I was looking for something soft in the fridge for dessert after dinner because I can't chew hard food, and the only thing left was vanilla ice cream, which I hate 😂. It's hard for me because I don't like milk. That's where this sake comes in. I had a bottle of this sake in the first sale set, but it was too late to open it because it is hard to match with food. It is gassy, rich, and tastes like ripe melon. But the sweetness is strong. It's delicious, but.... So I sprinkled it on vanilla ice cream 🍨 and it turned into a rum raisin-like taste 🤩 and I can eat it without any discomfort. ✌️ It became a gorgeous dessert. The photo shows my second refill 🤣.

Vertical drinking comparison of San-do Hozumasu 4 Nozomi 🍶. Next up was the San-Do 2023 Homasu 4 Nozomi. This is the second bottle of San-do this season and the first bottle of Hozasu. When the bottle is opened, there is only a gas sound and the gas is weaker than that of 2022 and San-do Yamadanishiki. The appearance is warm crystal with a small amount of larger bubbles in the glass🫧. First, there is a woody aroma like spices. From there, pear, Japanese pear, and pineapple aromas with silky apricot and citrus nuances like sudachi with a hint of chili acidity. It starts with a gentle stimulation of gasiness, followed by a refreshing yet complex sweetness that flows down the palate, overlapped by a thick umami, and then a moderate acidity including a refreshing acidity that flows down the back of the throat and finishes with a sharp finish. The flowing sweetness, umami, and acidity finish with a hint of bitterness and complexity. The after-flavor also has a woody nuance of spice. Compared to 2022, it has more transparency and a clean, dry expression, but I still like it very much 🥰. Delicious 😊. By the way, I got a "this is delicious ☺️" from my wife who doesn't drink alcohol on a regular basis 😳. My wife usually shows interest in my drinks and never 🙅‍♀️ even if she puts her mouth on it, but this time she took a couple of sips and nodded her head 😊.

This time, we will be comparing vertical drinks of our favorite Sancho Hoso 🍶. We will compare last year's (2022) and this year's (2023) Yononoso. The first one is San-do-homasu Shi-no-zozo 2022. When I put my thumb on the lid, the bottle opens automatically. It is a quieter sake than San-do, but has a strong gaseous taste as a Hozu. The appearance is warm crystal and the bubbles in the glass are fine 🫧. The spice-like woody aroma is weaker than 2023, with sweet aromas of Japanese pear, pear, banana, and pineapple, and citrus nuances with chili acidity, more like yuzu with sweetness. On the palate, the fruity sweetness is intense and spreads with a sense of gas, while the gentle acidity mixes with the sweetness and flows to the back of the throat, leaving a lingering, faint acidity to kick in. The finish is moderate, with a slight astringency on the tongue. The sweetness and umami of pears, white peaches, and white grapes that even thicken and spread, mixed with a hint of complexity and bitterness that feels like a blessing of nature, is what I like about Hozu. The 2022 has more of these characteristics, and I think it is richer, sweeter, and more complex than the 2023. It has been aged in ice temperature for 6 months, so that may have some influence 🤔. It's still delicious 🥰.

Today is our 8th wedding anniversary! Actually, I'm divorced, but today marks the longest we've been married since the last time 🤣. I met Kaorin at the gym and we became friends over drinks, so I guess our tastes and interests match 😀. We would have had a dinner out, but I had to work on a three-day weekend, so we decided to celebrate at home and I asked my wife what she wanted to drink, and she said sparkling sake, so I chose San-do 😀. We had 3 bottles of San-do in the fridge at home, but I chose the Gononozo for my first drink 😀. I actually prepared this sake with the intention of bringing it to a drinking party with my friends, but it ran out so I opened the bottle today😅. I've compared the two so far and I managed to tell the difference between the two, but this time I couldn't tell much difference between the four and the five 🤣. My wife and I both have stupid tongues and all we could say was that it tasted good and was a fruit😅. I still have a lot to learn 😭. So our wedding anniversary present is this little bouquet of flowers and a ticket to the sake navigator's workshop that will be held soon 🤣. We will both learn from scratch 😀.

