Luncheon meeting after the Japan-U.S. summit meeting.
It seems that Umenoyado's Katsuragi Junmai Daiginjo was served! I feel kind of happy (laugh).
This is the sake we brought back from the recent brewery opening.
It is the opening of the Hanakinisake! I've been looking forward to it since this morning.
It smells great. Oh~~! It's so delicious!
The rice polishing ratio is 90%? It has no off-flavor, no habits, and is just delicious.
It is a waste of my poor expression to describe this sake. It has a moderately sweet but fruity flavor.
As you continue to drink it, it gets a good kick.
I bought a bottle of "Smooth Cheetara" at Lawson. It goes well with it!
In no time at all, I had my second cup! I'm in a good mood.
Umenoyado Kurabiraki 4
Mr. Yoshida, the brewer, gave us his autograph!
We are too happy! Thank you so much! I was so nervous!
I told him how I got hooked on sake through undersongs, how many times I had watched videos of Umenoyado, and how I had wanted to go to the kurabiraki from last year... I talked too fast when I was nervous. When I get nervous, I talk too fast (laughs)!
Maybe President Trump will drink?"
What a surprise, I heard that Nara sake will be brought to the meeting!
The brewer was talking about it.
The last one is the highest quality sake! It has a gorgeous aroma.
The sake was soft to drink and a little strong.
It was a delightful day. ~~~~
We then headed two stops away to Kintetsu Gosho Station. This is the Aburacho Sake Brewery in Kaze no Mori.
Umenoyado Kurabiraki (3)
I had applied for a brewery tour.
I tried to check the display on my cell phone, but it was very difficult because of the speed limit.... I was in a hurry with my 4G cell phone, which was not responding at all (laugh).
I have also seen this brewery tour on video.
I was deeply moved to be standing at that place.
At the tasting, the 19-year-old brewer spoke. Of course, he can't drink yet. He says that five of his peers are making high-end sake. The sake will be served at the coming-of-age ceremony in Katsuragi City!
During the tasting, we were given two types of sake. The Junmai Ginjo was aromatic, refreshing and juicy. It was very delicious.
The other was a 90% Omachi polished rice sake. I bought a bottle of this one. I will post more later!
At the end of the tour, I received a key chain. I am so happy!
Umenoyado Brewery Opening (2)
The bus proceeded with a view of Mt.
I was impressed just by looking at it. Both Umenoyado and Shinomine brew their sake with the subterranean water of Mt.
We have arrived at Umenoyado. I have seen this scenery in a video.
Wow, it makes me want to move my certificate of residence!
I witnessed the Kagami-Biraki ceremony for the first time. The first time I witnessed a Kagami-Biraki (opening of the sake barrels).
It was so fun! By the way, I woke up early today at 3:30 a.m. I left on the 7:30 a.m. train.
We compared Omachi and Yamada-Nishiki. Interesting!
This one is smart. Yamada-Nishiki was sweeter.
However, I still have the impression that both are very tasty. There is no bitterness at all.
Umenoyado Sake Brewery Opening (1)
I want to become a person loved by Nara Sake.
I went to the Umenoyado brewery open house!
I found a station poster at Kintetsu Abenobashi Station. My heart is pounding.
I changed trains at Shakudo station. There was a signboard of Kaze no Mori at this station.
We arrived at the station after being shaken by a two-car train. Almost all the people on the train got off at Shinjo Station.
It was before 9:00 a.m., but about 30 people were lined up at the dedicated bus stop.
I noticed that there were many more behind me. It was like Umenoyado with a long line. After the small buses, a magnificent sightseeing bus arrived!
This is already an excursion, isn't it?
It is fruity but dynamic. It's powerful!
Mmmm, now that I think about it, is this what you call Omachi? The balance of sweet and sour is exquisite.
Let's compare this with Yamadanishiki!
Good morning, Pekkar 🍶 You are attending a drunken event. I envy you. Especially this unfiltered. I thought it was back, but it's not 😢 Too bad 😢 I want to drink... drink... drink...
Hello, Tsukemogami-san! My favorite Nara and my favorite Umenoyado! It was fun. I see Unfiltered is a 2019 brew!
Those were the highball days for me...
I'm a late blooming lefty lol I wanted to drink it back then...
The liqueur is really good too!
I ordered the lamb skewers with original spices.
This is good! However, it might be better with sake.
Umenoyado is also my favorite sake. I'd like to try different kinds!
This is my first post in a while. Today I visited the Umenoyado sake brewery and purchased this sake. This sake seems to be available only at the brewery. The taste is sweet with umami spreading later. It is not flashy but the price is reasonable.
100% "Omachi" grapes from the Takashima area of Okayama Prefecture are used.
It was supposed to have a delicious deep sweetness, but it is really deep! The sweetness is the same, but the deep acidity and umami come together, and there is also an image like a fully ripe fruit 🍌.
The smell is also quite heavy with a hint of rice.
I think it's delicious to drink like a dessert! 🍰
Thanks for the treat!
It was a fresh sake with a fruity aroma, a clean and light mouthfeel, a slightly sweet taste, and a bitter finish. It was a new sake only available at the opening of the brewery, but after five months in the refrigerator, we enjoyed it as a refreshing sake that is also suitable for summer.
It's a pity that Umenoyado has restructured its sake lineup to focus more on liqueurs. It's too bad, because it's such a delicious sake. I guess it hurts that Kaze no Mori and Shinomine are so close to each other...
Sweet.
It has a strong flavor of sakekasu (sake lees).
It is a sake to be enjoyed with dry food rather than with food.
It can be drunk without any accompaniments.
I went to Osaka over the weekend, so I took a short trip to Nara to visit a sake brewery😊Umenoyado‼️Hatsu Umenoyado㊗️
I had it right away and the taste was unexpected‼️
It is a bitter and pungent taste without acidity ✨It is a different kind of bitterness from the minerality of Ame-go-Tsuki or Umi-fu-do. A sharp bitterness reminiscent of Oroku-san🤞
Well, today's dinner is cold shabu shabu according to my husband's request💕and spicy miso stir-fried eggplant, komatsuna and white bunapi 😊wasabi nori tsukudani and brown rice.
A coincidental pairing, but the miso flavor with a little bit of soybean paste and the sesame sauce from the shabu shabu goes well together 😍.
I've always had a hard time pairing miso with sake, but I see how the roundness and sweetness of miso can help if you indulge in the bitterness 🧐.
The white Bunapi seems to contain a lot of ornithine, which is good for the liver 💕.
However, it's 17 degrees, so it's not a swishy drink 💦 very hard-core sake experience 😍.
Dessert was Earl Grey Milk Tea Gelato and it went so well with it that you couldn't even taste the bitterness and spiciness 🥰I guess the bitterness of the liquor and the bitterness of the Earl Grey went well together 🥰. I'll make it again 👏💪🍨.
Impressions on the alcohol by itself are in charge of shinsake3💕.
Good evening, Peckho😄I see you've been on a tour of sake breweries in Nara❣️Ume no Yado, with its high alcohol content and dry taste... it's tough for me🤣 but I also discovered that it went well with miso 🎯 I'm surprised it went well with Earl Grey 😍.
HinaHanaMama🌸That's true. It's also spicy and bitter, which I'm not a big fan of 💦, but it was surprisingly easy to match with food and aroma. ‼️ I was surprised to learn that sake has a lot of depth 😍.
