This is my first New Year's Day back in my hometown Osaka. This year, my parents invited us to their department store Osechi. My sister and her husband brought me a bottle of Okutanba as a celebratory sake. You can feel the sweetness of the rice in the beginning, but it changes to a dry taste in the middle to the end. It is a perfect match for the richly flavored Osechi and fatty yellowtail sashimi. It is said that the sake degree is +5 (dry), but I feel that it is +2~3 (slightly dry?). I guess. The sake my sister and her husband served me at New Year's was so good that I decided to pick up another brand from the same brewery. Okutanba Junmai Ginjo. This is Yamana Shuzo's regular sake. Kenshin Special Honjozo 2021BY I'm going to have a glass of this sake, which has been in hibernation for more than 2 years, with a plum crystal I bought in the neighborhood as a side dish. The taste is dry and crisp when cold, but as it gets closer to room temperature, the sweetness and umami of the rice is concentrated in the attack, and it changes to a deliciously dry taste.