I finally got to drink it 😀. One of the 3 brands I wanted to drink this year is Yoshida Kurau 😀 What a surprise, I found it at the liquor store where I always go to buy San-do 🤣. I must have overlooked it because I was so happy to buy it 😅. Pon-chan and Natsuame recommended it to me as a good sake for me, and it was exactly what I was looking for 😀 It was so delicious 😀. It was so delicious 😀. It was much better suited for me than the more expensive Morishima Jun Dai that we compared 😀. In case you are wondering, this Yoshida Sake Brewery is also in Ishikawa Prefecture and must have been affected by the earthquake to some extent, but they have launched a crowdfunding campaign called "Don't Stop Sake from Noto" 😀. The project is to match breweries in Noto that are unable to make sake for a while due to the disaster with breweries across Japan such as Senkou, Akabu, Kamigawa Taisetsu, and Aburacho, and give them recipes to make sake in their stead or even collaborate with them to make sake 😀. The sake will be ready in June or later, so you may be able to drink a collaboration sake made by Senkyu with Okunoto's Shirakiku or Kaze no Mori 😀. I hope everyone will join forces and work towards the future, even if only a little 😀.

Today we opened our first bottle of Morishima 😀. We chose Omachi 40% Junmai Daiginjo for our first Morishima to compare with the previously opened Nabeshima and Sakushinshu Junmai Daiginjos 😀. But we didn't bother to do such a comparison 😅 Morishima 25+ Junmai Daiginjo Omachi 40% was a completely different drink 🤣. The fruity aroma and taste are there, but the taste is so clear and transparent, no cloying taste at all 😳. I thought Nabeshima's Junmai Daiginjo was also quite clear, but even my stupid tongue could tell that it was on a different level of clear 🤣. But I guess there are different tastes 😅. I think there are a lot of people who feel it's not enough because it doesn't have the right amount of miscellaneous flavors that can accentuate the taste 🤣. Anyway, I'm just impressed because I've never tasted such a clear taste before in my life 😀.

Finally, Kaorin and I were able to sit around the dinner table together 😀. Since we were going to be there, we decided to have a sparkling sake that the wife likes... and among the sparkling sake, we decided to have the Shinmasa Flax Cat Sparkling, which is her favorite sparkling sake 😀. I think Flaxcat Sparkling is the best sparkling sake among all sparkling sake 😀. It tastes much better than a bad champagne. ❤️ Seems a bit too good to celebrate your wife's full recovery 😅. I told Kaorin and she offered me some special Valentine's Day chocolates that she bought while I was at work yesterday 😀. Chocolates from Tatenogawa and Tomikunaga: ❤️ Flax cat sparkling and sake chocolates go well together 😀. So please give me another chocolate (sake) for Valentine's Day 🤣.

This is one of Sukumasa's New Year set. The timing was good, as I was able to drink Mimuro Cedar's Minamiki Oke Bodai Hashiro Minamiki Oke-1 just after attending the Bodai Hashiro Sake Festival at Shoreki-ji Temple. I'm a person who is easily interested in other things😅. The aroma was melon-like, and I was relieved to find that it did not smell like the pickles I had imagined. When I put it in my mouth, I could smell the aroma of wooden vats and cedar wood, and the complex flavor was intertwined with a rich but clean sweetness. On the second day, the taste was even more integrated and delicious. It went well with duck sukiyaki and hamburgers. I would like to try the other barrels, but they are too expensive for me to afford 😂.

Fridge wide open...just a little break😅 Today, the wife suddenly said let's have yakiniku at home😅. So we went to her parents' house with some meat and sake 😀. I say parents' house, but we just went up to the room right above theirs in the same apartment 😀. My father-in-law is a beer drinker by nature, but since we were going to be there, I thought of a few things to drink with him 😀. I wanted to find a sake that would be a little low in alcohol and would help to wash away the oil from the meat... so I decided to stop the special sake series for a while and chose Sansudo 😀. Of course, it used to be a rare sake that was hard to find for me, but bouken told me about it and now I have 4-5 bottles of it in my fridge at home as a staple 😀. As I expected, it washed away the oil from the grilled meat, while keeping the taste of the sake, and my father-in-law also enjoyed it.

I was caught off guard and poof! The lid flew off! I knew it was effervescent when I got it at the store, but I had no idea it was this effervescent. It was slightly effervescent on the palate, though. As expected from Sansho, it is delicious. It is simply delicious. Tomorrow is our important wedding anniversary, so I'm going to open a nice bottle of sake and toast with my wife. Purchased from Sukumasa, thank you very much.

