It has a deep, full-bodied taste. The lingering aftertaste is deep and to my liking. ◉Miya no Yuki Junmai Ginjo Namaiginjo Omachi Another sake that is refreshing for an Omachi, but juicy and delicious. The label is different between the raw sake and the watered-down version.

Mie Sake Party (6) Goto Sake Brewery, Seiun and Hayate booths. Aoun Sashimi Junmai Ginjyo Kamiho A standard or mainstay sake. It has a strong umami flavor and a bitterness from the acidity in the second half. ◉Sagan Junmai Ginjo Classic A classic sake, but not so much. It has a strong citrusy acidity and a bitter aftertaste. ◉Sagan Junmai Ginjo Twilight of the Gods The aroma is citrusy yogurt. It's super sweet and says it's -38 sake, but when I looked at the plate it's -32. I liked it so much I wanted to buy some to take home. Sashi is sold in Osaka, so I'll buy some next time and drink it carefully.

Mie Sake Party (5) Hayakawa Sake Brewing Department, Tenichi and Tenkei booths. This is another brand that has never been seen in Osaka. There is no place in Kinki prefecture that sells it. It is said that the amount of production is very small. ◉Tenichi Junmai The rice used for this sake is Kami no Ho. It has a sourness and a slightly tangy taste that lingers on the palate. I forgot to take a picture... Tenkei Junmai Ginjo A complex, unrefined sake with a bitter and sour aftertaste. Tenkei Junmai Daiginjo Lime-like minerality and weak acidity. A little punchy, loose and refreshing. I wish I had tasted more of it, because later I saw in the pamphlet that there was also a sweeter version. Mie Prefecture is home to the Hayakawa Shuzo brewery of Tamitsu and the Hayakawa Sake Brewing Department of Tenichi and Tenkei, so this will be a test.

Mie Sake Enjoyment Party (4) Booth of Nakayama Sake Brewery Co. and Hakumeijo. Another brand I had never seen before, a brewery that was revived after a fire 8 years ago. Matsuzaka Beef ◉Special Junmai Sake Matsuzaka Beef A little nutty and full-bodied, with an unrefined mellowness. A little nutty and rich, with an unrefined mellowness. A bit rustic. Shiraumeijo Junmai Daiginjo Melon-like, cucumber aroma. It has a fruity quality to it, but I can't describe it. It has a mild bitterness and a unique and interesting taste. ◉Junmai Ginjo-shu Ise Ebi A very refreshing sake, with a dignified and silky acidity. It may be my favorite of the bunch. They said it is only sold in Mie or Aichi prefecture and can be purchased from their website.

Mie Sake Enjoyment Party (3) The booth of Iseman & Okagesama Co. I have never seen this brand in Osaka. That's no wonder, as they do not sell their products outside of Ise-Shima. The brewery originally made shochu (distilled spirit), and now they also make whiskey and gin by utilizing their distilling technology, but the amount of sake they make is very small. The brewery is located on the OHARAIMACHI street of the Inner Shrine of Ise, and tastings are available. Whisky and other spirits are made at the head office in Ise City. ◉Okagesama Junmai Ginjo Kami no Ho A very good sake, with a rich, sweet rice flavor and a lingering bitter and astringent finish. ◉Okagesama Daiginjo A little dry. The taste is quite refreshing, with a slight bitterness on the finish. ◉Okagesama Junmai Daiginjo The aroma is gorgeous and the taste is sweet and sour. This is my favorite type. I remember that bouken-san had been to the brewery before. When I told him that I came from Osaka, he was surprised and told me a lot of stories, so I decided to go with that strategy.

Mie Sake Enjoyment Party (2) Booth of Hayakawa Sake Brewery and Tamitsu, an unlimited partnership. There were about four kinds of Tamitsu's labels lined up, but I tasted one of them anyway. ◉Tamitsu Tokubetsu Junmai Omachi Tamitsu Omachi was awarded the 2025 Omachi Summit Honor Award. The aroma is a bit citrusy and a bit hard, but it has the fullness of flavor that is typical of Omachi. There was a line of people behind me, so I thought I would come back later, but I didn't have time...too bad.

And yet another sake event post still to come... sorry... Mie Sake Enjoyment Party (1) The event was held at Hotel Green Park Tsu in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture, where the Mie Sake Tasting Championship was also held at the same time. I don't participate in sake tasting because I have a stupid tongue, but... First, after a 2-minute speech by someone in a high position (2 minutes lost), we were poured sake at a nearby booth and toasted to start the event. The entrance fee included 4 vouchers for snacks, sushi, cheese, etc., which was very reasonable. The booth of Takahashi Sake Brewery and Tianyurin. The day before, there had been a disaster-level rainfall in Yokkaichi City, and when I asked about it, they said it was just a small leak. A very lowly person was there to help us. Maybe it was the brewery... ◉Tenyurin Junmai Ginjo Kasumishu Nama The citrusy acidity is impressive, with a refreshing aftertaste. Easy-drinking orikarami. A special junmai sake, limited edition, bottle-enclosed. Slightly mineral, with a slight Urikei aroma. The aftertaste is sharp with a pleasant bitterness. Ise no Hakusake Junmai Nama A slightly effervescent, lightly nigori two-step brewing process. Low alcohol content of 12°. I didn't know some of the breweries, and since it was my first time attending the event, I wasn't sure how to allocate my time and how to get around....

Sake Brewery and Delicious Sake Party 2025⑫ The booth of Kurogyu. We were allowed to drink just in time for the last minute rush. ◉Kurogyu Junmai-shu Autumn Agari Beautiful, tasty and slightly acidic. It is easy to drink with little maturity. Daiginjo-shu Hitotsukami Another label I had never seen before, and I think it said it was the only daiginjo-shu available. The pamphlet I saw said it was a splendid price. It is a legitimate, elegant, beautiful, but also tasty. I tried the two-choice sake tasting question and got 3 out of 5 questions right....................................just like every year. I didn't get lost on the way back and was able to go straight home.

Enjoying delicious sake with the brewer 202511 Tamagawa's booth. We visited again this year just before the end of the event. ◉Tamagawa Junmai Daiginjo Tamaryu (Yamahai) Blue Bottle I don't remember seeing much Tamagawa in blue bottles other than ice breakers. The rice was highly polished, which is rare for Tamagawa, and the price was top class. The Tamagawa taste is still sweet and delicious, with a refreshing acidity. ◉Tamagawa Zoshu (Yamahai) White Label Unfiltered Nama-shu Mild sweetness and a crisp sake feel. It has a bitter aftertaste. The alcohol content is 22.3 degrees, making it a miscellaneous sake. I tried heating it up, but the astringent taste from the amino acids made it a little bitter. ◉Tamagawa Junmai Ginjo Omachi Unfiltered Nama-shu This sake has a rich and wild omachi character. The caramel and bitter aftertaste makes it a solidly delicious sake. Time was running out, so we hurried to the next booth.

Enjoying delicious sake with the brewer 202510 The booth of Hyakurakumon. Mr. Akemi Taniguchi, the head brewer who took over the business and became the co-president of the company, was there. Hyakurakumon Junmai Ginjyo Nama Genjyo Rainbow We started with a sweet sake, so here it is. The sweetness of this sake is slightly thicker and has a strong sake taste. Even at around sake strength +2, it is still spicy. Almost all of the sake is above +10 sake. ◉Hyakurugakumon Sae Special Junmai A very refreshing and spicy sake. Sake meter value +18. I told him that the price of rice is so high that the only way to make sake is to use rice that is not equal to the rice used to make the sake.
