Today at Koshien Stadium: 🏟️
Local sake from Shobara, deep in the mountains of Hiroshima.
It was a classic sweet and astringent drink.
I couldn't get used to it at first, but as I kept drinking it, I started to enjoy it. 🙆♂️
The last one is Zuikan from Miyoshi.
This is a light and dry sake that goes down smoothly.
We had a lot of delicious food from Hiroshima, such as raw oysters, kone, and senji meat!
It was the best 😆.
The fourth glass was Honshu Ichi.
It was a high level sake with fresh, chili gas and a good umami taste. 🙆♂️
It's nice that they use Senbon Nishiki, just like Hiroshima sake 😊.
The third sake is from Etajima Meisho brewery in Etajima, Hiroshima Prefecture.
It was established in 1907, and was popular as the official sake of the Navy in Etajima, where the former naval academy was located.
It tasted like Hiroshima's typical delicious, medium-dry sake. 🙆♂️
The second glass was Miwazakura, a local sake from Miyoshi.
This one was easy to drink, light and gentle with a touch of sweetness 🍶.
When I come to a travel destination, I like to drink this kind of sake which is hard to find in Osaka 😆.
Today I took a one-day trip to Hiroshima with my senpai at work 🚄.
We went to a pub in Hiroshima station to compare drinks 🍶.
The first one is "Ooganou".
It was delicious, dry with a strong umami flavor and suitable for a mid-meal drink. 🙆♂️
A cup of sake from Kinryo, a local sake brewery in Kotohira, one of our favorite sake breweries.
It was a smooth, light, dry sake with a hint of sweetness, typical of Kinryo 🍶.
It seems to be popular with everyone. 🙆♂️
Purchased from a vendor carrying a sake server at a Hanshin game at Koshien stadium.
I drank it last year, and it is a fruity, full-bodied, unpasteurized sake 🍶.
When you buy it, they ask if you want ice or not, but I recommend ice because it makes the taste milder. 🙆♂️
I have yet to see Hanshin win a game this year 🤣.
The drinks were delicious, but I really want to see a win there soon lol.
I was curious about this local sake from Kakizaki, Joetsu City.
It seems to be a summer sake, but it is a very tasty one with a refreshing acidity like grapefruit and a clear sweetness.
The label is also fashionable and would be a good choice for beginners. 🙆♂️
The third glass is a local sake from Katano, Osaka.
It is a cup that has the flavor of rice, but also has a refreshing feeling. 🙆♂️
Aoyama Ryokusui" is a four-character idiomatic expression that describes a natural landscape.
It is a brand that is hard to find even in Osaka, so it is very special!
I had a drink with my wife at a nearby bar.
The first drink was a local Izumo sake, Yamasan Masamune.
It is a San-in style sake with a good taste of rice and a sharp taste. 🙆♂️
I had it with sashimi of tuna and it was delicious!
A gift from my wife's mother.
This is the second time I've had a bottle of sake here and it was a fruity, sweet, smooth and easy to drink one: 🙆♂️
It was so delicious!
After work, I had a drink at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant.
I often see this sake from Dewazakura, but surprisingly I had never had it before lol.
It has just the right amount of fruity and umami flavor. 🙆♂️
It is a stable taste! Goes well with sushi 🍣.
The last was Sogapère Ephis🍾.
We drank Ilya Thornton before, but this time it was Numérosis.
It was very winey, just seemed drier than Ilya Thornton 🤔.
The sogapé at the end was so good 🙆♂️
The second drink at the other sake brewery was Asahitaka, which I have not had for a long time.
It too had a sweet taste and was delicious 😊.
Compared to Jyushiyo, Asahitaka is less fruity, clearer and more suited for a mealtime drink.
I think I like Asahitaka more 🤔 lol
The second restaurant is Tennoji's other sake.
The first was a sake from Hayashi Sake Brewery, which is located near the border of Toyama and Niigata prefectures.
It was delicious, with a subtle fruity flavor and a light dry taste that went down a treat.
The last sake at yesterday's sake costing brewery was a special order sake from Hououmida.
It was a fruity, clear, sweet to bitter cup 🍶.
It was also fresh and delicious. 🙆♂️
The fifth sake was an old man's sake brewed by Nakai Sake Brewery in Kurayoshi.
It seems to be made for people in their 50's or older, but it is surprisingly mildly delicious and easy to drink San-in sake 😳.
It would be good warmed up lol.
Hi Jay & Nobby!
It looks like it was made for that purpose, but it was a surprisingly mild and tasty sake, classic but also tasty for people of all ages. 🙆♂️