I was able to purchase this bottle at the first set sale of the New Year. I am thankful that I was able to drink the dragon zodiac bottle with my mother, who is a New Year's Eve woman for the eighth time this year. It was a "500 check-in" for this sake, which is not easy to drink. The bottle was so energetic that the cork started to lift from the middle of opening the bottle. There were a few fine bubbles in the glass. The aroma is fluffy with a hint of sweetness. In the mouth, it has a mild acidity and an elegant flavor like apple ibis. The fresh flavor is so delicious that it is hard to believe that it is made with a traditional sake yeast yeast yeast yeast yeast. The alcohol content of 13 degrees does not stop there.

Last comparison of the year... day 2 of the San-Do 😀. On the second day, the schwarziness subsides and the true taste of San-do becomes more apparent 😀. The wife seems to like the sweetness of the Yamadanishiki rice more and more, while I find the citrusy sweetness of the Homasu 4 Nozomaki more delicious 😀. Simply put, both are still delicious 😀. This year has been a really good year for me, as I started drinking sake and got to know Sake-no-wa and many wonderful sake and many Sake-no-wa friends 😀. Finally, I finished my work yesterday and today it feels like the end of the year 😀. Today and tomorrow, I have chosen my favorite sansho for a special year-end drinking comparison 😀. I'm entering Yamadanishiki San-no-no-nozo and Homasu Shi-no-no-nozo. I know it's a bit far away from here, but bouken-san told me about a store that carries San-do, and I started to go there often to check it out, so this is a miraculous collaboration for me 😀. I have to say, it's hard to choose one over the other 😅. The taste is the basic sundo, but the color and aroma are different from each other 😀. By the way, the first day's taste comparison concluded that I prefer the more fruity Hozasu and the wife likes the more rice-scented Yamadanishiki 😀. I'm looking forward to the second day's taste comparison tomorrow 😀.

Today's new sake is Mutsu Hachisen's new ogara-mi sake. At a glance, it's so transparent that you can't tell which part is orizumi 😅. It's so transparent that you can't tell which part is orizumi 😅. I prepared a mixture of the top clear liquid and a mixture of the top clear liquid to test it out 😀. I compared the two with Fuyuhiguma, Kido, and Sanndo 😀. The one that surprised me was the Hakusen😳. The taste is totally different before and after the light stirring 😅. It doesn't look that different but the taste is totally different 😳 Of course it tastes much better when mixed 😀. This sake was a sake that is perfected by mixing 😀. By the way, the result of the drinking comparison was a memorable Bussando for me and a Rikuhachisen for the wife who loves new things 😀.

The sake that made me complete my round-the-Japan trip, Sundo 😀 I spent my school days and have the most memories of Kumamoto's sake, Sundo, but I couldn't find it in Osaka, so I asked a friend from my school days to get it for me, but this time I was able to buy it normally at a store 😀. Actually, I visited there once and they didn't have it in stock, so I gave up on it. I visited this store once and gave up because they didn't have it in stock, but my friend Bouken recommended me to go there again and I was able to get a new bottle of San-no Yuzuru 😀. The taste matched that mouth-watering sizzling sensation, and it was very delicious 😀. I compared them all, I like them all but I liked the memorable Bussando the best 😀. By the way, the wife said that she would drink Kido no matter what 😀.

The name "Yuri Shizukuri" comes from the name of the president and chief brewer, Mr. Yuri Inoue. The lees are submerged, and when mixed, it turns light and cloudy. It has a fresh, melon-like flavor. The acidity is quite strong, and the sweetness fades out with a slight bitterness at the end. Leading sake stores in the Kansai region have started to handle it one after another.

I drank Denshogiku Oriagarami about 3 years ago, so I bought this one this time. It has a pear-like sweetness with a nice gas accent. The ogara-mi is delicious, but too sweet, so I think this is the one I can drink without getting tired of it. This one is too delicious too. If it's your favorite flavor, you'll drink it down fast😅.

I haven't had it since I bought it at an offline meeting in Fukuoka 😅 Aladdin-san really.... Thank you 😭 I had it with a little leap 😋. I'm so happy to hear that 🕺🕺💃🕺💃🕺🕺🕺.... The taste is wonderful 🤤. The moment you pour it into the sake cup, it's shwashy🫧. Expectations are maxed out 😆⤴️ A good balance of sweetness and sourness in the mouth...
