GW 4 days 3 nights with wife, 1,500km round trip🤣 We went on a Sanriku car trip 🙂. We stayed one night near Sendai and went to Sanriku. We had an ume (sea urchin) lunch box at Kuji station, and spent the second night in Miyako. Miyako's sake brewery, Hishiya Sake Brewery, Senryo Otokoyama. Seafood Cuisine at Murekou, a long-established bar that has been in business for over 45 years. Today we had fresh and delicious seafood dinner at Today, the restaurant was run by a pleasant elderly couple, who were basically just a customer with a reservation, but they were happy to help us at the counter.

Kikumori Shinshu Secret Sake Hanpukai 2025 Gold Course. From the July Shinshu Secret Sake Hanpukai comes Kikumori from Shinshu Meizo. Shinshu Meizou, which has a brewery in the Ueda area, exhibits a freshly stored sake that has been aged in a thermal tank for two years at ice temperature. It is a 100% Miyamanishiki Junmai Daiginjo, with a Sake degree of -2 degrees, an acidity of 1.6, and an alcohol content of 16 degrees, making it a dark, mellow, sweet sake. It has an aroma of muscat and apple on the nose and a mellow sweetness on the palate. The extremely mellow and soft mouthfeel, which has lost its angularity due to aging, even gives the impression of lusciousness. The rich umami flavor spreads out firmly, and it finishes smoothly with a beautiful acidity. Sake from a sake brewery in the northern part of the prefecture, located in the famous production area of Hachitan-Nishiki, Hiroshima's representative sake rice. The brewery has been working on it since the rice was first produced. The name of the sake is "Miwa Sakura" instead of "Miwa Zakura," which I had been misreading for a long time. It is said to be dry, but the quality of the sake is relatively soft. It has a nice sharp aftertaste and is easy to drink. It is quite my favorite 😋. I had it cold, but I think it can also be served warm.

Japanese Sake Fest @ Osaka Bay Tower (・ω・`;) I see that the sake is from Nada. I recently found out that there is a small sake brewery in Nada and bought some Houmusume, which was outstandingly delicious! And this Hamafukutsuru! This is also wonderful! It has a beautiful breadth of flavor and just the right amount of body. The best part is the price: about 1,100 yen! I wish there was one in my neighborhood! When I go to Kobe for Onsen (hot springs), it is so close to the station that I might even stop by a sake brewery just for this!

It is a junmai sake brewed with up to 60% Wajima-grown Gohyakumangoku rice, carefully bottle-fired and stored in bottles. It is a perfect food sake to be enjoyed with a meal. After the Noto Peninsula earthquake on January 1, 1994, our brewery lost its function as a sake brewery. At the time, there were four bottles of unrefined sake in the brewery that were still in the process of fermentation. Two of the four bottles were Junmai-shu Wajima Monogatari. On January 13, breweries in Yamagata and Fukushima responded to our plight and removed approximately 2,000 liters of unrefined sake. The Goso Sake Brewery in Hakui, Ishikawa Prefecture, accepted the unrefined sake, topped it up and bottled it for us. In April, the brewery finally received the shipment and returned home. It is a precious sake that is the fruit of our passion.

I see that it is read as "Sekepikozan". If I had not drank this sake, I might not have been able to read it correctly for the rest of my life. The taste is fresh and quite rich. The bitter bitterness comes out in the back of the mouth, and the taste is sharp and clean. The sweetness is modest for Aizan, and although it is not the modern type of sake, the umami flavor is very well conveyed. Not bad!

I've been wanting to try this one for a while...they use 1801 yeast. It's gorgeous and fruity. It's also quite sweet. I think it's the most gorgeous of all the Yukihiko Yama brands. This was over 2,000 yen at a certain izakaya in Osaka, but at a nearby liquor store it was 1,980 yen🙄. I wonder what it is? I heard some breweries and stores add shipping costs 🤔.

Sake opened at a remote off-line meeting (3) I was asked "What is the best sake you drank this year? I answered "Aozora", but later I remembered that it was the future of sake from Akabu newborn 🤣. By this time I couldn't even remember what it tasted like, so I checked again the next day. The rice used is 100% Benkei. It is a kijoshu, although there is no description. As it says, it has a thick sweet taste. Sweet and sour. I can only drink a little at a time because kijo-zake is so thick.
