BBQ🍖 at my house with my usual juniors. They brought sake. It is a strong and tasty sake that goes well with strong flavored BBQ and yakitori (grilled chicken). However, I have recently become very weak on sake and had to run an errand the next day, so I had to stop after one glass of sake.

I bought it at Mutoya in Sendai Station as a souvenir for myself on a trip to Miyagi Prefecture. I had my eye on a number of things, but I bought this one because I had been to Matsushima and also because it was a nigori summer sake and the label was cute. It tasted sweet and refreshing, and if you are not careful, you can drink too much of it. I liked the taste.

It's been a while since I've had a fern cider. Summer makes me want to drink shwashy drinks. It is sweet, but not too sweet, with a bitter aftertaste, like grapefruit. It is delicious. It is easy to drink, but you need to be careful because the alcohol content is sake.

The last bottle I bought on my trip to Shiga. I haven't been drinking lately because I've been cheating on lemon sours and beer😅. I heard that Shiga's sake is characterized by its strong taste, so I requested a Shiga-like sake, even though I'm not good at strong sake. Here is what he recommended. It was indeed very strong. Moreover, the sake is brewed with only a small amount of water, which is called jumizu-jikkuri, and it is said to have a strong flavor. We started with cold sake. Next time, it was too thick, so I added ice. It was still quite strong. Finally, since it was summer, I drank it with soda. It was nice to be able to taste the sake even when it was mixed with soda.

Koei Kiku is a sake that I like to drink in summer. It is served while watching Kingdom. They had it in stock the day I went to the store where Koei Kiku is sold. I had never had Haruzion before, so I bought it immediately. The acidity and freshness I thought it was white wine. Delicious 😋.

Visited a liquor store that I have not seen for a while. I bought it because it had just arrived the day before. The fireworks label was a hit with the kids🎆. The acidity is exactly what you would expect from a summer sake. Not too sweet. It was delicious even when mixed with soda and drunk with a gulp.

It's been a very, very long time since I've been to Eikofuji. Still the same kick-ass naming 🤣. I don't really think of Eiko-Fuji as dry, but at +11 sake, it's pretty dry. It's so refreshing and easy to drink that I wondered if it was really +11 🍶. It's certainly not sweet, but it's not as sharp as its name. I also enjoyed it with soda.

First issue #16 @ 2024 A while ago, my favorite liquor store started carrying this brand, and although I wanted to try it, the timing was not right. The label is a refreshing blue color, typical of summer sake. It is fruity yet refreshing. It is my favorite type of sake. Many summer sakes are refreshing and good.

First issue #15 @ 2024 Three Rengoshi, a brand for lovers of GUNDAM. However, the liquor store I usually go to doesn't carry it, and it was a brand I wanted to buy for sure when I went on my trip to Shiga. I did my research and visited a sake shop that specializes in Shiga's local sake on my trip to Shiga and got it. I thought about buying the standard black sake, but decided on this one because it was a limited edition and also because it was ogara-mi. I was told that among Shiga's local sake, many of which have a strong flavor, Sanrensei is a modern type. It does have a sweet and bitter taste, but it is not strong and easy to drink. The label reads, "In the year 2024 of the space century, peace negotiations were concluded with the CVD forces. It's a nice pun. You can almost hear the music "Terere~".

I discovered this restaurant when I was wandering around. It seems to focus on wine and sake, especially wine, and the snacks are mainly light. It seems to be a convenient place for a quick drink. It is a place you will want to go back to. I may or may not have had this brand before. It is quite a strong tasting sake. As I like lighter drinks, I couldn't drink it without a chaser.

All-you-can-drink sake at Ginjo Tuna🍶. The last one was Ottersai. I think I had a Houou Mita peach or something else before this, but I don't have a picture or remember. I think I've had them all before, not very adventurous at all 🤔. And the next day I had a terrible hangover 🤮All you can drink is a privilege for those who are strong drinkers. Every time I have a hangover I vow to enjoy it in the amount that suits me. But I forget. I don't know why🧐.

All-you-can-drink sake at Ginjo Tuna🍶. The third drink was Kaiun. It's my favorite local brand, but I had never seen this one before. It is made from Koshihikari rice grown in the spring water of Takatenjin Castle, a historical site I have wanted to visit since I saw it on the big TV show. It tastes light, or rather, a bit thin.

First issue #14 @ 2024 The other day we went camping 🏕️ in Shiga and went sightseeing in Omi Hachiman the next day. Of course we visited a liquor store and bought some Shiga sake 🍶 and learned a lot about it. I asked him what kind of sake was easy to drink, but he told me that Shiga has always had a lot of strong sake. Since river fish from Lake Biwa used to be the staple food, there are many dishes with strong flavors such as tsukudani (food boiled in soy sauce and sugar), so there are many strong-flavored sake that can keep up with that. This is one of the several bottles he recommended. The woman's hair on the label is in the shape of Lake Biwa, and I feel she is particular about it. It tasted sweet, but still had a more robust flavor than the sake I usually prefer.

Drunken Whale Summer Sake. The last time I drank Drunken Whale was so good that I bought it again. It is still delicious. It is not too sweet, not too thick, not too fruity, and well-balanced and versatile. A utility sake to keep a bottle in the fridge.

I have had it, but this will be my first post on sakewa. I had an image of Kunika as light and dry, but it has a sweetness with a banana🍌 feel. It also has a melon-like melon sensation after a day. It has a very good balance and is good as a food sake or a light snack for dinner. A stable Shizuoka sake 🍶.

I used to drink it at pubs, but never bought Oumine because it was too expensive for home drinking. I bought it when the prices of other alcoholic beverages gradually went up and I no longer cared about them. It was like drinking it for the first time, as it had been many years since I last had it. Is this the flavor often compared to muscat? The sweetness is fresh and fruity. It is also different from melon. I haven't had muscat for a while, so it didn't ring a bell, but it tastes good, so that's good 😋. I'm still at a loss for a good analogy. I'll try muscat next time.
