Drank "Zuitaka Kumamoto Cup Kami-Sen 180ml".
As we aim to conquer all the prefectures in Japan, Southern Kyushu is a difficult challenge.
Shochu is the main liquor here, and sake is hard to find.
During a short stay in Tokyo, I went to the sake corner in the basement of the Daimaru department store at the Yaesu exit.
The only sake they had was "Zuitaka Kumamoto Cup Sake Josen 180ml" from Kumamoto.
This dry sake is packaged in a cup with a design of Kumamon, a popular character in Kumamoto Prefecture.
It is refreshing yet full-bodied, and is best enjoyed chilled.
Finished off the Oita-Kumamoto trip with a drink at Kumamoto Airport.
I had a bottle of Zuitaka, a Kumamoto City sake, with horse sashimi.
The package of Kumamon is cute, and the sake tastes sweet, refreshing, and easy to drink.
The fourth cup was "Zuitaka" Kumamoto sake, since we were talking about Kumamoto Castle!
Mellow flavor with a mineral and cemedine taste
The taste is mellow and dry with a touch of minerality and cemedine. It's a little sweet with a hint of molasses in the middle, and it's a surefire way to warm up ✨.
It was 2 years ago when I realized that my 4-night trip from Kyoto to Ehime, Oita, Kumamoto, Saga, Hyogo & Osaka was over. Time flies so fast 💫.
This is also a tasting set. Sake degree +2, 16% alcohol. This one feels spicier. It's a bit stronger. I can't tell this from the tasting set. It is delicious. I'll have to consult with my budget to buy it...
If I have a chance, I would like to drink it again.
At first smell, the aroma is thin, but after shaking, the milk cheese flavor enters the nose.
On the palate, the rice aroma is rich and pungent, and the alcohol is balanced with the aroma of pure rice wine.
